<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Extraction device on an electrical apparatus It is known to provide protective relays for electrical systems such. B. overcurrent, differential, thermal relays, etc. in such a way that the actual device as an insert in the assembled state can be pulled out of the respective protective geliiiuse, whereby special precautions are taken that with your device, e.g. B. a relay, in which eliem, when plugged in, the connection with the relay housing remaining in the switch panel is automatically established, the circuit is closed before the apparatus is lifted from the contacts.
Among the known types of embodiment there are those in which the apparatus part forms a unit with the front panel. By loosening the fastening screws that connect the front panel of a relay to the relay box, the relay part can be pulled out using the two screws. This embodiment has the disadvantage that large frictional forces have to be overcome when pulling out, because usually a larger number of connector pins have to be pulled out at the same time and there is a risk that when the pins are pulled out, the relay suddenly loosens due to the sudden cessation of the frictional forces.
Other types of embodiment use changeover switches which are actuated from the front and which only have to be turned after opening the closure cover, whereupon latches have to be opened, on which the relay can be pulled out, which means laborious manipulation. Finally, there are embodiments in which the supply lines coming from the rear connection terminals of the relay are guided on an insulating plate with a rail on the box floor, while corresponding counter rails are present on the apparatus part.
A drawer-like slide is inserted between these two rows of contact bars, which provides the connection between the upper bars on the apparatus part and the feed bars on the box floor. Here, this slide must first be pulled out and then the active part must be loosened with two crucibles, after which it can then be grasped and pulled out. This last embodiment requires a large amount of material and is therefore uneconomical. The disadvantages of these known embodiments are overcome by the invention described below.
The invention relates to an extraction device on an electrical apparatus which has an insert guided in a housing, which has electrical connection contacts on the rear side which, when the insert is pushed in, are in connection with corresponding mating contacts in the rear wall of the housing.
The invention is based on the fact that a bracket is pivotably mounted on both sides at the front of the insert and that it has spiral slots with respect to the axis of rotation, and that on the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Housing wall pegs are provided, which engage in the spiral slots after inserting the device and pivoting the bracket from its folded-out position into the vertical position and cause the insert in the guide to move backwards and thereby bring the contacts into contact with force transmission will.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.
In a housing 1, the pull-out apparatus part (insert), for. B. the structure 2 of a relay, can be used. It is inserted with the aid of guide rails 3 on the housing and a matching rail 4 on the relay. Plug contacts 5 are provided on the rear side, which cooperate with corresponding mating contacts 6 in the housing wall 7. In the inserted state, the contacts 5 are in contact with the contacts 6. Establishing and releasing the contact connection is associated with an expenditure of force to overcome the frictional forces of the individual plugs, which must be effective over the last short stretch of the insertion path.
To overcome this friction force of the connector, the bracket 8 is provided, which, with a large power transmission, enables these frictional forces to be overcome with little force. This bracket is pivotably mounted in the pin 9 on both sides of the insert 2 (relay). The temple ends have slots 10 which run in a spiral with respect to the axis of rotation of the temple 8 around the pin 9. Furthermore, pins 12 are present in the housing wall, which engage in the spiral-shaped slots 10 as soon as the bracket 8 is pivoted from the horizontally drawn position into the vertical position with the relay pushed in. This pivoting movement pushes the relay further into the housing as a result of the spiral-shaped inwardly extending slots.
The distance covered corresponds to the reduction in the radius of the center of the spiral slot. The pins are now pushed in over this short distance. With little effort at the end of the temple, a large amount of force is applied to overcome the friction. When the lever is tilted down into the horizontal position, the reverse process takes place, in that the plug contacts are also pulled apart with a high degree of force.
Instead of rubbing plug-in contacts, spring-loaded contacts can also be used. When the relay is pushed in, the counterforce of the compression springs is overcome with a large force transmission and the insert is held in the contact position.
The swivel bracket is arranged so that when the relay is plugged in, it is vertical behind its front, while when the contacts are released it is approximately horizontal (as shown in FIG. 1) and is held in this position by a stop 13. In this position, the bracket serves as a convenient handle for pulling out and carrying away the relay assembly.
The stop of the bracket (as shown in FIG. 2) can also be provided with a spring 14, so that when the contacts are disengaged, the bracket is not initially. completely in the horizontal position and the pin 9 still remain in engagement with the spiral slot. This prevents the relay from accidentally slipping out. The relay can only be pulled out by pressing the bracket down completely into the horizontal position, overcoming the spring force of 1.1.
The advantage of this device is that, as a result of the force transmission, a large push-in force arises, as a result of which strong knife or pressure contacts can be operated. Furthermore, since the force on the swivel bracket when pulling out, at the moment when the contacts loosen, is directed vertically downwards, a sudden loosening and thus the risk of the relay falling out is avoided. It also educates. the swivel bracket a convenient handle to carry away the relay part. In addition, in its horizontal position, it clearly marks the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the relay that is out of order.
In this position, the relay can be tested on site by connecting the test leads to the terminals.
