%igen Natriumalkylsulfatpaste (Alkylreste C12 C18) vermischt.
Fatting agents for fur skins It has been found that emulsions, the amides or esters of low molecular weight mono- or polyhydric alcohols and saturated or unsaturated fatty acids or their sulfonation or sulfonation products or mineral oils or their sulfonation products, furthermore water-soluble or water-dispersible ,
With compounds containing lipophilic residues, chemically modified polyalkylene oxide waxes and natural or synthetic waxes can be used with advantage as fatliquoring agents for fur skins. The present invention now relates to a fatliquor containing the substances listed above.
In addition to other fatty acid esters, animal, vegetable or synthetic oils or fats or mixtures thereof, as well as sulfonation or sulfitation products thereof, are suitable as esters. Such oils and fats are e.g. B. olein, trane, tall oil, etc.
Corresponding sulphonation or sulphitation products are 'forkish red oil, sulphonated nipple oil, sulphonated or sulphited sperm oils or Trane, sulphonated vegetable oils. Further possible mineral oils are those of natural or synthetic origin and their sulfonates. The oils and fats can also only be sulfonated.
Instead of the esters or mineral oils listed or their sulfonation or sulfitation products, in the fatliquoring agent according to the invention, for. B. also contain fatty acid amides.
Water-soluble or water-dispersible polyalkylene oxide waxes chemically modified with compounds containing lipophilic radicals are z. B. Condensation products which, in addition to the polyalkylene oxide radical, contain higher molecular weight aliphatic, alicyclic, aliphatic-aromatic or cycloaliphatic-aromatic radicals of at least six carbon atoms in the molecule.
The polyalkylene oxide radical should preferably be a polyethylene oxide radical and have a molecular weight above 1000, preferably between 5000-10,000.
Such derivatives can be obtained, for example, by using ethylene oxide or another alkylene oxide, such as propylene oxide, epichlorohydrin, etc., in the presence of catalysts on higher molecular weight aliphatic, alicyclic or fatty-aromatic hydroxy, carboxyl, mercapto, amino or Allows acid amide compounds to act,
until the required condensation stage or the corresponding molecular size of the polyalkylene oxide is reached. As starting components for this come z. B. Consider hexyl alcohol, octyl alcohol, octyl mercaptan, dodecylamine, cyclohexyl alcohol, alkyl cyclohexyl alcohols, cyclohexylamine, naphthene alcohols, benzyl alcohol, ar-tetralol, alkylphenols,
First run fatty acids C7-C9, naphthenic acids, oleic acid, lauric acid amide, alkylbenzenesulfonic acid amides, etc. However, the corresponding ethers or esters can also be obtained by z. B. Polyethylene oxide wax etherified with hydroxyl compounds of the type mentioned or esterified with corresponding carboxylic acids.
Instead of these modified polyalkylene oxides, the fatliquoring agent according to the invention can also contain those which are produced by condensation of polyalkylene oxide waxes, organic compounds which, in addition to a higher molecular hydrocarbon radical, contain an easily exchangeable hydrogen atom, and three or polyvalent organic acids according to Swiss patents 327716 and No. 325449.
Furthermore, you can use those polyalkylene oxide wax derivatives that are obtainable by condensation of polyalkylene oxide waxes, oxo compounds and compounds with exchangeable hydrogen atoms of the type mentioned above,
according to German Auslegesehrift No. 1038562 or by condensation of polyalkylene oxide waxes and polycarboxylic acids with lipophilic residues according to German Auslegesehrift No. 1038055.
Of natural or synthetic waxes, wool fat and wax esters from unsaturated fatty acids and fatty alcohols, for example marine animal oils, are suitable.
In addition to these components, if necessary, known emulsifiers can also be present in the fatliquor, in particular alkyl sulphates, alkyl sulphonates, alkylbenzenesulphonates and other anion-active or also cation-active or electronically neutral surface-active compounds.
The fatliquoring agents according to the invention are suitable for all fatliquoring processes during the production of pelts, that is to say both during the dressing and for the fatang of the dressed furs. They can be used in the form of spread fat as well as barrel fat (licking). Above all, they are suitable as an additive to the stain, since the lubricants are highly resistant to the influence of electrolytes.
The finished and dyed pelts are re-greased using the brushing method or in a barrel, the latter method of operation having the advantage that the hair can take up the natural fat that was partially lost during dyeing from the liquor.
The fatliquoring agents according to the invention give an excellent fatliquoring effect. The storage of the fatty substances is so complete that the leather side of the fur retains its cloth-like softness and tack even when it is refined with organic solvents and that in most cases refatting is unnecessary. The fur skins retain a pleasant, greasy grip even when they are stored in dry air for long periods.
The fatliquoring agents are of particular interest for use during the tanning process, whereby a tanning and fatliquoring effect is obtained at the same time.
The fatliquoring agents according to the invention are used in the processes of fur production essentially in the usual concentration ratios. Aqueous liquors containing 10-50% fatliquor are used for brush lubrication. If necessary, up to 50 g / l of table salt and / or 10-30 g / l of commercially available chrome tanning agents or alum can be added to the liquors.
In the fatang after the liquefaction process, liquors with 2.5-6 g / l fatliquor are generally used. If necessary, alum or chrome tanning salts and / or common salt can also be added to these liquors in the usual amount.
The fatliquoring agents according to the invention are suitable for tanning all types of skins, such as rabbit and sheepskins, wild skins, noble skins such as martens, polecats, muskrats, Persians and the like, or foals.
Example 90 parts by weight of a sperm oil sulfonated with 20% sulfuric acid and neutralized with ammonia are mixed with 5 parts by weight of the distearic acid ester of a polyethylene glycol wax with a molecular weight of 9000 and an additional 5 parts by weight of a 50
% sodium alkyl sulfate paste (alkyl residues C12 C18) mixed. 20 parts by weight of technical wool fat are incorporated warm into this mixture. On cooling, an ointment-like paste is obtained, which is ideally suited as a fatliquor when tanning fur skins.
Instead of the distearic acid ester, other esters of polyethylene oxide wax can be used, e.g. B. the corresponding montanic acid ester or an ester with a polycarboxylic acid, which was kept by the addition of maleic anhydride to oleic acid, as well as mixed esters of polyethylene oxide wax with phosphoric acid or citric acid and stearyl alcohol. The condensation products made from polyethylene oxide wax and stearyl alcohol using formaldehyde can be used with equal success,
Stearylamine or stearic acid amide.
Pickled sheepskins or lambskins are treated in a liquor ratio of 1:20 in a bath which contains 30 g / l of table salt and 10 g / l of a commercially available chrome tanning agent with about 26% chromium oxide content. If necessary, the pH of the tanning liquor is adjusted to 3.2-3.5 with formic acid.
After a running time of two hours, about 40 g of the fatliquoring agent described above are added to the ongoing tanning process per hide. After a further 2-3 hours, the pH is adjusted to about 3.8 with ammonia and the pelts are agitated overnight. The next morning the pH of the tanning liquor is readjusted to pH 3.6-3.8. The hides are then removed from the tanning process and spun. This way of working results in a significant time saving compared to the spread tanning and fat tanning that were previously used.
The storage of the fatliquor is excellent, so that relubrication is not necessary.
For the purpose of spreading fat after dyeing the skins, the fatliquor described above is dissolved in water in a ratio of 1: 2. Part of the solution is incorporated into 2-2.5 parts of a solution of 60 g / 1 table salt and 10-20 g / 1 of a commercially available chrome tanning agent with about 26% chromium oxide content. An emulsion is obtained with which the fur skins are coated in the usual way.
The emulsion is very well absorbed by the skins, with a tanning and fat-lending effect at the same time.
The soft grip achieved on the fur skins is retained even after prolonged storage in dry air. The dyed pelts can, however, also be greased using the licking process (reel), which offers particular advantages with the greasing agents according to the invention.
