Winch The present invention relates to a winch comprising a drum for winding a rope, driven from a primary shaft by means of reduction gears.
In winches of this kind, of usual construction, the operation of unwinding the rope from the drum, when the rope is supporting a load, is effected either by slowing down, using a crank for example, the movement of the rope. lowering of the load so that it is placed without sudden shock on the ground, for example, or by braking the unwinding movement of the rope from the drum using a friction device. This last way of proceeding is the easiest and at the same time the fastest.
However, the friction devices with which certain winches are fitted, in order to slow down the unwinding movement of their drum, are highly stressed and therefore subject to relatively rapid wear.
The winch according to the invention aims to remedy this drawback. It is characterized by the fact that it comprises a device for regulating the unwinding movement of the drum comprising a rotary hydraulic pump driven by one of the shafts of the winch and causing a certain volume of liquid to circulate in a closed circuit, a throttle provided on this circuit limiting the speed of rotation of the pump and thus of the drum.
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, one embodiment of the winch according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is an overall sectional view of this winch.
Fig. 2 is a section along 1I-11 of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a partial side view with section on 111-III of FIG. 1.
Referring to FIG. 1, it can be seen that the winch shown comprises a housing formed of two parts 1 and 2 tightened against each other by screws 3. In this housing are arranged bearings for the various shafts of the winch. There are three of these, namely: a primary shaft 4 rotating in bearings 5 and 6, an intermediate shaft 7 rotating in bearings 8 and 9, and an output shaft 10 carried by bearings 11 and 12; this tree 10 is tu bular. A shaft 13, which is capable of sliding axially in the tubular shaft 10, carries the drum 14 of the winch.
This drum 14, which is keyed on the shaft 13, is held in place on the latter by a plate 15 fixed by a screw 16 to the end of the shaft 13, several screws 17 connecting the plate 15 to the hub 18 drum 14. This winch is intended to be actuated using a crank 19 fixed relative to a drum 20. This drum 20 is capable of rotating on the primary shaft 4. For this purpose, it is provided in its central part with an anti-friction metal sleeve 21.
This tam bour 20 also carries at its periphery a wolf tooth den ture 22 constituting with a pawl 23 articulated on a pin 24, carried by the casing of the winch, a ratchet wheel. The primary shaft 4 is driven by the crank 19 by means of a friction coupling device 25. This comprises two jaws 26, articulated on a stud 27, fixed relative to the drum. 20.
These two jaws 26 are provided with friction lining 28 and are intended to be applied against the internal wall of a second drum 29, arranged inside the drum 20. This drum 29 is keyed on the primary shaft 4. The mechanism which tends to apply the jaws 26 against the drum 29 comprises a pin 30 carrying a cam 31, this pin 30 being mounted to pivot in the drum 20 between the two opposite ends of the jaws 26. A control arm 32 is attached to it. this axis 30 in order to be able to cause its angular displacement from outside the drum 20.
A spring 33, one end of which bears on the crank 19 and the other end on this arm 32 tends to cause the latter to pivot in the direction causing the jaws 26 to separate from one another. It should be noted that two springs 34 attached to these jaws tend to keep the latter in contact with the cam 31. The drum 20 is kept in place on the shaft 4 by a washer 35 and a pin 36.
The primary shaft 4 carries a pinion 37 while interlocking with a wheel 38 keyed on the intermediate shaft 7. The latter in turn carries a pinion 39 which meshes with a star wheel 40 keyed on the tubular shaft 10. This shaft 10 is held in place axially in the winch housing by a ring 41 fixed axially on the shaft 10 by means of a screw 42. The drum 14 is connected to the shaft 10 constituting the output shaft of the winch by means of a claw coupling device. In fact, dogs 43 are arranged, on the one hand, on the hub 18 of the drum and, on the other hand, at the corresponding end of the hollow shaft 10.
The shaft 13 also carries a ring 44 held on it by a pin 45.
A spring 46 is engaged on this shaft 13 and exerts a thrust between the ring 44 and the adjacent end of the shaft 10. This spring 46 therefore tends to keep the dogs 43 of the drum 14 and of the shaft 10 engaged. As will be understood without further from the view of the drawing, a simple pressure exerted on the ring 44 against the action of the spring 46 makes it possible to disconnect the dogs 43 and to drive the drum 14 freely in rotation, independently of the intermediate gears of the winch.
This winch further comprises a device for regulating the unwinding movement of the drum 14. This regulating device comprises a rotary hydraulic pump 47 (see FIGS. 1 and 2). In the example shown, this pump is of the gear type 48-49, carried by their respective axles 50-51 mounted in the pump body 52. This pump 47 is mounted in a housing 53 provided on the outer face of the part. 1 from the winch housing. The pump 47 is fixed in its housing 53 by means of a cover 54 held, by screws not shown, against the casing 1. The driving shaft 50 of this pump 47 is driven from the primary shaft 4 by the 'via a screwdriver coupling 55.
When the gears of this pump 47 are driven in rotation, a certain volume of liquid, for example hydrostatic oil, is driven in circulation. This oil, which is in the housing 53, is sucked into the suction port 56 of the pump and is discharged through the outlet port 57. This outlet port 57 is drilled in a screw 58, which is removably fixed in the pump body 52 in the manner of a nozzle, so that the axis can modify the section of the orifice 57 by changing the screw 58. The oil leaving the orifice 57 is returned to housing 53.
The use of the winch described and shown is done as follows When a load of a certain weight is intended to be lifted with the aid of this winch by means of the rope 59, consisting, for example, of a cable, first of all the dogs 43 are disconnected, by pressing on the ring 44 so as to give slack to the cable 59 and to allow it to be hooked to the load.
Once the load is hooked and the ring 44 released, the primary shaft 4 is driven by means of the crank 19 and by means of the friction coupling device 25; the latter in turn drives, via the gears 37-40, the tubular shaft 10 as well as the drum 14. The pawl 23, by cooperating with the teeth 22, constitutes a device which does not allow the driving of the crank 19 only in one direction of rotation. Therefore, the crank 19 can be released, even when the cable 59 is stretched by the load it supports.
It should be noted that during this first movement of winding the cable 59 on the drum 14, the gears of the pump 47 are driven in a relatively slow movement by the crank 19; due to the slowness of this movement of rotation of the crank, the resistance produced by the pump 47 is practically nonexistent.
When the load carried by the cable 59 must be deposited, using the arm 32, the jaws 26 of the drum 29 are released. It is thus possible to completely disconnect the drum 20, held in a fixed position by the pawl 23, from the drum. 29. The primary shaft 4 being thus released, the latter is driven in rapid rotation by the unwinding movement of the cable 59 of the drum 14. However, this unwinding movement of the cable is regulated by the pump 47, in in particular through the outlet orifice 57 of the oil circulated by this pump.
This orifice 57 can be chosen so that a load of a certain weight is deposited without sudden shock during the release of the friction coupling device 25. It should be noted that the arm 32 makes it possible to act by means of the friction coupling device 25 for more or less braking the unwinding movement of the drum 14.
Many construction variants could be provided for this winch. Thus the number of intermediate gears between the primary shaft 4 and the output shaft 10 can be chosen at will according to the required demulti plication ratio. The friction coupling device 25, instead of being of the jaw type, could be of the friction disc or cone type.
As for the pump 47, it could be replaced by any other type of rotary hydraulic pump, such as, for example, the type of rotary hydraulic pump with multiple pistons actuated by means of a plate inclined relative to the pump. to its drive shaft. Furthermore, the pump 47 could be coupled to any shaft of the winch. However, it is always more advantageous to couple it to the primary shaft. On the other hand, the device 22-23 allowing drive only in one direction of rotation of the crank 19 could be constituted by a device with jamming rollers of the usual type.
As a further variant, the nozzle 57-58 could be replaced by a screw adjusting device forming a needle, which can be actuated from the outside, or else by a device automatically adjusting the passage section of the oil as a function of the load to be supported by the winch. Such a device could consist of a ball or a small piston controlling an orifice for the passage of the oil, this ball or this piston being normally held in position, to allow the passage of the oil, by a spring.
Thus, the more the pressure of the oil increases as a result of a more rapid drive of the pump, the more the ball or the piston is moved against the action of its spring, so as to further block the passage opening. of the oil, which automatically causes additional braking by the pump. The winch described above with reference to the attached des sins can be used in various areas where a winch of light construction and safe operation is required.
This winch is particularly useful for being adapted to portable lifting installations, such as, for example, those used for laying rails on railway tracks.
The winch shown is intended to be dragged using a crank 19. However, it goes without saying that the primary shaft 4 of this winch could be driven by an electric motor or other, the movement of which would be trans drum set 20, for example.
