Description

Metal dial with added indicator signs The subject of the invention is a metal dial with added indicator signs, intended in particular for watches and other timepieces.

The signs of this dial are metallic, for example in brass, silver or gold, and are applied against the anterior face of the dial plate and each comprise at least one foot passing through an opening of this plate, the end of said foot being folded and embedded in a groove made in the rear face of said plate to ensure the fixing of the signs by stapling.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a front view of a fragment of a watch dial; fig. 2 shows the same fragment of ca dran seen from behind (posterior face); fig. 3 is a section on a larger scale along the line 1I1-111 of FIG. 1. On the dial plate 4 are applied hour signs 5 formed by bars of metal, either brass, silver or gold.

Each sign comprises two feet 6 which pass respectively through a round opening 7 of the plate 4 and their ends 8 are bent at right angles and embedded in a groove 9 milled in the rear face, so that the feet, while securing the sign, do not form any protruding part on the reverse of the dial and, therefore, do not yield to the normal thickness of the latter.

The stapling attachment of the dial signs offers the particular advantage that each sign can be easily unhooked and replaced on the dial plate by a substitute or spare sign; these signs may consist of Arabic numerals, Roman numerals or any other conventional indicator signs, given that the invention is applicable to all types and formats of dials with added signs for timepieces, counters, time control instruments or chrono footage.
