Cable end insulation and method of making such. The ends of cables, whether from low or high current lines, are usually insulated by self-adhesive tapes and, in order to achieve good adhesion, these are often warmed up. It is also common to tie off the end of the cable with twisted threads.
The subject matter of the present invention is a cable end insulation and a method for producing such. The cable end insulation according to the invention is characterized in that a sheath encloses the cable end in an intimate and elastic manner, but without being in a firm bond with the cable surface, such that parts of the sheath or this can be kept away.
The method according to the invention for producing such a cable end insulation is characterized in that the sheath is produced by gluing a viscous, solidifying mass onto the end of the cable.
In the drawing, an example Aasführungsform the cable end insulation is provided and it shows: Pig. <B> 1 </B> a cable end insulation, in view, FIG. 2 a longitudinal section through the sheath, on a larger scale, Pig. <B> 3 </B> a cross section along the line III-III in FIG. 1, also on a larger scale, FIG. 4 a similar cross-section along the line IV-IV of Pig. <B> 1,
<B> Fig. <B> 5 </B> a similar one according to the line V-V of FIG.
According to the drawing, <B> 1 </B> is the cable provided with two wires 2, and <B> 3 </B> are the branch wires. A sheath <B> 5 </B> is placed around the branch point 4 of the cable, which has a main connector <B> 6 </B> receiving the cable and two secondary connectors <B> receiving the branch wires <B> 3 </B> > 7 </B>. The secondary steps <B> 7 </B> are located in a V-shape on the main connector <B> 6. </B> The casing <B> 5 </B> with the connectors <B> 6, 7 </ B> consists of one piece. The shell stands with the.
Cable <B> 1 </B> resp. the branch wires <B> 3 </B> not in a fixed connection, it just lies close and elastic to them. The whole casing or parts thereof can therefore be peeled off without difficulty.
According to the variant according to FIG. 6, the casing <B> 5 </B> is provided on the main connector with a thickening <B> 8 </B> which extends downward into the tapering part <B> 9 </B> expires. In the case of a plug <B> 10 </B>, the thickening <B> 8 </B> comes to lie outside the same, and the opening <B> 9 '</B> lies in the exit hole <B> 11. </B>
The wear and tear of the cable <B> 1 </B> in the area of its entry point to the plug <B> 10 </B> is made more difficult by the sheath, and the constriction with the thickening provides a certain hold, nevertheless it remains ensures that the cable can move sideways.
The cable end insulation described is expediently produced as follows: In an airtight container, such as a tube, a paste-like plastic compound, known in the trade as Nainen Molin and made by Hermo, Fabrication of plastic products, Killwangen-Spreitenbach, is produced is spread all around on the end of the cable.
After exiting the tube, solidification occurs when air advances, forming a flexible, tightly and elastically fitting shell. The plastic binds to the cable, respectively. not its branches. The cover has an electrically insulating effect and can be completely or partially removed. Moving the same is not to be expected, since the elastic nature ensures sufficient adhesion.
