Device for the insufflation of gases.
The invention relates to a device for the insufflation of gases, in particular for intra-arterial oxygen injection in the case of arterial circulatory disorders, furthermore for performing arteriopneumography and for injection of gaseous medicaments, without being limited to these specific examples.
In the following, the insufflation of oxygen is treated to explain the invention, for example.
So far this has cheered up the shyness of the clinicians practicing the process of complications that were essentially due to the cumbersome nature of the previous processes and equipment. This is because it is extremely important to ensure that the pressure of the gas supplied can be adapted to the pressure conditions of the medium to be treated during the insufflation. An apparatus that worked with security in this respect was not previously available. Furthermore, during insufflation with oxygen, the slightest admixture of air must be strictly avoided, and in this direction too the makeshift devices used hitherto failed.
The invention has the task of reliably reducing the truck of the high-pressure cylinder containing the gas to an adjustable pressure that corresponds to the pressure of the medium, namely instantaneously and independently of the flow rate that can be regulated Apparatus, the access of harmful air from the atmosphere to the gas flow is excluded.
The feature of the invention is that the gas taken from the high-pressure bottle and reduced in pressure by the usual reducing valve first passes a fine reducer, which is expediently equipped with a membrane-controlled valve, then is fed to a metering device via a four-way valve and then to a wet cleaner via a throttle and a manometer, which at the same time serves as a control element for the flow rate and the set pressure, and to whose outlet a pressure-insensitive tube with the insufflation cannula is coupled.
The subject matter of the invention is shown on the drawing in one embodiment, for example.
The oxygen flows from the high-pressure bottle, not shown, first via the usual reducing valve 1 to the dry cleaner 2, which is expediently provided with a safety device against overpressure.
The oxygen then reaches the metering device via an FeW pressure relay 3 with a valve 5 controlled by an adjustable membrane 4 via a four-way valve 6. This consists of a graduated glass cylinder 7 with a free-floating piston 8.
The four-way cock 6 is provided with two bores 9 and 10 and connected to the pipes 11, 12, 13 and 14. In the position shown in the drawing, the bolster 9 connects the tubes 11 and 14 and the bore 10 connects the tubes 12 and 13
Oxygen from the tube 11 through the tube 14 into the glass cylinder 7, while pushing the piston 8 in front of you until the amount that can be read on the scale is reached.
The plug of the four-way cock 6 is then turned until pipe 14 is connected to pipe 13 and pipe 11 is connected to pipe 12. The oxygen then flows from pipe 11 through pipe 12 into the glass cylinder 7, drives the piston 8 in front of it and thus the one from the previous charge in the glass cylinder 7
Oxygen from this out into the tubes 14 and 13. This interplay is always repeated in such a way that the newly added oxygen presses that of the previous charge through tube 12 or 14 into tube 13, from where it is fed via a throttle 15 and a manometer 16 landed in a wet cleaner.
This consists of a cylinder 18 which is divided into an upper space 19 and a lower space 20. The inlet pipe 21 opens up in the room 19. From the lower part of the room 19, a pipe 22 leads to the lower part of the room 20, which is partially filled with water. In the upper part of the space 20 there is a tube 23 to which a pressure-insensitive tube with the insufflation cannula is coupled.
The oxygen exits from tube 21 into space 19 and from there through tube 22 into the lower part of space 20, 0, then rises, cleaning itself, in the water and leaves the cleaner through tube 23.
The wet cleaner also serves as a control element for the set pressure. If the counter pressure, i.e. the pressure of the medium, changes, this can be recognized immediately by the change in the water level in the pipe 22 and is therefore able to adapt the pressure of the oxygen to the pressure of the medium to be treated at any time.
If necessary, leaves. the sequence of the individual units through which the oxygen flows change accordingly. For example, it may seem advantageous to switch the manometer not in front of the wet cleaner, but behind it, in order to allow a pressure fluctuation (pulse) to act on the manometer without any inertia.
