<SEP> method for <SEP> making <SEP> a <SEP> electrofusion connection <SEP> for <SEP> electrically <SEP> heated <SEP> tubular heating elements
<tb> and <SEP> then <SEP> produced <SEP> electrofusion connection are known electrofusion connections for electrically heated tubular heating elements which have a metal rod, one end of which has a thread. The end of the coiled heating conductor is screwed into the turns of this thread and then the thread and heating conductor are mechanically united with one another.
The mechanical connection of Ge thread and heating conductor is made in the known design that pressure is exerted on four points on the circumference of the metal rod, so that the thread is squeezed at 90 offset points and thereby holds the end of the heating conductor. This connection can be described as extremely inadequate, because the heating conductor is unevenly stressed at its most sensitive point.
In addition, this connection does not result in a smooth cylindrical surface, so that the risk of corrosion is not eliminated because moisture can still enter the finest gaps between the heating conductor and the thread.
The invention is based on the task of eliminating the disadvantages that are inherent in the known embodiment described above and, moreover, of producing the discharge so that it is not a rigid discharge as in the known arrangement, but rather can easily be deformed into connection lugs. According to the invention, this is achieved in that first the mechanical connection of the thread with the screwed-in heating conductor is made by rolling the thread and then the metal rod serving as a power supply is tapered towards its free end by mechanical action in its cross section.
This taper after the rolling of the Ge wind z. B. by rolling, hammering and / or the like. Due to the tapering of the supply line, this is appropriately reduced in cross section; that of the exit from the radiator the free ends of the same z. B. can be bent by hand with round pliers without difficulty connecting lugs. This option does not exist in the older version because the power supply, which usually consists of a steel rod up to 4 mm thick, is mechanically too stiff to be deformed by hand with a simple tool.
The older version is therefore also provided with a thread at the end protruding from the radiator and the power connection is made via a screw connection. If a connection that is to a certain extent elastic is required, then it would be necessary in this case to solder or weld a wire or strand to the lead rod. This does not apply to the subject matter of the invention, which can be produced simply and quickly, because both the rolling of the thread receiving the heating conductor and the lowering of the cross section of the supply rod can be performed mechanically in a short time.
Any mechanical solidification that occurs when the rod is tapered can be achieved by subsequent annealing of the rod that has been rolled down, e.g. B. in the high-frequency furnace, eliminates conditions in the shortest possible time, so that you get a lead that is so soft that it can be bent at will without difficulty.
A chromium-plated steel rod is recommended as the material for the lead rod. This is easier to provide and less wear on tools with a thread than a rod made of an alloyed steel. At the same time, it offers the further advantage that it has the same resistance to heat and corrosion as well as a higher electrical conductivity than one made from alloy steel.
With the new supply line, the required leakage current path between the Ileizleiterzulei- line and the pipe jacket on the face of the tubular heating element can be achieved without difficulty if the exiting end is only about 1 mm thick. In addition, such an end helps to reduce heat dissipation in special constructions.
An example of an embodiment of a heating coil connection according to the invention can be seen from the drawing, namely the upper half shows a section through the feed rod before it is tapered, while the lower half shows this in view after the heating conductor has been rolled up and the feed line subsequently tapered. The feed rod 1 initially has a constant cross section over its entire length and has the thread 2 at its end facing the heating conductor.
The last turns of the helically coiled heating conductor 3 are screwed into this thread and then the protruding meat of the thread 2 is rolled over the heating conductor, so that a completely smooth cylindrical surface 4 is created. After rolling in, the free end of the I4eizleiterstäb .. chens using mechanical means, eg. B.
by hammering or rolling, and the result is the free end 5 with a reduced cross-section, the length of which has become longer than its original length, which had a larger cross-section, as a result of the material migration during hammering or rolling. The strong rolling down or hammering of the free end mechanically solidifies this and makes it brittle, which is not desirable with regard to later use. To softly glow the free end of the heating coil connection, it is sufficient to
B. to briefly expose a high frequency heating and then let it cool slowly. A supply line treated in this way can then be used as desired using conventional tools, e.g. B. ztrt eyelets, bent.
