Device for separating the stones and the herbs from the potatoes in a harvesting machine
When potatoes are digged out of the earth, stones, earth and various plant parts such as root fibers, potato tops, etc., follow with the potatoes. In the case of potato harvesting machines, the treatment of the material brought out usually consists of sorting on belt or rotary sieves. However, this sorting method is imperfect because the size of the potatoes varies too much for the sifting process to achieve a satisfactory removal of stones; the removal of foreign parts of plants is also difficult and imperfect.
In some harvesting machines sorting is carried out according to a different principle. The material is transported up in the machine by an inclined chain conveyor, which reaches from the receiving point for the unsorted material directly above the ground to a height, and then onto a flexible, endless sorting track with an uninterrupted conveyor. flat dispensed, which is attached so
that a position between the end rollers of this sorting line is located vertically below the top carrier roller of the chain conveyor and that the position and the position of the sorting line correspond to those of the chain conveyor. The effect of the sorting track is based on the fact that the herb is carried along with the sorting track in an upward direction, while the potatoes are able to roll down the sorting track in a direction which is opposite to its direction of movement.
These Masehinen show the deficiency that the rolling down of the potatoes is often prevented by the rest of the material reaching the sorting line. In order to remedy this deficiency, the track is given a fairly strong incline, but this has only a small effect and furthermore aids the rolling down of stones together with the potatoes, which is undesirable.
It has been shown that these deficiencies can be greatly suppressed, and that sorting material of a previously unknown purity and with an extremely low content of n stones can be achieved if, according to the present invention, opposite the upper end of the chain conveyor and transversely to its conveying direction and a fixed baffle plate made of material capable of throwing back the root crops dropped by the chain conveyor is attached to the movement direction of the sorting belt.
The effect of this measure is based on the fact that healthy, fresh potatoes are thrown back much more strongly than soil, root fibers, herbs and stones when they hit a surface. The surface does not need to be particularly hard for this purpose and can be covered with an adhesive layer of earth. As a result, the potatoes hit the sorting path at points which are lower than the points where the other mentioned material parts meet. This gives the potatoes an unimpeded opportunity to roll down the sorting path against the direction of movement of the path.
This enables stones to be separated from potatoes, because the stones hit the baffle plate with a loss of energy, so that they fall vertically, while the potatoes spring back elastically.
By varying the inclination of the track you can achieve that the potatoes roll faster than the track moves up, while the inclination is not so great that the stones roll down.
The inclination should therefore advantageously not be fixed, but adjustable in relation to the rest of the machine, because the position of the same in relation to the vertical direction varies with the direction of the ground, while the speed of movement of the conveyor surface generally depends on the speed of travel .
The baffle plate should not be able to bring about an elastic throwing back of the stones. It is therefore advisable to make the baffle plate from wood.
The sorting on a sorting line can in some cases be repeated with good results, for which purpose a further sorting line can be attached under the topmost discarding roller of the first-mentioned sorting line and, on the other hand, a further baffle plate. As a result, potatoes which have been fed up through the first sorting line can be returned to the second sorting line, whereby the loss is reduced to a minimum.
The invention is to be explained in more detail below by describing an embodiment which is in no way binding for the invention, but only serves as an example to illustrate essential features of the invention - with reference to the drawing - in which the figure is shown schematically Section shows an embodiment of the sorting device according to the invention, which is used in connection with a root crop harvesting machine with tractor drive.
In the drawing, 1 and 2 denote the support arms of the tractor, the position of which can be changed in relation to one another in a manner known per se in such a way that a machine connected to these arms can be raised or lowered;
3 denotes a main transverse ball belonging to the Alasehine, and 4 denotes the one of two upright beams. The beam 3 is connected by means of rods 5 on the sides of the machine to a lower transverse beam 6 which has forward arms 7 which pass directly above the surface of the earth and which at their front end carry a plow or plow 8 which is used to peel the earth serves, in which the root crops are located, so that the earth with the root crops, withered or frisehem herbs, grass, weeds, stones etc. contained in it lands on the top of the Sehar.
The shape of the hooks or plows suitable for this is well known.
The lower crossbeam 6 is also connected by means of bearings 9 to a carriage frame 10 which has wheels 11 at the rear and which in the embodiment shown carries boxes 12 and 13 for receiving the ripe roots sorted by the sorting device. The boxes 12 and 13 are arranged so that they can easily be pulled out to the side and emptied; Incidentally, they can be replaced by elevators that are known per se, by means of which the early roots can be transported sideways near a wagon that runs next to the harvesting machine.
Also connected to the main transverse beam 3 are longitudinal girders 14 which are supported by tension straps 15, which are connected partly at a point 1'6 of the girders and partly at the upper end of the upstanding beams that are connected to the Sehlepperarmarm 1 are attached. The upper end of a chain 1'8 is fastened to the supports 14, the lower end of which is fastened to the carriage frame 10 and has the task of lifting the carriage frame when it is not allowed to touch the ground when the tractor is being maneuvered.
The upper, rear end of the frame 19 of an elevator is also attached to the girders 14, the lower, front end of which rests on the upper side of the earth collected on the flock and may be viewed with a weight 20 and with a chain 21 to the main crossbeam 3 or to a forward-facing arm 22 extending from the same. The elevator can be a conveyor device with rods which are attached to chains by means of rod holders, which are guided around two pairs of chain rollers 23 and 24 4.
The elevator 19 helps to bring the material brought out by the crowd onto a conveying device with bars which has the task of conveying the material up to the sorting device and of distributing and sorting the same during the conveyance.
This rod conveyor consists of a conveyor frame 25 with end rollers 26 and 27 attached to the girders 14, over which chains are guided, the individual links of which carry the holders of the rods 28. Vibration combs 29 are attached to the conveyor frame 25.
Two support rods 30 and 31 are also attached to the conveyor frame 25 at a small distance above the bars of the upper conveyor track, which serve to attach a tow cloth 32, the weight of which rests against the upper side of the material being transported up by means of the farder device and has the task of to distribute this and to prevent the root crops from rolling backwards because of the shaking movement that the upper part of the conveyor device experiences. A screen 33 on the underside of the conveyor device prevents sieved earth and small stones from falling down into the box 12 .
By means of supports 34, which are hinged to the side pieces of the conveyor frame 25 near the upper end of the same, a flexible, endless sorting track with an uninterrupted front surface is so attached. # A point 45 lying between the end rollers 43 and 44 of the sorting path is located vertically below the uppermost carrier roller 27 of the chain conveyor. The inclination and conveying direction of the sorting path 36 match those of the chain conveyor.
By means of an adjusting screw 36, the inclination of the sorting track relative to the rest of the device can be adjusted so that a desired angle with respect to the horizontal within 115 to 35 ° can be maintained.
In a similar way, a sorting belt 38 is also connected to the former and can be adjusted relative thereto by means of an adjusting screw 3ri. The mode of operation of the sorting device consisting of the two sorting belts 35 and 38 is described above. The elevator 19, the conveyor device 25 to 28 and the sorting belts 35 and 38 are driven by means of transmissions (not shown) on their one end roller from the drive shaft of the tractor in such a direction that the lower side of the elevator 19 and the upper sides of the conveyor device and the two sorting belts receive an upward movement.
39 denotes a buffer bridge consisting of a wooden plate, which is attached to the frame of the sorting sieve 315 by means of supports 42. The buffer bridge extends from side to side of the sorting conveyor belt at such a distance above the rising part of the belt that items to be sorted lying on the belt can be freely conveyed, and is arranged so close to the end of the rod conveyor 25 to 28 ,
that the majority of the root crops that are lifted up in this way hit the buffer bridge when thrown and are thus pushed back in advance in the direction near the lower end of the sorting belt.
