Die Lösungsfarbe des Farbstoffes in konzentrierter Schwefel s i äure i, st dunkelblauviolett.
Velourleder in grünstichigen Schwarztönen.
Process for the preparation of new polyazo dyes It has been found that new valuable polyazo dyes of the general formula can be obtained
EMI0001.0005
where A is an aromatic radical, D is the radical of an aromatic diamino compound, n is the number 1 or 2., one X is hydrogen, the other X is OH or NH2, R is hydrogen, alkyl 1, aralkyl, cycloalkyl,
Phenyl and the benzene nucleus can also contain further substituents, is obtained when the tetrazo compound of an aromatic di-amino compound (D) in an acidic medium with one mole of a 1,8-amino-naphtholsulfonic acid, then in an alkaline medium with one mole of a any diazo compound (A) kup pelt and the diazodisazo compound thus obtained with a 1,2- or 1,
4-diamino or amino-oxy compound of the benzene series united ver.
Benzidine, o- or m-tolidine, dianisidine or their sulfonic acids, and also 4,4'-diaminostilbene-disulfonic acid, p-phenylenediamine and its substitution products may be mentioned as tetrazo components (D).
1-Amino-8-naphthol -3; 6-disulfonic acid, 1-amino-8-naphthol-4,6-disulfonic acid, 1-amino-8-naphthol-3,5-disulfonic acid, 1-amino -8-naphthol-4-sulfonic acid are used.
The radical A can belong to the benzene or naphthalene series, optionally also substituents such as halogen, nitro, amino, alkylamino, arylamino, acylamino, alkyl or alkoxy groups and, if appropriate, also carboxyl or Contain sulfonic acid groups.
The dyes can be used for dyeing textiles made from animal, vegetable or synthetic fibers; they are particularly suitable for dyeing leather, giving blue-black dyeings which are distinguished by a particular bluish cast.
The new dyes differ from known dyes which contain 1,3-diamino benzene or its substitution products as end components instead of 1,2- or 1,4-diaminobenzene, in that they have considerably better resistance to alkali or acid.
While the solutions of the known dyes from 1,3-diaminobenzenes and the dyeings produced with acids strongly to red and with alkalis to green to beat, solutions and dyeings, which are made with the dyes according to the invention, by acids or alkalis in Sound either not changed at all or only slightly changed. On the other hand, the known dyes from 3-aminophenol are changed to red by acids, while this is not the case with the corresponding dyes from o- or p-aminophenols.
Since the color changes in the known dyes from 1,3-diaminobenzenes or 1-amino - 3 - oxybenzenes are apparently caused by the amino groups, it must be described as surprising when the dyes according to the invention, in which the same auxochromes only in are in a different position to one another, do not show this strong pA dependence of the color shade.
At the. In many cases, when dyeing suede or clothing leather, the new dyes have a better penetration capacity than the known dyes made from 1,3-diamino benzenes.
The new dyes encourage the dyeing of insufficiently through-dyed leather dyes. As a result of this valuable property, it is possible to mix the new dyes as a mixed component of such black leather dyes materials of a similar composition in which the through-dyeing capacity is not sufficient, which then improves the through-dyeing capacity and at the same time shifts the hue in the desired manner towards blue and thereby the undesired red cast of black dyeing on suede with known dyes can be eliminated.
- Dyestuff mixtures of this type can also be produced by mixing diazodisazo compounds, as they are used according to the invention, with a mixture of previously customary end components, such as m-phenylenediamine, m-toluylenediamine, m-aminophenol or their core or.
N-substitution products, combined with a 1,2- or 1,4-diamino or amino-oxy compound of the benzene series, the quantitative proportions of the latter coupling components being able to make up a more or less large percentage of the total coupling components used.
The dyes generally give less deep shades of color to leather because of the greater depth of penetration which the dyeing causes. By combining with surface colorants that do not color through but allow deep tones to be produced, one can combine good through-coloring, great depth of color and the desired floral hue in the desired manner.
Example 1 For one of 18.4 kg 4,4-diaminodiphenyl, 43 1 10 X x n hydrochloric acid and 14 kg techn. Sodium nitrite tetrazo solution prepared in the usual manner is allowed to run a neutral solution of the sodium salt of 29.8 kg of 1-amino-8-naphthol-3; 6-disulfonic acid at about 10-12. After several hours of stirring at this temperature, anhydrous sodium acetate is used to blunt only enough that Congo paper is still clearly blued.
The mixture is then stirred at this temperature until the 1-amino-8-naphthol-3; 6-disulfonic acid has practically disappeared, cooled to 0 with ice, and a diazo prepared from 7.8 kg of aniline in the usual way solution and allow an excess of a solution of sodium carbonate to run in at 5 to 10 until the reaction remains clearly alkaline. When the diazobenzene has disappeared, an aqueous solution of about 11 kg of 1,2-diaminobenzene is run in.
When the dye has formed, the dye is deposited by adding rock salt and neutralizing with hydrochloric acid, filtered and dried. It forms a dark, water-soluble powder that dyes cotton, artificial silk or leather in blue-black tones. The dyeings are acid-resistant. The dyeing is very good. The color of the solution of the dye in concentrated sulfuric acid is dark blue-violet.
If 1-amino-8-naphthol-4,6-disulfonic acid is used instead of 1-amino-8-naphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid, a dark, water-soluble powder is obtained which is in concentrated sulfuric acid with a dark green color. The dye dyes chrome or suede leather in greenish black tones.
By using, for example, 1,4-diaminobenzene, 4-chloro-1,2-diaminobenzene, 2-aminodiphenylamine, N-ethylamino-4-aminobenzene, N-dimethylamino-4-aminobenzene, N-diethylamino- 4-aminobenzene, N-methylamino-, N- isopropylamino-, N-cyclohexylamino-, N-benzylamino-2- or
-4-aminobenzene instead of 1,2 = diaminobenzene gives similar blue-black coloring products. Example 2 If in example 1, paragraph 1, instead of aniline, the equivalent amount of aniline-4-sulfonic acid is used, a dark dye powder is obtained that easily dissolves in water and in concentrated form Sulfuric acid dissolves with a dark blue-violet color.
Suede is dyed in dark blue tones. The dyeing is very good. Dyestuffs with similar properties are obtained if, instead of aniline-4-sulfonic acid, other aminobenzenesulfo- or carboxylic acids or carboxylic acids are used as diazo components.
Naphthylamine sulfonic acids can be used, for example 2-amino-1-methylbenzene-4- or -5-sulfonic acid 3-amino-1-methylbenzene-4- or 6-sulfonic acid 4-amino-1-methylbenzene-2- or -3 -sulphonic acid 4-acetylamine-2-aminobenzene-l-sulphonic acid 5-acetylamine-2-aminobenzene-l-sulphonic acid 4-aminophenylaminoethanesulphonic acid 2-,
-3- or -4-aminobenzoic acid 2-amino-1-methoxybenzene-4-sulfonic acid 4-amino-1-methoxybenzene-2 or -3-sulfonic acid 2-nitro-1-aminobenzene-4-sulfonic acid 4-nitro-1 -aminobenzene-2-sulfonic acid also cresidine, xylidine, chlorotoluidine sulfonic acids 1-naphthylamine-4-, -5-, -6-, -7-sulfonic acid 2-6-, -7- or -8-sulfonic acid 2 - -4,8-disulfonic acid 2_ -5.7- 2- -6.8- "1- -5,
7- "1- -4,8- 1- -3,6- or -3,8-disulfonic acid 1-aminobenzene-4-sulfonamide 2-amino-1-methylbenzene-4-sulfonamide 4-amino-l-methylbenzene- 2-sulfonamide 4-amino-1-methoxybenzene-2-sulfonamide. Example 3 In example 1, paragraph 1, 1-amino-2-oxybenzene is substituted for 1,2'-diaminobenzene or 1-amino-4-oxybenzene as a coupling component, the result is a dark powdered dye which dissolves well in water.
The color of the solution in concentrated sulfuric acid is a reddish dark blue.
The products dye leather in greenish blue-black or blue-black tones. The dyeing of velor and clothing leather is very good.
The closing coupling can take place in a neutral or alkaline medium.
If 4-methyl-2-amino-1-oxybenzene is used as the end component, a dye is obtained which dyes leather with a greenish black; with 4-N-methylamino-1-oxybenzene a blue black is obtained. Example 4 If the equivalent amount of 2-chloroaniline is used instead of 8s aniline in example 1, paragraph 1, a dark, water-soluble powder is obtained after separation and drying. The solution color in concentrated sulfuric acid is dark purple.
On eo leather you get a dark blue-green. The dyeing is very good. The corresponding paraffin, in which 2-chloroaniline-4-sulfonic acid is used instead of 2-chloroaniline and 2-aminophenol as the end component, dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a dark blue color and dyes leather dark green.
Instead of 2-chloroaniline, 4-chloroaniline or 2-chloroaniline-4- or -5-sulfonic acid or or -3-sulfonic acid can also be used in order to obtain corresponding dyes.
Example 5 A diazodisazo dye suspension prepared according to the information in Example 1 is mixed with a mixture of about 0.4 kg of 1-amino-3-oxybenzene and 0.8 as soon as the diazobenzene has disappeared kg 1,2-diaminobenzene combined.
After separating and drying, a dark, water-soluble dye powder is obtained, which dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a reddish dark blue color; it colors suede in lively blue-black tones. The dyeing is very good.
If the equivalent amount of aniline-4-silfonic acid is used instead of aniline and a mixture of about 0.4 kg of 1,2-diaminobenzene and about 0.8 kg of 1,3-diaminobenzene is used as the end component, this is obtained after the separation and drying a dark dye powder that dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a reddish, dark blue color and dyes suede in full blue-black tones. The dyeing is very good.
