Vehicle comprising a rotary steering apparatus with a hollow transmission shaft and a watch attached to this steering apparatus. The object of the present invention is a vehicle comprising a rotary steering apparatus whose driveshaft is hollow and a watch attached to this steering device.
This vehicle is characterized by an element housed inside the inside of said shaft and not rotating with it, this element being connected to the shaft of the watch case, with a view to raising the latter automatically, when moving said steering apparatus.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, to by way of example, in the appended drawing in which the single figure is a schematic section thereof, showing only the necessary parts < B> to the understanding of the invention.
In this drawing, 1 represents the steering wheel hub of a motor car. This flywheel is made angularly integral with its transmission shaft 2, by internal axial projections 3, engaged in corresponding grooves 4, formed in the upper part of the shaft 2 which is hollow.
A housing 5 is hollowed out in the center of the upper part of the hub 1, in order to allow the attachment of a watch to said steering wheel. A circular rim 6 of the bottom 10 of the box thereof is in fact engaged to greasy friction to inside a portion 7 of said housing. The rim 6 rests axially on a shoulder 8 formed in the housing 5. Holes 9, in any number , are drilled in the hub 1, in order to allow the extraction of the watch out of its housing if necessary, with using a rod which is sufficient to engage successively in these holes 9.
This same 6 rim is also used to fix the back 10 of the case to the middle 11 < / B> of the latter by means not shown.
A bezel 12, carrying the lens of my 13 is mounted on the middle 11, so to be able to move axially and angularly. compared to to her.
The bezel 12 is held on the middle 11, against the action of a spring 14, by screws 15 whose end plunges to </ B> the inside of a groove 16 made all around the middle 11. The bezel 12 has field teeth 17, engaging a pinion 18 for setting to the hour, when the bezel 12 is pressed downwards, against the action of the spring 14, until that the bezel presses against the rim 6 of the bottom 10, the groove 16 being sufficiently wide to allow this displacement of said screw ends < B> 15.
The 19 movement of the watch is fixed by known means, not shown, inside the inside of the 11 caseband and it carries a part 20 passing through a central opening 21, made in the bottom 10. This part 20 is used to house a clutch mechanism formed as auss 126 b by a with coil spring 22 wound with friction around two smooth bearing surfaces 23 and 24, of the same diameter and juxtaposed. The bearing 23 came with a toothed wheel 25, engaged with a second toothed wheel 26, integral with the barrel shaft not represented. The wheel 26, may be the ratchet itself, or a wheel perposed on the latter.
The staff 24 on its side is part of a mobile 27 rotated coaxially with the movement of the watch, and the outer bearing of which is carried by part 20. A square 28 is cut on the portion of the shaft of the mobile 27, which projects outwards from the part 20. This square 28 is engaged < B> inside a sleeve 29, integral with a rod 30 coaxial with the transmission shaft 2, located inside the latter, but not rotating with it. This rod 30 is attached to the car so to not to turn, preferably to the base of the 'tree 2. It crosses this tree 2 right through.
Note also that the upper part 23, 25 of the described clutch mechanism, carries two pivots 31 and 32. The pivot 31 rotates in a bearing carried by a plate 33, fixed to the movement of the watch, above the bridges, while the pivot 32 is engaged in a axial hole 34 drilled in the lower part 27 of said clutch mechanism. The operation of this clutch mechanism is well known. When the steering wheel is moved in one direction or the other, the watch rotates with it and the axis of the wheel 26 moves - around the wheel < B> 25. The wheel 26 therefore tends to drive the wheel. 25 in rotation.
If the flywheel is therefore moved in a direction such that the wheel 25 and the bearing 23 tend to further wind the spring 22, that -ci closes on the two juxtaposed staves 23, 24, and joins them together. The wheel 25 therefore remains im mobile with the rod 30, and the wheel 26 rolls around the wheel 25 </ B > and therefore rotates around its axis, affixes the rarity of the barrel and reassembles the watch.
If the flywheel is moved the in the opposite direction, the retaining pawl (not shown) acting on the ratchet, prevents the latter, and consequently the wheel 26, to rotate around its axis. The wheel 25 must therefore turn with the watch and the steering wheel. In this direction of rotation of the flywheel, the bearing 23 tends to unwind the spring 22. The two parts of said clutch mechanism are then free in relation to each other < B> to the other ; the staff 24 remains fixed with the rod 30, while the staff 23 rotates with the my being and the steering wheel.
It will be noted that it is without any other possibility to ensure in the same way the automatic winding of a watch fixed to the handlebars of a motorcycle and, in general, to the apparatus of steering of any vehicle, provided that the transmission shaft of this steering unit is hollow, so that it is possible to accommodate a fixed rod inside this shaft . It is quite clear that the watch could be fixed to this steering device, in a manner different from that described, for example by screws.
In addition, instead of the clutch mechanism described, a rectifying mechanism could be provided, allowing the movements of the steering unit to be used in both directions with a view to reassembling. the watch.
Finally, it is not absolutely essential that the watch be fixed in the center of the steering gear hub. It could occupy an off-center position if it was necessary. It would then suffice either to connect the rod 30 to a mobile of the movement of the watch which is eccentric with respect to to the latter, but coaxial to the steering apparatus, or to provide a gear train on the flywheel, with a view to connecting an integral toothed wheel of the fixed rod located in the axis of the transmission shaft of the steering gear, to a mobile part of the watch movement which is itself connected to < / B> the barrel ar ber.
