Process <SEP> and <SEP> machine <SEP> for <SEP> the <SEP> bending <SEP> to <SEP> cold <SEP> of <SEP> metal tubes <SEP> <SEP> thin <SEP> of < SEP> gros <SEP> known as <SEP> 'The process for cold bending tubes by bending is known, consisting in lengthening the tube on one side and compressing it on the other. If the walls are thick, the tubes can be subjected to vacuum bending without inconvenience. On the other hand, in the case of thin walls, the compressed part wrinkles and, most often, the tube flattens.
To avoid this drawback, machines have been constructed in which a steel mandrel is introduced inside the tube, at the place which undergoes bending, to prevent the tube from flattening.
This process gives excellent results when bending tubes with a small diameter (up to 60 mm and sometimes even up to 80 mm). However, when it comes to bending tubes with a diameter exceeding 100 mm, this process requires the use of a very powerful, expensive and difficult to amortize machine.
The present invention relates to a process for cold bending thin metal tubes of large diameters, in which the tube is advanced in the direction of its axis ci-, guiding it outwardly and its wall is lengthened on the front side. form the outer arc of the arched part without compressing the wall on the side to form the inner arc.
The invention also relates to a machine for the shining of this method, comprising a fixed frame, a carriage movable on the frame, intended to carry the rear end of the tube to be bent and capable of being moved longitudinally under the frame. 'action .d'uné @ riïti \ mande, guide members intended to externally support the tube at the front of the machine, a rotary shaft on which is tiné to be threaded this tube, shaft driven by its rear end ; and an internal lami nage member carried by the front end of this shaft and placed in the vicinity of said guide members.
Of course, the machine can be supplemented by an automatic lubrication and cooling device. Two embodiments of the machine and implementations of the method, objects of the invention, will be described below, by way of example, with reference to the appended drawing, in which FIG. 1 is a schematic longitudinal vertical section of the first execution.
Fig. 2 is a corresponding transverse vertical section through II-II of FIG. 1. FIG. 3 is a view of the second embodiment in elevation with vertical section of the tube in the region where the rolling takes place.
Fig. 4 is a cross section of the tube.
Fig. 5 is an axial section of a. device ensuring the eccentricity of the mining organ.
Fig. 6 is a cross section corresponding to FIG. 5. FIG. <B> 7 </B> is an axial section of a rolling carpet.
Fig. 8 is an end view of a sector of this wheel.
The machine shown in Figs: 1 and 2 comprises a fixed frame 16 in the spans of which is mounted a sheath 7. Inside the latter is disposed a rotary shaft 1, the rear end of which is supported in a bearing. and carries a drive pinion 2 and.
the front end of which comprises a portion 3 of smaller diameter mounted in: an eccentric bore presented by the cylindrical head 6 of the sleeve. This end further comprises part 4 cover eccentric relative. the axis of the shaft 1, which extends outside the head 6 and carries a rolling member 5 consisting of a prison provided on its periphery with balls.
The eccentricity of the bore of the head 6 is the same as that of part 4; thus, for an angular position of the shaft for which the parts 3 and 4 are eccentric in the same direction, the head 6 and the laminating member are coaxial.
The pipe to be bent 8 is threaded over the barrel oven and its rear end is fixed by a collar 9 to a movable carriage 10, which can be moved along the machine, parallel to the shaft 1, by means of a screw. 11 integral with a pinion which meshes with pinion 2. A motor (not shown) is coupled to one or the other of these two pinions.
At the front of the machine is placed a roller 13 intended to wrap the upper half of the tube 8 and to push the latter against the rolling member. The ends of the axis 14 of the roller pass through elongated openings 15 of the frame and are each secured to a screw carrying two nuts 18 which bear against the frame or against stop pieces integral with this frame. Using these nuts, it is possible to adjust the position of the pin 14 and therefore the pressure exerted by the roller 13 on the tube. The frame also carries a roller 19 which is intended to surround the. lower half of the tube to serve, to support this last just at the location of the head 6 of the sheath.
The sleeve carries a lever 20 which enables it to be oriented in different angular positions around its axis, while a lock 21 enables it to be immobilized in the chosen position.
The operation of the machine and the procedure for proceeding are as follows: First of all, the shaft 1 is oriented so that the head 6 and the rolling member 5 are eccentric in the same direction. Thanks to the clearance existing between the tube and the head 6, the tube to be bent 8 can be threaded freely on the sheath and fixed to the carriage 10 using the flange 9. Then, the adjusting nuts of the roller are tightened. 13 in order to exert strong pressure on the tube. The machine being ready to operate, the bending radius must be checked by making the machine make a certain number of turns in order to allow the tube to advance 3 or 4 centimeters.
If the radius is too large, the adjusting nuts of roller 13 are further tightened until the desired radius is obtained. The machine is then started. The upper wall of the tube is intermitently rolled by the balls. the member 5 each time shits the eccentric part 4 of the end of the shaft 1 is oriented upwards; the pressure of the rolling member is provided by the head 6 which rests on the lower wall of the tube, the latter resting on the roller 19.
The advancement of the tube is ensured by the screw 11. <B> It </B> goes without saying that the sleeve 7 and its head fi must not turn, because the latter is intended to slide inside the tube where it takes its support.
The machine shown in fig. 3 and 5 to 8 comprises a frame 31 comprising longitudinal slides 32 on which a small carriage 33 moves, driven by a longitudinal screw 34. This carriage carries a block 35, in which the rear end of the tube can be fixed. bend 36.
The frame carries a fixed sheath 40 surrounding a control tube 45 carrying a cylindrical head 43; this head has an eccentric bore 44 in which is supported the front end of a shaft 37, the rear end of which is coupled to an electric motor 38, this motor also serving to drive, by means of a gear 39, the screw 34. The sleeve 40 carries, at its front end, a sleeve 41 having an eccentric bore 42 in which said head 43 is housed; the eccentricity of this bore 42 relative to the sleeve 41 is equal to that of the bore 44 relative to the head 43.
At its rear end, the tube 45 is integral with a ring 46, the angular position of which can be adjusted at will by means of an operating lever 47.
On the front end of the shaft 37 is fixed a knurling wheel holder 48 which has two cylindrical bores 49 and 50, the common axis of which is parallel to that of the shaft 37. In these uncertainties can turn a part 51 comprising , between bores 49 and 50; an eccentric cylindrical part 52 forming the wheel axis and receiving a rolling wheel 53. The part 51 carries at its front end a gauze 54 provided with a peripheral toothing with which the nose 55 and a lock can engage sliding 56 whose rod is secured in a hole made in the wheel holder parallel to the axis.
The piece 51 ends at the front with a six-pitch head 57 which allows. to rotate it around its axis 58 by means of a key when the nose 55 has been disengaged from the teeth of the ring 54.
The tube to be bent 36 is guided externally, at the front of the machine, by a fixed upper guide 59 and by rotating lower rollers 60 and 61 each having a groove whose profile follows the lower half of the tube. The elongation of the wall of the tube can be facilitated by a bending exerted from the outside on the tube, on the side of the concavity of the latter,
by tut additional lower roller 62 which is located in front of the rollers 60 and 61 and whose axis 63 is carried by an articulated assembly comprising for example links 64 articulated around the fixed axis 65 of the roller 61 and rods 66 articulated at the front end of a lever 67 which pivots in its middle on the frame about an axis 68. The lifting of the roller 62 is ensured by tightening a nut 69 which is screwed onto a vertical threaded rod 70 and exerting downward pressure on the rear end of lever 67.
The operation of the machine and the manner of proceeding can be understood immediately from the foregoing account - and it will suffice to explain a few peculiarities. In fig. 4 is shown in section the tube 36 whose original circular internal profile has its center at 72 and whose circular internal profile 73, obtained by rolling, has its center at 75.
The two profiles are tangent at 74, a point which is situated in the plane passing through the axis of the bent tube, on the side of the concavity of this tube. The maximum spacing of the two profiles, equal to a, is diametrically opposed to point 74. The length a is therefore the rolling depth, and it is easy to see that the center 75- of the circle 73 is at a distance from the center 72 equal to a / 2, the radius of the circle 73 being R + a / 2 if R is the radius of the primitive inner circle 71.
The eccentricity - e of the bores 42 and 44 (fig. 6) is the distance of the axes 76-72 and the axes 76-75, the axis 72 being the axis of the sleeve 41 as well as the axis of the primitive internal profile. of the tube, while the axis 75 is the axis of the bore 44, of the shaft 37 and of the profile 73 of the tube after rolling. If therefore the head 43 is rotated in the bore 42, the axis 75 will be rotated around the axis 76 and the eccentricity of the shaft 37 can be made to go into the tube and thus adjust the rolling depth.
Likewise, the radius of action of the wheel 53 can be varied by rotating the part 51 (FIG. 7); if e 'is the eccentricity of axis 77 of part 52 relative to axis 58, it is easy to see that the radius of action of the wheel can vary by 26'. On the actuators of the tube 45 and of the wheel, for example on the rings 46 and 54, it is possible to pre- ,. see marks or graduations which allow tront to orient these elements so that the eccentricity of the front end of the shaft 37 has the desired value a / 2 and that the radius of action of the wheel has the value R + a / 2. ,
