Abstract

This device, of the "warp-breakage" kind, comprises strips 1, arranged in rows, which are traversed and supported by the warp yarns 6. At least one electrooptic system, with an emitter 7 and a receiver 8, generating a light beam 9 which extends parallel to the rows of strips 1, is provided beneath the strips 1. Breakage of a warp yarn 6A results in the corresponding strip 1A falling, which causes the light beam 9 to be cut off. The receiver 8 detects this cut-off and then triggers the stoppage of the loom.
