Dye Preparation for Dyeing Wool The present invention relates to a novel permanent dye preparation for dyeing wool.
When dyeing wool according to your (= \ lii-omat- or metaehrom process), the wool is treated with a solution of the chromable dye, which is a solution of a chromium stain, that is, an alkali metal chromate (which is obtained by adding ammonia to the corresponding bichroma .t can be formed) and ammonium silfate-containing solution has been added.
In these processes, a large excess of chromate must be used to ensure the formation of the chromium complex within a time suitable for practical purposes. lead to the end.
It has now been found that by using a product which contains the dye, a reducing agent and bichromate in the chromate process, a rapid and practically complete conversion of the soluble dye into one containing one atom of bromine for every two molecules of the dye Complex can be achieved if the theoretical amount or a small excess over the theoretically required amount of the chromium compound is used.
The solid, stable dye preparation according to the invention is. characterized in that it contains an honorable dye, 0.25-1 mol ammonium or alkali metal bichromate per 1M1 of the dye and a reducing agent.
The product can also contain one or more diluents, such as. B. table salt, Glauber's salt or dextrin, so da.ss it has a coloring power suitable for practical purposes.
When dyeing wool with the new dye preparation, it is advisable to add a weakly acidic salt to the dye bath, e.g. B. 2 to 3% ammonium sulfate or -a, acetate (based on the weight of the wool to be dyed) to add, whereby the dyeing process is made wesent Lich easier.
An honorable dye is to be understood as meaning any dye that is capable of forming chromium complexes, such as B. an o, o'-dioxy-azo dye.
Examples of reducing agents that are suitable for the new dye product are sodium thiosulfate and hexamethylene tetramine. The amount of the reducing agent can be changed within wide limits. However, if sodium thiosulphate is used, it is usually expedient to use an amount of about 0.25-0.5 moles of the reducing agent for each mole of the dye.
For dyeing wool, the dye preparation containing the dye, the Biehromat and the reducing agent can be added to the water of the dye liquor together with ammoniumaeeta.t or sulfate, the wool can be introduced into the dye liquor and the dyeing can be carried out by heating the dye liquor to its boiling point Stir at boiling point for about 20 minutes to 1 hour.
With most of the chromable monaazo dyes usually used in practice to carry out the chromate process, a dyeing time of about 30 minutes is generally sufficient if a dye preparation according to the present invention is used while the chromate process is carried out in the usual way "for a long time, e.g.
B. about 1 hour is required borrowed.
The dyeings obtained using the dye preparation according to the present invention generally have the same good fastness to washing, drumming, perspiration and carbonization as the dyeings obtained using the conventional chromate process using the same dye, however, generally have a slightly glow, their hue.
