<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
Das in geeigneter Weise an der Innenseite der Leitung 10 befestigte Membraneleinent 61 erstreckt sieh mit. seinem stromaufwärtsliegen- den Endteil über den Haltering $\' in Richtung der Strömung, wobei es derart eingeschnürt ist, dass es einen die engste Durchlassstelle 60 bildenden Hals aufweist;
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Gelenstand air conditioning system: the present invention is an air conditioning system with an air supply line.
When operating air conditioning systems of a known type, especially those with one-hole pressurized air. In working systems, the noise that occurs when the air escapes into the room to be conditioned has proven to be particularly unpleasant and therefore undesirable. One of the particularly important factors in such systems is:
change in the air supply, which occurs frequently as a result of pressure changes in the air supply line and the changing air requirement. One of the difficulties that arise when controlling the air flow in such an air supply line lies in the problem of control - a control device that is sufficiently sensitive to respond, for example, a flow control valve or a flow throttle, even with small pressures:
to bring about changes.
The invention aims primarily to provide a mixed layer of the type mentioned, which has a flow control device by means of which an approximately constant air flow is automatically maintained at all times in an air line in which frequent pressure changes occur.
A further aim is to design the control device in such a way that it has a greater response sensitivity than control devices of known design, without the need for additional control devices.
The system according to the invention is characterized in that the said control device has a passage which is arranged in the line and is narrowed in relation to the passage cross section of the same - Can be changed in order to keep the flow constant volumetrically through the line.
The control motor can be used, for example, to adjust two plates provided with openings relative to one another in such a way that the opening cross-section, which is available to the air passing through, is changed.
In the accompanying drawing, the subject of the invention is shown for example; It shows: FIG. 1 a part of the air line of a first example of the system according to the invention in longitudinal section with associated control device, FIG. 2 in longitudinal section part of a second example of the system according to the invention, FIG. 3 in longitudinal section a part of a third example of the plant according to the invention and
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
4 shows in longitudinal section part of a fourth example of the plant according to the invention.
The system partially shown in FIG. 1 has an air supply line 10 through which air flows in the direction of arrow F from a source (not shown) into a chamber A and leaves the latter through an outlet B. The air flow control device, generally designated 11, has a fixed plate 12 and a movable plate 11. The two plates extend transversely through the duct 10 and bear against one another with their sides facing one another.
Every plate is. With. a plurality of openings are provided, which are arranged so that in the normal position of the movable plate 14 the openings in one plate are in alignment with the openings of the other plate and together form a narrowed passage in the line compared to the cross section of the line 10 10 form which all the air flowing through the line 10 must pass. The plate 14 is downstream of the plate 1? arranged in the line 10 and is laterally displaceable with respect to the plate 12. To move the plate 14 is. a regulating device is provided, which is described in more detail below.
The plate 14 is displaceable into a lateral end position in which the openings in the two plates are completely out of alignment. are with each other, so that parts of the plate 14 the openings of the plate 1? cover.
Said regulating device has a vane motor. The motor has a housing 17 in which a vane 18 is rotatably mounted on a stationary shaft 19. The wing 18 is articulated by a lever 20 and an intermediate link 1 to an arm 22 which is attached to the plate 14. Pressurized fluid from line 10 is used to operate the vane motor:
The fluid pressure in the engine is controlled by means of a device 2: 3 in such a way that the size of the passage of the plates 12, h1 changes as a function of the pressure prevailing in the outlet chamber El. becomes. In the example shown, the device 23 is a slide device which has a fixed housing 24 and a control slide 24c which is displaceable with respect to the latter. owns.
The control slide '? 4a. can be actuated by a bellows 25 responding to Druckändei-Lingen. The bellows' 5 is arranged in the chamber A, its interior being connected to the atmosphere by a pipe? 16. In the interior of the bellows 25, a compression spring 36 is arranged which seeks to hold the bellows in its expanded position. Accordingly, the vane motor is under the influence of pressure changes in the fluid chamber .1, and since the outlet B has an invariable cross-sectional area, the mentioned pressure changes are a function of the air flow through the narrowed opening formed by the plates 12, 11.
Various types of control elements are suitable for controlling the engine. 1, a central opening 27 is provided in the housing 24, which is connected to the air supply line 10 by a line 28 upstream of the narrowed opening. To the side of the opening 27, openings 30 and 31 are provided, to which a line 3 'or 33 is connected, which two lines lead to the opposite ends of the wing motor housing. Furthermore, ventilation openings 34 and 35 are provided on the two end parts of the C housing 24.
In the case? 4 is. an elongated chamber 29 is formed into which said openings open. The control slide 24a extending through the chamber? 9. has two axially spaced apart control parts 29a and. 2: 9b, which alternate with the housing openings leading to the vane motor. the air supply opening 27 and connect to the ventilation openings.
It is. note that the position of the movable plate 1-1 is determined by the pressure in the chamber A. is .. The spring 36 holds the control slide 24a normally in a position in which the opening 31, which is located in the drawing below the wing 18-
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The chamber communicates with the inlet opening 27, while the chamber located above the wing 18 in the drawing is in communication with the atmosphere through the line 32 via the openings 30 and 34.
In this position of the control valve, pressurized fluid passes from the supply line 10 into the motor chamber located below the wing 18 and lifts the wing, whereby the plate 14 is moved into its lower end position in which the openings 15 in this plate with the Openings 1.3 in the fixed plate 12 in alignment. are:
When the air flow in the line 10 increases, the pressure prevailing in the chamber A acts on the bellows 25, which in turn moves the control slide 24a upwards in FIG. 1 against the action of the spring 36 so that the opening 31 is initially closed and then with. of the opening 3 5 while the inlet port 27 is connected to the opening 30.
As a result! the vane 18 is pivoted according to the pressure change downstream of the fixed plate 12 in the line 10. This results in a displacement of the movable plate 14 with respect to the plate 12 in the sense of a reduction in the cross-sectional area of the passage formed, in such a way that a constant flow of air is maintained through the openings, regardless of the change in diameter in the flow of air. The power required to operate the control motor 23 is consumed by the pressure fluid in the line 10.
Another embodiment of the volume control, which is connected upstream of the airflow damper, is shown in FIG. 2. A plate 45 extends near the dimensioning outlet openings 44 across the air supply line 10. The discharge through these openings 44 is controlled by a metering piston 43. The plate 45 has a central opening 46 through which the air flowing in the line 10 reaches the openings 44. The plate edge present around the opening 46 serves as a seat for a valve body 47.
The valve body 47 is axially movable relative to the opening 46 in the sense of enlarging or reducing the diameter of the cross-sectional area of the opening 46. The valve body 47 can be actuated by a bellows motor 4'8 and for this purpose is connected in an articulated manner to the bellows motor 48 by a link 53b, a lever 53a and an actuating rod 53. The arrangement of the elements 53a and 53b is such that the rod 53- can move in a straight line.
The bellows motor 48 has a flexible bellows 54 which is normally held in its compressed position by a compression spring 51. The spring 51 is supported at one end on one end of said bellows 54 and at the other end on a stationary one. Stop plate 52 from which the rod 53 serves as a guide. The other end of the bellows 54 is held in place. The interior of the bellows 54 is connected by a line 55 to a point of the air supply line 10 located upstream of the narrowed opening 46. To ventilate the bellows 4 $, the latter is connected to a line 55 ′ with an outlet opening 516, which forms a continuation of the line 55.
A control motor 49, which controls the pressure in the bellows motor 48, has a flexible bellows which is connected to the air supply line 10 downstream of the plate 45. This bellows is exposed on the outside to atmospheric pressure. The free end of this bellows is attached to a valve rod 5, 8 which carries a needle valve 59 which cooperates with the opening 5'6 of the vent line 5Y.
A compression spring 60 holds the bellows 49 normally in its compressed position; this spring pressure can be overcome by the pressure prevailing downstream of the narrowed opening in the line 10 if this pressure is large enough to be able to overcome the spring pressure.
The spring 58 holds the valve 59, normally with respect to the opening 5, 6 in the open position, so that the interior of the bellows 54 is in communication with the atmosphere, at the same time the opening 46 in the plate 45 is completely
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
is open. If the air flow in the line l0 increases, it increases. the pressure prevailing downstream of the opening 46 in the line 10 and in the bellows 49. As a result, the bellows 49 is expanded and the valve 59 is accordingly moved towards its closed position.
When the vent 56 is closed, increases. the pressure in bellows 54 increases rapidly and the bellows expands considerably; as a result, the valve 47 is moved against the seat formed by the edge of the opening -16 in the sense of reducing the cross-sectional area of the opening 46; this in turn results in the air flow through the opening 46 being kept constant. It goes without saying that the same control device can also be arranged on the other side of the measuring piston 43.
Another embodiment of a flow control device of an air conditioning system is shown in FIG. 3, shown. This device is also. upstream of a dimensioning piston, not shown, to the air supply line 10. Here too, the air flowing to the dimensioning openings 44 in the air supply pipe 10 flows through the control device.
The control device has a flexible membrane element 61, which has the shape of a Venturi tube and is inserted into the line 10. is that an annular pressure chamber 64 is formed between the element 61 and the line wall. At the upstream end of the membrane element 61 is a retaining ring 6 '? s is provided, which is bent inwardly from the pipe wall in the direction of flow.
The membrane element 61 fastened in a suitable manner to the inside of the line 10 extends with it. its upstream end part over the retaining ring $ \ 'in the direction of the flow, wherein it is constricted in such a way that it has a neck forming the narrowest passage point 60;
following this neck, the membrane element expands again to the inner diameter of the line 10, to which it is also attached here. It goes without saying that both ends of the membrane element 61 are attached to the line wall in a fluid-reversed manner, so that any leakage connection between the interior of the line 10 upstream of the constriction and the pressure chamber 64 past the element 61 is avoided.
The pressure chamber 64 receives its pressure from a point of the line 10 which is upstream of the passage 60, specifically by means of the line 63, and it normally stands with it through an opening 65 in the line wall. the atmosphere in connection, being with. the vent opening a \ adelventil 66 cooperates. The needle valve 66 is connected to the bellows motor 67 by a lever 68, the lever 68 being supported between its ends on a stationary axle 69.
The interior of the bellows 67 is connected to the line 10, specifically at a point located downstream of the narrowed passage opening 60 of this line. When the flow in the line 1.0 increases, the bellows 67 expands and the needle valve 66 is moved towards the vent opening 65, so that the cross-sectional area of this opening 65 is reduced. As a result, the pressure in the chamber 64 rises and the membrane element 6, 1 constricts.
As a result, the cross-sectional area of the narrowest point 6'0 of the passage is reduced in accordance with the increase in pressure on the downstream side of this narrowed point in the sense of keeping the air flow constant through the line 10.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 4, the control device arranged in the line 10 has two plates 70 and 71 resting against one another and provided with openings. The two plates extend over part of the line cross-section transversely through the line 10. The plates 70, 71 are designed similarly to the plates of the example shown in FIG. The part of the line cross-section left free by the plates 70, 71 is closed off by a wall 7'_ 'which forms part of the control motor housing 80.
The plate 71 is laterally opposite the plate 70 from a position in which the openings 73 in the
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
Plate 71 with the openings 74 in the plate 70 in fluelite can be displaced into positions in which the openings. 7-1 are partially or completely covered by parts of the plate 71. The plate 71 is provided with laterally projecting pegs 76 (only one is visible in FIG. 1). The pins 76 arranged on the upper edge of the plate are guided in recesses 75 of a fog 77 which forms one arm of an angle lever.
The other arm of this lever is formed by a plate 7, 9, which forms a pressure-actuatable wing which is arranged in the control motor housing 80. The front wall 7? of the housing 80 lies transversely to the flow path of the air flowing through the line 10 and is provided with an opening 81 through which compressed air can flow into the housing 30 for actuating the wing 79.
The side of the wing 79 on the side facing away from the wall 72, placed in the housing 80, communicates with a chamber D on the downstream side of the control device through a plurality of ventilation openings 82 in the housing wall.
The wing 79 is normally held by a leaf spring 83 in a position in which the openings 73 of the plate 71 with the openings 7-1 of the plate 70 in alignment. are. If, however, the pressure on the wing side facing the wall 72 rises due to an increase in the flow in the line 10, the angle lever is pivoted and the plate 71 becomes equal to the plate 70 according to the difference between the two sides of the wing 79 prevailing pressures shifted.
The narrowed openings 82 inhibit the escape of compressed air from the housing 80 into the chamber D, so that the openings 7-1 in the plate 70 are only closed so far that the air flow through the line 10 is kept constant.
