Temperature control device The present invention relates to a temperature control device for controlling the temperature of a room to which cold and warm air is supplied via two ducts.
The device according to the invention is characterized by a pneumatic drive element controlling the air supply to one of these lines, pressure-sensitive means which control this drive element and which are themselves controlled by temperature-sensitive means.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 is used to explain the manner in which the device works, Fig. 2 shows a view of the device, Fig. 3 shows a section along the line 3-3 in Fig. 2, Fig. 4 shows a section through the thermostat , Fig. 5 shows a section along the line 5 in Fig. 3, Fig. 6 shows a section along the line 6-6 in Fig. 5,
and FIG. 7 shows, on a larger scale, a partial section along the line 7-7 in FIG.
In Fig. 1, 10 denotes a room wel chem via lines 11, 12 air is supplied. The arrows 13, 14 indicate the flow directions. The line 12 brings cold air and is connected to a corresponding source, this line always remains open. In order to condition the air in the room 10, hot air must be supplied via the line 11 under relatively moderately high pressure. A flap 16 is installed in this line. However, other closing organs could also be used.
This flap 16 is arranged on a shaft 17 which is connected to one end of an 'arm 18, while the other end 19 of this arm is in operative connection with an actuating rod 20 of a drive member.
This organ 2.1 has a housing which consists of two shell-shaped parts 22, 23, a flexible diaphragm 24 being clamped between the edges of the parts 22, 23. This diaphragm divides the housing into two chambers 25, 27. The former is over an opening 26 connected to the outer atmosphere, while the other is connected via a line 28 to a control mechanism 30.
The rod 20 is slidably disposed in an opening in the lower wall 31 of the part 22. The line 11 also has an opening through which this rod is guided. The play of the rod 20 in the opening of the wall 31 is small enough that no hot air can seep into the chamber 25. A spring 33 is arranged in the chamber 25 and loads the diaphragm 24 in the sense of closing the flap 16.
The control mechanism 30 is connected via the line 34 upstream with respect to the flap 16 to the line 11, the lines 28 and 34 opening into a borehole 36. The mouths of these lines in this hole Lei are arranged coaxially.
A plunger 37 is slidably disposed in the bore 3-6. An annular groove 38 divides this tappet into two parts 39, 40. The groove 38 is arranged in such a way that it allows pressure to be transmitted from the line 34 via the line 28 to the chamber 27. This transmission is, however, controlled by the ram 37.
The mechanism 30 has a housing 42 in which the bore 36 is located and which has a chamber 43. A cap 44 is attached to this housing 42 in such a way that a diaphragm 45 is clamped between the edges of the housing and the cap and that this diaphragm and the cap define a chamber 50.
The middle part of this diaphragm is reinforced by two plates 48, 49 having a smaller diameter than the chamber 43. The plunger 37 has a head 52 which pushes against the diaphragm 45 and is loaded by a spring 54 which is arranged between the base of the chamber 43 and the head 52 and moves the plunger from left to right (FIG. 1).
The variable space 55 between the bottom of the bore 3 3 6 and the end of the plunger 37 is connected to the chamber 43 via a bore 56, so that the air pressure acting on the plunger is the same on both sides. Thus, undesired pressure conditions in space 55 which impair the mode of operation of the mechanism are balanced.
A spring 60 is located between the diaphragm 45 and the base of a smaller diameter; facing part 61 of the cap 44 in the chamber 50 and strives. To move the plunger from right to left (Fig. 1), The chamber 43 is via an opening 62 with the line 28 and an opening 61 with the chamber 50 connected. The chamber 50 is connected to the room 10 via a line 65 and a thermostat 66. The thermostat 66 is net angeord in this room and therefore responds to the temperature in this room.
The pressure on the diaphragm 24 in the chamber 27 tends to open the flap 16 against the action of the spring 33 and is determined by the control mechanism of the thermostat 6'6.
The pressure in the line 11 is transmitted to the chamber 27 and controlled by the plunger 37. There. the chamber 43 is connected to the line 28 via the opening 62, this pressure tends to move the diaphragm 45 to the right (FIG. 1), so that the spring 54 also moves the plunger 37 to the right, whereby the pressure is transmitted to Chamber 27 is throttled. The prevailing pressure in the chamber 43 transfers see through the opening 64 into the chamber 50, whereby in connection with. the action of the spring 60 of the plunger 37 is again moved from right to left.
Since the thermostat 66 is exposed to the temperature in the room 10, this temperature is controlled by this thermostat, in the sense that a predetermined temperature is maintained in this room. The line 34 is ruled out at a nipple 70 (Fig. 2). The air. from the line 11 passes through bores 34a, 34b (Fig. 6) and an inlet 71 in the annular groove 72 of the plunger guide body 73, this body is arranged by in a bore of the housing 42 to.
From the annular groove 72, the pressure gap passes through the radial bore 74 into the annular groove 38 of the plunger 37 when the latter is open. About the. radial channels 75 and the axial channels 76 it reaches the chamber 43 and to the inlet 76a (Fig. 5), which is connected to an elbow 77 (Fig. 2) connected to the line 28. The connection 64 between the chambers 43 and 50 consists of the outlet 80, the bore 81, the bore 82, which has a smaller diameter, and the inlet 83 (Fig. 7).
An adjusting screw 85 with a point 87 is arranged in a larger bobbin 86. The tip 87 cooperates with a shoulder surface 88 which is provided at the connection of the bores 81, 8 "21. A locking nut 89 allows the screw 85 to be blocked and a cap 90 covers the end of this screw.
The pressure in the chamber 50 transmits siele via inlets 92, 93 (Fig. 6) into the chamber 94, which states via the annular space 95 (Fig. 4) between the body 96 of the thermo states 66 and a hollow part 97 of the same with an annular groove 98 is connected, the latter being connected to the interior of the body 96 via radial channels 100.
The body 96 has a bore 10'2 with a thread through which a key 101, the head of which also has a thread, is inserted in the body 96.
The cooling element 101 has a guide 103 which protrudes into the interior 99 of the body 9 @ 6, with a ball valve 106 being arranged in an iixial bore 105 of this guide which controls the transition between the bores 105 and 110, with the axial bore 110 is connected via radial bores 111 to an annular space 112, which via an opening 113 with. connected to the outside atmosphere.
The ball valve 106 is connected to one end of a carrier 115 which has a part 116 which is arranged displaceably in a bore of a hollow piston 117, this piston 117 being connected to the end of a rod 118. The head 120 of the carrier 115 limits its upward movement with respect to the piston 117, a spring 121 arranged on a piston 117 moving this carrier upward (Fig. 4). On the other hand, a spring 121 arranged between the lower end of the guide 103 and the lower end of the piston 117 moves the piston 117 downward. The rod 118 is guided in an axial bore 125 of a tubular Ele mentes 126 which has a threaded rib 127 on the outside.
The expansion coefficients of the stant 118 and element 126 are different, so that expansion of the latter will lift the valve 106 from its seat and control the air flow through the bore 110. The bore 129 in the guide 103 connects the interior 99 of the body 96 with the upper part of the interior 1.05 of the plug 101.
