Le moteur constitué par le rotor 5a et le stator 5 est alimenté en triphasé depuis une source S à travers un interrupteur 70 con trôlé à la main ;
Device allowing the needle of a sewing machine to be immobilized in the position of dead center top or bottom </ B> The present invention relates to a positive device allowing the immobilization of the needle of a sewing machine in the top or bottom dead center position, characterized by a double motor comprising integral rotors while:
the stators supplied by two different circuits are one fixed and the other movable, the latter connected to a ball-bearing device, controlling the longitudinal displacement of a shaft on which are mounted, of a on the one hand, at least one clutch connecting the rotors to the transmission driving the sewing machine and, on the other hand, a brake,
while a two-position contactor, a timer switch and a double switch are interposed in the supply circuit of a relay controlling switches controlling the supply circuit of the mobile stator.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device forming the subject of the invention, as well as a variant.
Fig. 1 is an elevation, partly in section, of a part of said embodiment. Fig. 2 is an elevation of another part of the device.
Fig. 3 is an axial section, on a larger scale, of this other part. Fig. 4 is a section taken along the line IV-IV of FIG. 3.
Fig. 5 is an electrical diagram of the positive device.
Fig. 6 is a partial section through a variant of an element of the device.
We see in fig. 1 a double com motor carrying an outer casing 1. Resting on a base 2 for fixing the motor either on a sewing machine or on the table for the sewing machine. A hollow pin 3 is fixed to the housing 1 by a conical sleeve seal 4.
The hollow shaft 3 supports, on the one hand, a stator 5 of a first motor, then on the other hand, a sleeve 6 wedged by a ball bearing 7. The sleeve 6 is extended by a ramp disk 8 comprising from place to place of housing 9, the role of which will be explained below. The stator 10 of a second motor is mounted on the sleeve 6.
A rotor cage 11 can rotate with respect to the hollow axis 3 due to the interposition of ball bearings 13 between the arms 12 of the rotor cage 11 and the hollow axis 3.
5a designates the rotor cooperating with the stator 5, while 10a designates the rotor cooperating with the stator 10. The rotor cage 11 is extended by a cowling 11a on which is fixed a ring 14 carrying guides 15. A second ring 16 can slide on guides 15. 17 designates springs interposed between crown 14 and crown 16.
A drum 18 is fixed on the hollow shaft 3 which supports a ball bearing 19 on which can slide a sleeve 20 resting on bearings 21, 22 mounted on a shaft 23 housed inside the hollow shaft 3.
Two flanges 24, 25 are mounted on the sleeve 20 and cooperate one with the drum 18 and the other with the sliding ring 16. A pinion 26 is mounted on the shaft 23 which also carries two ball bearings 27 , 28 on which a sleeve 29 rests; the latter is integral, at one -of its ends, with a pin 30 provided with a free wheel 31.
A disc 32, provided with two clutch linings 33, 34, is fixed on the sleeve 29. The latter is connected by any suitable means. With the control shaft of a sewing machine 35. An axis 36, integral with the flange 25, carries a pinion 37 meshing with the pinions 26 and 30.
A part 38 carries, near its periphery, balls 39 placed in the housings 9 of the ramp disc 8 and in the housings of a second ramp disc 40 connected by rods 41 to a fixed disc-ramp 42. on a part 43 integral with the shaft 23. The part 43 also carries a ramp disc 44 now between itself and the disc 42 of the balls 45 placed inside holes drilled in a part 46 provided with a lever: control 47.
The disc 44 is pushed against the balls 45 by a spring 48.
A pin 49, integral with the shaft 23, hand holds a cross member 50 at the ends of which are mounted springs 51 fixed to the casing 1. Blades 52 are mounted on the rotor cage 11 inside the casing 1 and form a fan to cool the interior of the double motor by a current of air.
The rotational movement. the motor, which is transmitted to a shaft 35a of the sewing machine 35; rotates a cam 53 mounted on a shaft 54, integral with the shaft 35a.
The shaft 54, which rests in a bearing 55 placed inside a housing 56 containing breakers 57, 58, supports an inertia disc 59 which can slide on it to come into contact with an articulated blade 60. at 61 on a disc 62 fixed in the housing 56.
Pads 57a and 58a of the breakers 57, 58 are electrically connected by blades 63, 60, contacts 60a and 60b, blades 63a and 63b, to a terminal 63c, while the mobile contacts 57b, </ I> 58b, breakers 57, 58 are electrically connected by blades 64, 65 to terminals 66, 67.
A spring 68 is interposed between the blade 60 and a cover 69 of the housing 56.
The motor constituted by the rotor 5a and the stator 5 is supplied in three-phase from a source S through a switch 70 controlled by hand;
the motor constituted by the rotor 10a and the stator 10 is supplied in three-phase through a relay 72 making it possible to establish or reverse the direction of passage of two phases of the supply current of this motor, in order to be able to bring the latter in line with or in opposition to the motor made up of rotor 5a and stator 5.
The device works as follows. When a pedal 71 is pressed in the direction of the arrow FI (fig. 5), a switch 73 is opened. The hand switch 70 being closed, the motors 5 and 10 turn. both in the same direction.
The lever 47 being connected to the pedal 71, pressing the latter turns the lever 47 in. the direction of arrow F2 (fig. 1), which has the effect of moving the balls 45 between the ramp disks 42 and 44. The balls 45 move in the direction of arrow F3 (fig. 1) and , at the same time, they drive the part 43 and the shaft 23.
The sleeve 20, the discs 24 and 25 are driven in the direction of the arrow F3 (fig. 1). Thus, the disc 25 comes to bear against the crown 16 which is applied against the crown 14, while the crown 24 is released from the drum 18.
At the same time, the crown 34 of the disc 32 comes to bear against the cowling 1 1a which rotates with the rotor cage. The disc 25 and the crown 34 thus constitute a double clutch driving in rotation the end part of the sleeve 29 integral with the pulley connecting the motor to the sewing machine 35. In this high speed rotation, the pinion 37 rotates on the fixed gear 26 and on the gear 30.
For one revolution of the pinion 37 around the pinion 26, the pinion 30 advances by one tooth, but as it is wedged on a freewheel 31, the latter com thinks the difference in speed. By turning, the sewing machine 35 drives the shaft 54 which transmits the movement to the inertia disc 59. The latter then occupies the position shown in FIG. 3.
If the operator releases the pressure on the pedal 71, the lever 47 pivots in the direction opposite to the arrow F2 (fig. 1) due to the action of the springs 51 since these are coupled to the cross member 50, integral with the shaft 23. The balls 45 returning back occupy a position such that the plates 42, 44 come closer and the shaft 23 moves back in the direction opposite to the arrow F3.
From this moment, the discs 25 and 24 also move back slightly, the crown 34 is then released from the cowling 11a. Only the disk 25 is still in contact with the crown 16 which has been pushed back along the mistletoe 15 by the springs 17. The pinion 37 is then driven in rotation around the fixed pinion 26.
For one revolution of this pinion around pinion 26, pinion 30, which has one more tooth than pinion 26, advances by one tooth. There is therefore a speed reduction corresponding to the ratio of teeth between pinion 30 and pinion 26. The pulley, integral with sleeve 29, is driven by pinion 30 at low speed. This results in stitch by stitch on the sewing machine.
If the operator wishes to position her needle either in the up position or in the down position when the sewing machine is operating at high speed, she rotates a lever 74 (fig. 5) in the direction of arrow FI or in the direction contrary to the arrow F4, so that a contact 75 comes to bear either on a stud 76 or on a stud 77,
depending on whether she has chosen the high or low position. As soon as the sewing operation is finished, it releases the pressure exerted on the pedal 71. The switch 73 is then closed and the lever 47 has returned to its first position; the balls 45 occupy the position shown in FIG. 1 in which the shaft 23 is pushed to the left of the sin.
The disc 24 is in contact with the drum 18, while the lining 33 of the disc 32 bears against the canter 1 of the engine.
The man chon 29 is thus suddenly braked and the sewing machine 35 tends to stop. At this time, the flyweight disc 59, which rotates at high speed, is braked but its inertia causes it to move as a result of sliding on a ramp in the direction of arrow F5, (fig. 3).
and its end 59a bears against the blade 60 which moves in the direction of arrow F5 (FIG. 3).
The contacts 60a, 60b are either green and the current arriving through the conductor 78, the lever 74, the contact 75 and the pads 76 or 77 does not reach the relay 72. The latter is not energized.
The shaft 54 being now completely stopped, the inertia of the flyweight disc 59 is absorbed and the latter returns to its original position as a result of the pressure of the spring 68.
The contacts 60a, 60b bear against each other, the current excites the relay 72 which rotates the switches 72a, 72b. Two of the phases supplying the motor 10 are reversed and the stator of the latter tends to turn in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the motor 5.
For a fraction of a second, the stator 10 rotates a few degrees and therefore, by means of the chon 6, the ramp disc 8 which pushes the balls 39, the ramp disc 40, the rod 41, the ramp disc 42, the balls 45 and the ramp disc 44. The shaft 23 moves back: in the direction of arrow F3 (fig. 1).
At this moment, the disc 24 separates from the drum 18, the disc 25 engages the crown 16. As a result, the reduction device, constituted by the pins 26, 30 and 37, turns and drives the pulley. actuating the sewing machine 35. The cam 53, integral with the shaft 54 extending the shaft 35a of the sewing machine, also rotates and separates one of the breakers 57 or 58.
Relay 72, no longer being energized, returns to its original position. The motor 10 is again normally supplied. The stator 10 returning to its normal position ceases to exert pressure on the sleeve 6. The springs 51 return the shaft 23. All of the members of the device return to the position shown in FIGS. 1 and 3. The sleeve 29 supporting the louse driving the machine 35 is suddenly immobilized.
In this way, the needle of the machine 35 is found immobilized in its upper or lower position, depending on the operation of the switch.
In the variant of FIG. 6, the rotary cage 11 supports, by means of a ball bearing 100, a cup 101 internally comprising a tangential toothing 102 which engages: with a pinion 103 mounted on a shaft 104, integral with a support 105, fixed on a keyed sleeve 106, sliding into 107-on the shaft 23.
A helical wheel 108, mounted loose, on the one hand, on a ball bearing 109 centered on the sleeve 106 and, on the other hand, on a ring 110, is integral with a flange 111. 112 denotes a lining integral with the disc 32.
A part 113 is fixed on the cup 101 and rests on a ball bearing 114 mounted on the helical wheel 108. Two springs 115 and 116 are interposed, one between a ball bearing 117 supporting the rotor cage and the sleeve 106 , the other between the sleeve 106 and the ball bearing 27.
When the sewing machine is driven at high speed, the shaft 23 is retracted in the direction of arrow F3 (fig. 6). At this time, the part 29 is driven in the same direction and the gasket 33 disengages from the housing 1. The gasket 112 is engaged with the flange 111, since all of the elements integral with the sleeve 106 have followed the movement.
Liner 25 bears against rotor cage 11. As a result, cup 101 rotates at high speed. Through the tangential toothing 102, the pinion 103 and the helical wheel 108 rotate, which drives the flange 111 and, through the lining 112, the part 29. The assembly rotates at reduced speed.
As the movement of displacement of the shaft 23 in the direction of arrow F3 (fig. 6) continues, the shaft slides along the key 107. The seal 112 is thus separated from the flange 111, but the seal 34 comes into contact with part 113; thus the part 29 supporting the pulley is dragged at high speed.
When the operator wishes to do point by point, she releases the pressure on the pedal 71 a little and, as in the previous example, the shaft 23 moves back in the opposite direction of the arrow F3. The lining 25 is still in contact with the rotor cage .11, but the part 29 having followed the movement of the shaft 23, the lining 112 is: brought into contact with the flange 111.
The lining 34 no longer resting on the part 113, the part 29 takes its movement from the flange 111 driven at low speed by means of the reduction torque constituted by the teeth 102, the pinion 103, the helical wheel. 108. We thus obtain point by point.
If the operator completely releases the pedal, the shaft 23 is suddenly pushed back in the direction opposite to arrow F3 (fig. 6). The trim 33 comes to bear against the casing 1, thus blocking the part 29, which causes the sewing machine to stop.
In certain cases, the two motors 5 and 10 are mounted on two shafts placed in the extension of one another and which can be connected by a clutch. The second motor 10 can only be used to brake the first; it is then supplied only when the needle is positioned.
