Description

  La fi-. 1 est une vue perspective du cous  sin ;  la     fig.    2 est une coupe verticale par la ligne  2-2 de la     fig.    1 ;  la     fig.    3 est une coupe verticale partielle  par la ligne 3-3 de la     fig.    1, et montre com  ment l'air sort de l'enveloppe ou y rentre  lorsque le coussin est comprimé ou relâché ;    la     fig.    4 est une vue en perspective partielle  de la plaque caoutchouc mousse telle qu'elle se  présente avant d'être repliée sur elle-même ;  la     fig.    5 est une vue en perspective mon  trant le coussin utilisé comme repose-pieds ;  la     fig.    6 est une vue en perspective mon  trant le coussin utilisé comme accoudoir ;

    la     fig.    7 est une vue en perspective mon  trant le coussin utilisé comme coussin dorsal ;  la     fig.    8 est une vue de côté montrant le  coussin utilisé comme appui-tête ou comme  support pour la nuque ;  la     fig.    9 est une coupe verticale montrant  le coussin à l'état comprimé et montrant com  ment l'air s'échappe du trou de l'enveloppe ;

    la fig. 10 est une vue analogue à la fig. 9 mais montrant la disposition du coussin après qu'il a été vidé de la pression et juste avant l'entrée de l'air dans l'enveloppe, et la fig. 11 est une vue similaire à la fig. 10 mais montrant le coussin après qu'il a été donné à l'air une possibilité d'entrer de nouveau dans l'enveloppe.

      Cushion The present invention relates to a sin neck which can be used in particular for travel by rail, plane and road vehicles, and which can be used at will as an armrest, as a footrest, as a back cushion or as a support for neck.

  It is characterized in that it comprises a plate made of a porous and elastic material folded back on itself and located in an envelope larger than the body formed by said folded plate and made of a waterproof material. air, this envelope having a hole to allow air to escape when the cushion is compressed, and air to return when the porous and elastic plate returns to its normal shape.

  The appended drawing represents, by way of example, a particular embodiment of the cushion which is the subject of the invention.

  The fi-. 1 is a perspective view of the cous sin; fig. 2 is a vertical section taken on line 2-2 of FIG. 1; fig. 3 is a partial vertical section taken on line 3-3 of FIG. 1, and shows how air exits or enters the casing when the cushion is compressed or released; fig. 4 is a partial perspective view of the foam rubber plate as it appears before being folded back on itself; fig. 5 is a perspective view showing the cushion used as a footrest; fig. 6 is a perspective view showing the cushion used as an armrest;

    fig. 7 is a perspective view showing the cushion used as a back cushion; fig. 8 is a side view showing the cushion used as a headrest or as a support for the neck; fig. 9 is a vertical section showing the cushion in the compressed state and showing how the air escapes from the hole in the envelope;

    fig. 10 is a view similar to FIG. 9 but showing the arrangement of the cushion after it has been relieved of the pressure and just before the entry of air into the envelope, and FIG. 11 is a view similar to FIG. 10 but showing the cushion after it has been given a chance to reenter the envelope.

  In the drawings, "10 denotes a foam rubber plate which has a number of spaced apart cylindrical cavities 11 of a depth less than the thickness of the plate, the latter having angles or rounded corners as indicated at 12 in FIG. 4.

  An envelope in the form of a plastic cover, designated by 13 in its appearance envelops the plate 10 after the latter has been folded back on itself (fig. 2) so that the cavities 11 are placed in opposition two by one. two (fig. 11).

  The casing 13 comprises an upper part 14 and a lower part 15 which are joined by hot gluing on their periphery, as indicated at 16, these parts 14 and 15 extending laterally beyond the sides of the body of the plate. folded as shown in fig. 2.

  A quick-closing device with slider, designated by 17 (fig. 1), is provided in the upper part 14 of the casing and comprises the zipper 18 and the slider 19. This rapid closure allows the plate 10 to be easily inserted. folded in on itself in the envelope, or to remove it. The upper part of the casing is provided with an air hole 20.

  As seen in fig. 2, the natural elasticity of the plate 10 folded back on itself creates an air space 21 between the openings 11 opposite two by two, so that the damping effect is found increases. When the cushion is compressed, as shown in fig. 9, the air contained between the openings 11 is forced to the outside and escapes through the hole 20, thus allowing easy sagging of the cushion while increasing elasticity and comfort.

  A damping effect is thus obtained not only by the belt 10, but also by the air which fills the sealed envelope 13.

  Due to its compact structure and the ease with which it can be transported, the cushion can be conveniently taken on air, rail and road vehicle travel, and used in any of the positions shown to fig. 5 to 8.

  Instead of making the plate from a material such as foam rubber, other porous materials can be used which have compressibility and expandability qualities when compressed and released. Mention may be made, among these materials, of rubber, fiber, compositions and synthetic products which are elastic and comprise cells arranged to communicate with the surrounding environment in order to fill with air and expel this air under the effect of. a release and a pressure, respectively.

  Additionally, because the casing is removable, the pad can be disassembled for laundering, cleaning or replacement of the casing.
