1-Amino-8- oxy-naphthalin- 3,6- disulfonsäure-komponente wahrscherznlich. Als Monoaminonaphthalindisulfonsäiiren kommen Verbindungen des 1- sowohl als des 2- Aminonaphthalins in Frage, beispielsweise die 1=Amino-naphthalin-3,6-, -3,8-, -4,6-, -4,7-, -4;
Process for the production of a brown leather dye. The present invention relates to the production of new, deep brown tetrakis azo dyes which are eminently suitable for dyeing leather. In particular, they dye chrome-cooked leather very evenly in blue, rich brown tones, which are characterized by great opacity and good acid resistance.
Their good solubility in acidic liquor allows the combination of the new dyes with acidic dyes, which color the leather through, so that with their help, thanks to their good leveling ability, well-opaque and at the same time dyed leather dyeings can be produced from acidic liquor. The new dyes also produce rich, flowery and sand-proof colors on suede.
The new tetrakisazo dyes are obtained if, on the one hand, an equimolecular amount of the diazo compound in an alkaline medium is added to the monoazo dye from diazo-8-oxy-naphthalene-3,6-disilphonic acid and 1,3-dioxy-benzene Monoaminonaphthalene disulfonic acid and on the other hand an equimolecular amount of the half-sided coupling product of a tetrazotized,
if necessary methyl-substituted 4,4'-diamino-diphenyl compound from the group of diphenyl, diphenyl carbimide and diphenylurea with an optionally methyl-substituted 2-oxybenzene-1-carboxylic acid coupled in para position to the hydroxyl group, so that tetrakisazo dyes are formed,
which correspond to the general formula I,
EMI0001.0041
where A is an optionally methyl-substituted p-phenylene radical, one N is hydrogen and the other is hydrogen or the methyl group and Y is the direct carbon bond or a bridge member of the formula NH - C0 - .or --NH - CO = NH = The coupling of the diazotized
1-Amino-8-oxy-naphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid with 7,3-dioxybenzene takes place in a strongly alkaline medium, followed by the coupling of the diazoated monoaminonaphthalene disulfonic acid with the monoazo carbate in a likewise strongly alkaline reaction. against mimosa. The 7 position is the coupling point in the
1-Amino-8-oxy-naphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid component probably. Suitable monoaminonaphthalene disulphonic acids are compounds of 1- and 2-aminonaphthalene, for example 1 = amino-naphthalene-3,6-, -3,8-, -4,6-, -4,7-, -4;
8 and -5,7-disulfonic acids and the 2-aminonaphthalene-3,6-, -4,7-, -4,8-, -5,7- and -6,8-disulfonic acids.
Those obtained by conventional methods from tetrazoated 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl or 3,3'-dimethyl-4,4'-diamino-diphenyl, 4- (4'-amino-benzoylamino) -1-amino -benzene, 4,4'-diamino-diphenylurea and equimolecular amounts of 2-oxy-benzene or
3- or 4-methyl-2-oxy-benzene-l-carboxylic acids obtainable half-sided coupling products are allowed to act on the disazo dyes produced by the process described above, advantageously in a weaker alkaline agent, for example in the presence of alkali carbonate or bicarbonate. The tetrakisazo dyes according to the invention obtained in this way after coupling has ended represent dark powders in the form of their alkali salts,
which, depending on the composition, dissolve in water with a more or less dark brown color and in concentrated sulfuric acid with a purple color. You dye leather by the usual methods in brown to dark brown shades of remarkable acid resistance.
The present patent now relates to a process for the production of a brown leather dye. The process is characterized in that one mole of the diazo compound of the 2 amino acids is added to the monoazo dye from diazotized 1-amino-8-oxy-naphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid and 1,3-dioxy-benzene. naphthalene-6,
8-disulfonic acid and on the other hand one mole of the half-sided coupling product of the tetrazotized 4,4'-diamino-diphenyl and the 2-oxy-benzene-1-carboxylic acid in an alkaline medium.
The new tetrakisazo dye obtained is a dark powder and produces full brown dyeings of excellent acid resistance on chrome-tanned leather. example:
31.9 parts of 1-amino-8-oxy-naphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid are dissolved in 100 parts of water with 2.8 parts of caustic soda, with. 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite mixed. and at 0-5 to 20 parts conc. Hydrochloric acid run. The yellow diazo suspension is then allowed to flow into a solution of 10 parts of 1,3-dioxybenzene in 100 parts of water and 10 parts of caustic soda.
A further 10 parts of caustic soda are added to the brown monoazo dye solution and the diazo compound of 30.3 parts of 2-amino-naphthalene-6,8-disulfonic acid is added. The dark brown disazo dye solution is stirred for a few hours.
During this time. 18.4 parts of 4,4'-di-amino-diphenyl are tetrazotized and coupled on one side in the presence of 30 parts of sodium carbonate with 14.3 parts of 2-oxy-benzene-1-carboxylic acid. This soda-alkaline suspension flows into the disazo dye solution described above. The resulting tetrakisazo dye is separated off with 250 parts of sodium chloride, filtered off and dried.
It represents a dark powder, which is in water with, brown and in conc. Dissolves sulfuric acid with a purple color.
On chrome-tanned leather, the new dye produces full brown colorations with excellent acid resistance.
