Tool holder For the most precise finishing of bores, the mate rial used for this purpose, such as milling cutter, reamer, honing tool, etc., should be guided in the pre-machined bore, which already has the desired geometric shape, so that between the drive spindle of the machine tool and the The tool used does not have a rigid connection in the radial direction. For this purpose tool holders have already been created with two relative to each other in the radial Rich direction movable, but torsionally connected to each other members, one of which is intended to receive the tool and the other for attaching to the machine tool.
In the known versions of such Werkzeughal ter, the two links are connected to each other by at least one joint, in particular a universal joint, which is why this tool holder was also referred to as a pendulum holder. Their disadvantages are mainly that in the horizontal position of use of the same their front, the tool-bearing member due to gravity and the existing joints deviates from the horizontal position, as long as the tool is not inserted into a hole to be machined. This means that the tool has to be inserted manually into the hole to be machined. Furthermore, the required joints, provided that they should actually meet the requirements set, are quite complicated and expensive.
With simple and relatively cheap execution, however, they do not ensure the desired effect.
The present invention aims to eliminate the disadvantages described and relates to a tool holder with two members that can move relative to one another. The tool holder according to the invention is characterized in that a coupling element made of elastically flexible material is connected between the links and is secured against axial displacement and rotation on both the one and the other link. Preferably, the two members have coaxially inein other projecting parts and the coupling element is an elastic sleeve which engages between the last-mentioned parts.
Several embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. It shows: FIG. 1 a first embodiment of a tool holder, partly in side view and partly in longitudinal section, FIG. 2 the analogous representation of a second embodiment, FIG. 3 a cross section along the line III-III in FIG. 2, FIG Cross section along the line IV-IV in Fig. 2, Fig.5 part of a third Ausfüh approximately example of the tool holder, partly in side view and partly in longitudinal section, and Fig. 6 in an analogous representation part of a fourth embodiment of the tool holder.
The tool holder shown in Figure 1 has two metallic members 1 and 2, which are connected to each other by a coupling element 3 made of elastically flexible material such as rubber. The metal member 1 mainly forms a plug-in cone which is intended for fastening in the work spindle of a machine tool. The other metal member 2 is provided with a conical recess 4 into which the shaft of a tool is inserted who can. In a manner known per se, the member 2 is provided with a transversely continuous Publ opening 5, which allows the introduction of a wedge, with the help of which the tool can be ben ausgetrie again from the recess 4. The metal member 1 has a cylindrical extension 5 'which projects coaxially into a cylindrical recess 6 of the other member 2.
The coupling element 3 is in the form of a sleeve which is switched on between the Forsatz 5 'and the recess 6 and which holds the parts of the links 1 and 2 at a distance from each other. The extension 5 'is provided with a circumferential groove 7 and the cylindrical limita- tion surface of the recess 6 with a circumferential groove 8 in order. In these grooves 7 and 8 engage corresponding circumferential ribs of the elastic elastic sleeve 3, whereby the two Glie the 1 and 2 are secured in the axial direction on the sleeve 2 and each other. The cylindrical boundary surfaces of the extension 5 'and the recess 6 are also provided with longitudinal grooves 9, in which corresponding projections of the elastic sleeve 3 eingrei fen, whereby the two links 1 and 2 on the sleeve 3 and each other are secured against rotation Ver .
The elastic sleeve 3 also has a flange 10 which fills the joint leading to the outside between the two metal members 1 and 2.
By means of the coupling sleeve 3, the metal members 1 and 2 are movably connected to one another with respect to the aufeinan, namely the longitudinal axes of the members 1 and 2 can be pivoted with respect to one another and also moved parallel to one another. This mobility is limited by the deformation capacity of the sleeve 3 and is under the influence of the elastic return forces of the sleeve 3, which strive to keep the two links 1 and 2 always in a coaxial position to each other. Therefore, it cannot happen that when the tool holder described is in horizontal use, the link 2 hangs downwards at an angle, which would make the introduction of the tool by hand into the hole to be machined necessary.
Because the described tool holder mechanical joints are avoided, the production of the tool holder is simpler and the cost price is lower. Nevertheless, the tool holder enables a clamped tool to follow the pre-machined bore of a workpiece during finishing in such a way that material is removed evenly.
The illustrated in Fig. 2 to 4 from the exemplary embodiment differs from the be written mainly in that instead of the circumferential grooves 7 and 8 and the longitudinal grooves 9 other shapes are available. The cylindrical extension 5a of the metallic member la has two transverse bores 11 and 12 running at right angles to one another; through which corresponding webs of the elastic's sleeve 3a reach through, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 clearly show. Furthermore, in the provided with the cylindrical recess 6a part of the metal member 2a radially extending transverse bores 13 and 14 are worked, in which also corresponding projections of the elastic sleeve 3a eingrei fen.
These projections and webs of the sleeve 3 a form driving pins which secure the sleeve against both axial displacement and rotation on the two metal members 1 and 2. In this embodiment, the member 1a has a cylindrical shaft for insertion into a chuck of a machine tool, and the member 2a is provided with a cylindrical recess 4a for receiving the tool, as well as with radially extending threaded holes 15 in which adjusting screws can be inserted .
According to FIG. 5, to connect the elastic sleeve 3b to the two metal members 1b and 2b, the cylindrical limiting surfaces of the extension 5b and the recess 6b are each provided with intersecting grooves 16 in which corresponding projections of the sleeve 3b engage.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 6, the metal member 1c has a conical extension 5c, which thickens towards its outer end. The recess 6e of the other metal member 2c has a conical delimiting surface such that the recess widens with increasing depth. Accordingly, the elastic sleeve 3c inserted between the links in FIGS. 1c and 2c also has a conical shape. With this design, the two metal parts on the sleeve are secured against axial displacement. To secure against twisting, the conical boundary surfaces of the extension 5c and the recess 6c have grooves 17 which run along the generatrix of these surfaces and in which grooves 17 engage corresponding jumps before the sleeve 3c.
In all shown embodiments of the tool holder, the material of the sleeve is filled in a soft plastic state in the corresponding cavity between the metal members, and then vulcanized.
The mode of operation of all Ausführungsfor men is practically the same.
