Man löst.
Additional patent to main patent no. 326959 'Process for the production of metallizable disazo dyes It has been found that valuable metallizable disazo dyes are obtained if
EMI0001.0006
wherein R is a radical of the benzene or naphthalene series which has a substituent capable of forming metal complexes in the ortho position to the azo group, y hydrogen or a substituent,
for example the sulfonic acid group, one z CH; and the other z NH, with 1 mol of an azo component coupling in proximity to a hydroxyl group with the exception of acylamino-oxynaphthalenesulfonic acids and optionally the disazo dye obtained with a metal-releasing, preferably copper-releasing agent.
Azo components according to the definition are, for example, oxybenzenes, oxynaphthalenes, oxynaphthalenesilphonic acids, 5-pyrazolones and acylaetylamino compounds which couple in the vicinity of the hydroxyl group.
The disazo dyes obtainable by the new process dye cotton and regenerated cellulose fibers in orange-brown one 1 mole of the diazo compound from an aminomonoazo dye of the formula to purple tones, which by Nachbehan deln with metal donating agents such. B. copper sulfate, washable and lightfast.
Insofar as the solubility permits, the dyes can also be converted into the copper or nickel complex compounds in substance in a known manner, giving lightfast direct dyes.
The following examples serve to explain the invention in more detail. The parts indicated therein are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight, and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Example 1 The aminoazo dye obtained by coupling 18.7 parts of diazotized 2-amino-1-oxy-4-methyl-sulfonylbenzene with 37.2 parts of 2- (4'-amino-3'-methyl ) -benzoylamino - 5 - oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid in a soda-alkaline medium,
is stirred in 400 parts of water. The suspension is mixed with 7 parts of sodium nitrite and cooled to 6-8. At this temperature, 30 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid are added to it with stirring, and it is stirred for about 2 hours. The diazo suspension is allowed to run at 15-20 to a solution of 15 parts of 2-oxynaphthalene, 6 parts of sodium hydroxide and 30 parts of sodium carbonate in 400 parts of water. The disazo dye forms very quickly.
It is salted out of the warm solution by adding sodium chloride, then fil trated and dried at 90 in a vacuum. The new dye is a black powder that dissolves in water with a red color and colors cotton and fibers made from regenerated cellulose in lightfast red tones in the post-copper plating process.
Example 2 The aminoazo dye obtained by coupling 18.7 parts of diazotized 2-amino-1.-oxy-4-methylsulfonylbenzene with 37.2 parts of 2- (4'-amino-3'- methyl) benzoylamino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid is obtained in a soda-alkaline medium, is stirred into 400 parts of water and dianotized as described in the previous example.
The diazo suspension is allowed to flow at 15-20 parts into a solution of 30.5 parts of 1-oxynaphthalene-3,8-disulfonic acid and 40 parts of sodium carbonate in 500 parts of water. The disazo dye forms quickly. After about 2 hours, it is separated out from the warm solution by adding sodium chloride and filtered.
To convert the compound into the copper complex, the dye obtained is dissolved in 3000 parts of water at 80. The solution is cooled to 50-60, 200 parts of 25% ammonia are added to it and a solution of 25 parts of crystallized copper sulfate in 250 parts of water is allowed to flow into it at this temperature over the course of 30 minutes. As soon as excess copper sulfate can be detected in the outflow of a salted-out sample, the copper complex compound formed is separated off using sodium chloride, filtered off and dried in vacuo at 90 °.
The copper-containing disazo dye is in water with. soluble in red color and dyes cotton and fibers from regenerated cellulose in red shades of excellent lightfastness and good washfastness. The latter can be considerably improved by after-treating the dyeings with an optionally basic, cation-active copper complex compound. Example 3 To prepare the nickel complex compound of the disazo dye obtainable according to Example 2, one can proceed in a manner analogous to the copper plating.
The disazo dye is dissolved at 80 in 3000 parts of water. 200 parts of 25% ammonia are added to the solution at 60 and then the solution of 28.1 parts of crystallized nickel sulfate in 200 parts of water is allowed to flow into it at the same temperature. When the addition of the nickel sulfate solution is complete, the resulting nickel complex of the disazo dye is salted out, filtered off and dried.
It dissolves in water with a red color and dyes cotton and fibers made of regenerated cellulose in red shades of good lightness and washness. The latter can be significantly improved by aftertreating the dyeings with an optionally basic, cation-active copper complex compound.
The table below lists further disazo dyes obtainable by the present process. They are characterized by the diazotized aminoazo dyes and the azo components used for their structure, and also by the shades of the dyeings made with the disazo dyes.

One solves. 0.1 part of the metal-free disazo dye obtained in Example 1 in 300 parts of lime-free water. 10 parts of wetted cotton cloth are dyed in this liquor by heating the bath to the boil within 30 minutes, starting at a temperature of 30, and then keeping it at the boiling temperature for 15 minutes. In the course of the dyeing process, 3-4 parts of sodium sulfate in the form of a 10% solution are added to the bath in portions.
The dyed material is then allowed to cool to 50 in the liquor within 15-20 minutes, it is rinsed and subjected to an aftertreatment with copper sulfate or an optionally basic, cation-active copper complex compound.
The products metallized in substance are applied to the fiber in the same way; Post-treatment of the dyeings with copper salts, especially in connection with cation-active compounds, can in many cases also improve the properties.
Fibers made from regenerated cellulose are dyed like cotton.
