Ce bras 18 est articulé autour d'un axe 19 passant au travers d'une lumière 21 ménagée dans une ferrure 22 solidaire du battant 23. Ce bras 18 est porté, d'autre part, par deux ba gues 24-25, dans lesquelles il peut librement coulisser ; ces deux bagues sont articulées, l'une à l'extrémité d'un bras 32 solidaire du côté vertical mobile 34 d'un parallélogramme dé- formable, et l'autre à l'extrémité du prolonge ment du côté longitudinal 27 de ce parallélo gramme ;
Method for the detection in space of an object of small size and device for its implementation The present invention comprises a method for the detection in space of an object of small size, in particular applicable to the detection. , on textile machines, such as in particular weaving looms, threads accidentally being held in an irregular position as a result of a hook chage between layers of threads.
There is, in fact, in weaving, an accident the consequences of which are generally serious and which has so far not been the subject of any effective detector apparatus; to be avoided, this accident called outfit requires constant attention on the part of the worker, which can go, in the case of certain delicate fabrics, to the point where it is impossible for him to take his eyes off for a single instant. and, consequently, to ensure the servitude of several trades.
This accident is characterized, when it occurs behind the comb of the loom, by a disorder in the normal distribution of the threads between the upper ply and the lower ply formed by the warp which separates in two, according to the movement. controlled by the armor mechanics, to allow the passage of the shuttle. It is caused by an untimely hooking of the threads between them, due to various more or less frequent causes, such as bumps, tails of too long knots, broken threads, etc .; opposing their free movement, and maintaining in an irregular intermediate position a group of son, to.
in the middle of which the shuttle stings and passes ha sard.
It is manifested on the fabric by a generally very visible defect which can go as far as the real hole.
When the worker has not noticed this defect when it occurs, he must unravel all the part that has been woven since and if, through lack of attention, he does not notice it until the end. of a long delay, the resulting loss of time is significant and in some cases unwinding is not even possible.
In order to remedy this state of affairs, the present invention comprises a method consisting in using, in combination, a light source emitting a light beam in which is delimited a useful zone having, in cross section taken. at any point, the profile of the object to be detected, and a photoelectric cell controlling the operation of a mechanism when it is no longer impressed by the occultation of said useful area by said object .
The invention also comprises a device for implementing this method, with a view to detecting outfits occurring behind the comb of a loom, characterized by a photoelectric cell placed on one of the sides of the loom. , and by a light source which, placed on the other side of the loom, emits a light beam in which is limited a useful flat area, of thickness substantially equal to the section of a warp yarn, and animated an exploration movement between the two layers of warp threads,
so that any resistance occurring between the wires of these two layers causes the interception of said useful zone and, consequently, by the momentary interruption of the impression of the photoelectric cell, the operation of a mechanism, which can for example control the stopping of the loom or the triggering of any kind of signal.
In a particular embodiment, the device is neutralized when the pitch is closed, so that the triggering of said mechanism does not occur at each crossing of the layers of warp threads. This neutralization can be obtained in any suitable way, and more particularly by acting on the electric circuits which the photoelectric cell comprises.
The movement with which the useful zone of the light beam is animated for exploring the space between the two layers of warp yarns is advantageously a function of the opening movement of these layers.
It can be reduced to a simple horizontal movement from front to back, linked to that of the beater of the trade, but it can be completed by movements, vertical, controlled by cams, of appropriate profile, wedged on one of the trees of the trade, or by any other system.
Advantageously, use is made of two deformable parallelogram and triangle systems, each supported on the one hand on a cam wedged on the main shaft of the loom, and on the other hand on the leaf, and serving as a support. 'one to the light source and the other to the photocell.
In order that a very flat useful zone be delimited in any light beam, a particular embodiment of the device comprises two plates which, carried laterally to the loom by the aforementioned deformable systems, each have a slot in the loom. thickness of a warp wire, provided respec tively to the right of the light source and to the right of the photoelectric cell.
In a simplified embodiment of the device, the photoelectric cell and the light source have the same profile as the object to be detected, so that the useful zone of the light beam has automatically, in cross section taken at any point, the profile of said object to be detected, without there being any need to delimit this zone by a set of screens.
Thus, in one embodiment serving for the detection of outfits occurring behind the comb of a loom, the sensitive surface of the photoelectric cell and the filament of the light source have the form of a rectilinear strip having approximately the thickness of the warp threads, said photoelectric cell and said light source being fixed directly to the flap of the loom.
In one embodiment of the device used for detecting outfits on a loom, the concealment of the light beam by an outfit may not cause the loom to stop, but only trigger the temporary operation of a signal. whatever.
In certain fabrics, in fact, outfits without a gravity character frequently occur and the loom would be stopped unnecessarily while only certain outfits presenting a gravity character require stopping the loom.
It is therefore expected that the concealment of the light beam by an outfit only causes the temporary operation of a signal warning the user that an outfit has occurred, and that the stopping of the loom only occurs. if the same signal operates a certain number of times in succession, such as for example three or four times. The mechanism used to obtain this automatic shutdown after a certain number of operations of the signal may, of course, be arbitrary. In this way, only permanent or repeated outfits stop the job.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the device which the invention comprises, applied to the detection of outfits occurring behind the comb of a loom.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the essential parts of the first embodiment. Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view along 2-2 of FIG. 1.
Figs. 3, 4, 5 and 6 are side elevational views showing four successive positions occupied by the useful area of the light beam during an exploration.
Figs. 7 and 8 are perspective and sectional views along 8-8 of FIG. 7 of the second embodiment. In fig. 1 to 6, 2 designates the stringers controlling the upper ply 3 of the warp threads, and 4 the stringers controlling the lower ply 5. 6 designates the fabric made and 7 the last weft inserted into the fabric.
The implementation of the method that allows said embodiment of the device consists in exploring with the flat useful area 8 of a light beam, the space between the two layers of warp yarns 3 and 5, in such a way. so that, if a hold occurs between some of these threads, the result is a concealment of this useful zone which then momentarily ceases to impress a photoelectric cell 9, the assembly of which is such, which it commands from this moment the stopping of the trade or the triggering of a signal.
For this, the loom carries, on either side of the layers of warp yarns, the photoelectric cell 9 and a light source 10. These two elements are each placed behind a screen 12 and 13, respectively, in which is formed an elongated slot 14 and 15 respectively, the thickness of which is substantially equal to the diameter of a warp wire. The light source 10 is, of course, constituted by a lamp, the filament of which is as tight and straight as possible and is located in a plane passing through the two slits 14 and 15.
In order to obtain greater sensitivity of the device, the light rays are gathered as much as possible by an optical system 16 interposed between the screen 13 and the light source 10.
On the photocell side 9, a plate 17 forming an inlet tunnel is placed in front of the screen 12 around the slit 14, in order to protect said cell from ambient light, and a lens 43 concentrates the light rays on the surface. sensitive of this cell.
Given this assembly, it is conceivable that the photoelectric cell 9 located behind the screen 12 can react to the occultation of the useful zone 8 of the light beam by a single wire of chair coming from an outfit.
So that the useful zone 8 of the light beam can detect the presence of an outfit in the entire space between the two layers of warp yarns 3 and 5, as the pitch is opened It is of course necessary for the assembly of screens 12-13, photoelectric cell 9, optical system 16, and light source 10 to be driven by a movement of displacement dependent on the opening system of the -laps of wires 3 and 5 .
For this purpose, cell 9, lens 43 and screen 12, on the one hand, and light source 10, optical system 16 and screen 13, on the other hand, are each carried by an arm. 18 placed laterally to the loom.
This arm 18 is articulated around an axis 19 passing through a slot 21 formed in a fitting 22 integral with the leaf 23. This arm 18 is carried, on the other hand, by two bars 24-25, in which it can slide freely; these two rings are articulated, one at the end of an arm 32 integral with the mobile vertical side 34 of a deformable parallelogram, and the other at the end of the extension of the longitudinal side 27 of this parallelogram. gram;
the fixed vertical side 28 of this parallelogram is formed by a fitting integral with the frame of the loom and on which the sides 26 and 27 are articulated respectively at 29 and at 30.
It should be noted that the arm 32 connects the articulation axis of the ring 24 to the articulation axis 33 of the vertical side 34 of the parallelogram on the upper longitudinal side 27, and that this arm 32 is twice longer than the distance between the axis of articulation of the ring 25 and the aforementioned axis 33.
It is further noted that the total length of the arm 27, i.e. the distance between the fixed axis 30 of articulation and the axis of articulation of the ring 25 is. equal to the distance separating the last weft inserted into the fabric 7 and said axis of articulation of the ring 25, when the arm 18 is located exactly in the extension of the arm 27.
The exploration movement of the useful area 8 of the light beam is obtained by deformation of the parallelogram 26-27-28-34, the lower arm 26 of which is applied by a spring 35 in contact with a cam 36 wedged on a shaft 37 of the trade, shaft on which is also wedged a crank pin 38 connected by a connecting rod 39 to the leg of the leaf 23.
It will be understood that the exploration movement effected by the useful zone 8 of the light beam between the layers of warp yarns 3 and 5 will have a profile which is a function of that of the cam 36. This profile can be any. However, it is advantageously of the type shown in the drawing.
In this case, in fact, the useful zone of the light beam is constrained, starting from the position shown in FIG. 3, position in which the leaf is forward and the step is closed, to move backwards, while diving as shown in fig. 4, then to go up when the step has opened, as shown in fig. 5, and finally to go back down while coming back forwards, when the step closes as shown in fig. 6.
It is therefore conceivable that, whatever the position of the wires 41 accidentally maintained in an irregular position as a result of holding 42, they will obscure the useful zone 8 of the light beam at a certain moment of its exploration movement, thus causing stopping the loom or the operation of a signal.
In the case of the second embodiment shown in fig. 7 and 8, the light beam 8 has a very flat useful area having substantially the same thickness as the warp yarns 3 and 5 in their irregular position 41 without there being any need to have screens of suitable profile on the sides of the loom.
Indeed, the light source 44 has a filamenx 45 having this profile and the sensitive surface 46 of the photoelectric cell 47 is itself in the form of a rectilinear strip having approximately the same thickness. In front of this cell is placed a plate 17 forming an entrance tunnel, in order to protect said cell from ambient light.
Cell 47 can be of the photo resistance type, and has high sensitivity. It is therefore possible to eliminate any optical system in front of the light source 44 and of the cell 47. It may however be advantageous, in order to reduce the power of the light source 44, to keep an optical system in front. of the light source 44, in order to concentrate the light rays.
In this case, in order not to be obliged to use again a set of screens comprising elongated slits, the optical system can be constituted by two cylindrical lenses 48 which do not modify the thickness of the useful zone of the light beam 8. .
In addition, due to the high sensitivity of the cell 47, it is not necessary that the useful zone of the light beam 8 be strictly contained in a plane passing through the last inserted frame 7, but only that the position of the zone 8 of the light beam coincides approximately with the warp threads to be detected. It is therefore possible to fix the photoelectric cell 47 and the light source 44 directly on the leaf of the loom, in a suitable position, of course.
