I entsprechen, finit ehromabgebenden Mitteln in solchen Men- gen behandelt,

Process for the preparation of a chromium-containing monoazo dye. Complex chromium compounds of certain metalisable monoazo dyes that do not contain any acidic, water-solubilizing groups, are very useful for real dyeing of wool and wool-like fibers.
While yellow, orange, red, brown, violet and rough dyes containing elirom are relatively easily accessible from a technical point of view, the extraction of blue dyes, which color in relatively pure shades, is more difficult. The lie;
The end of the invention now relates to the production of such blue eromine-containing substances without acidic, water-soluble groups, which dye wool and wool-like synthetic polypeptide fibers from neutral to slightly acidic dyebaths in relatively pure blue tones with a good evening color.
It has been found that new blue eliumonium-containing: llonoazo dyes are obtained if monoazo dyes which contain no acidic, wa, # solubilizing (troops and correspond to the general formula I, finite honor-donating agents) are used in such quantities treated,
that at least one chromium atom is complexed to 2 dye molecules.

In this formula, R and R 'denote low molecular weight, unsubstituted or substituted, preferably hydroxyl-substituted alkyl groups, in which the hydroxyl group can also be modified, X is hydrogen or a nonionic substituent such as halogen, Y, hydrogen, an alkyl, oxalkyl ,
Cycloalkyl or a phenyl group and Y2 is hydrogen or an alkyl group, where two alkyl groups corresponding to Y1 and Y2 can also be linked in a ring with one another or, if appropriate, with oxygen.
As diazo components for the preparation of dyes which can be used according to the invention, the 2,5-dialkoxy and 2,5-bis-oxalkoxy-1-aminobenzene compounds are particularly suitable, which are optionally still nonionic in the 4-position, for example substituted by halogen can.
Diazo compounds with substituted alkyl radicals R and R 'can be prepared, for example, from 1,4-dioxybenzenes by oxyalkylating the hydroxyl groups, mononitration, optionally modifying the 1: hydroxyl groups by alkylation or esterification, and by reducing the nitro to the amino group.
Usable coupling components are obtained from 1-oxynaphthalene-3-sulfonic acid by acylation of the hydroxyl group, conversion of the sulfonic acid group into the sulfonic acid halide group by customary methods, action of an excess of ammonia or of primary aliphatic, aliphatic,
aromatic or hydrogenated heterocyclic amines or of secondary aliphatic or araliphatic amines and saponification of the 1 hour acyloxy to hydroxyl group. Organic amino compounds which can be used in this process are, for example, methyl, ethyl, propy 1-, butylamine, aminoethanol, cyclohexylamine, ani lin, toluidines,
Xylidines, anisidines, phenetidines, piperidine, morpholine, dimethyl- or diethylamine and monomethyl- or monoethylaniline. The coupling is expediently taken in an alkaline medium.
The salts of trivalent chromium are suitable as chromating agents, optionally also its complex compounds, for example chromium sulfate, chromium formate, chromium acetate and, under certain circumstances, also alkali metal salts of chromium salicylic acid. The elimination of the alkyl radical R during the chromation is promoted by the action of the chromium-releasing agents at a higher temperature.
The work is preferably carried out at temperatures above 100 ° C. in aqueous solution or suspension under pressure, advantageously in the presence. of wetting and dispersing agents, such as Turkish red oil, at 120-160 C.
You can Ehromieren also in alcohol under pressure or in higher-boiling organic solvents and diluents in an open vessel, for example in ethylene glycol, in ethylene glycol monomethyl or monoethyl ether, in formamide, in dimethyl or diethyl formamide, or in the urea salt at 135-155 C.
The new, complex chromium compounds are obtained as dark, blue to gray-black powder, which dissolve in hot water with blue, in concentrated sulfuric acid with purple color. If necessary, their solubility in water can be further improved by mixing with small amounts of alkaline salts, such as sodium carbonate or trisodium phosphate, or with anionic wetting and dispersing agents such as soap or synthetic detergents. They dye wool and artificial polypeptide fibers similar to wool, such as nylon and perlon, from neutral to weakly acidic baths in very genuine, clear blue tones.
The woolen colors are o-iit lieliteclit and show favorable behavior in artificial light.
The present patent now relates to a process for the production of a monoazo dye containing Ehroni. The procedure is. characterized in that one is based on a monoazo dye of the formula
EMI0002.0068
wherein R is a low molecular weight, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl radical which splits off under the chrominance conditions, eg.
B. the methyl group, means, Ehromab - allows emitting agents to act in such a way that a chromium-containing dye is created, which contains two dye molecules complexly bound to a chromium atom.
The new chromium-containing mono azo dye obtained is a gray-black powder that dyes wool from a neutral or weakly acidic bath in blue tones. Example: 15.3 parts of 1-amino ->, 5-diinethoxy-beiizol are concentrated in 250 parts of hot water with 35 parts. Dissolved hydrochloric acid, cooled to 3 and after adding ice with.
6.9 parts of sodium nitrite (as a 33% solution) are diazotized. The diazonium solution is poured at 0-3 into a solution of 6.4 parts of 1-Oxv-iia.plitlialiii- 3-sulfonsätiredimethyiaiiiid, 10.5 parts by volume of 10N sodium hydroxide solution and 33 parts of anhydrous soda in 500 parts of water. After the formation of the dye has ended, it is isolated inan by adding high salt solution.
The dried dye is heated in 150 parts of glycol with 217 parts of chromium acetate (corresponding to 7.6 parts of Cr.0) and 4 parts by volume of 10N sodium hydroxide solution to 145 to 155 ° C until the chromium complex is completely formed, which is the case after about 4 hours.
The deep blue hot solution is in 1200 parts 25 per cent. Pour saline solution; after cooling, the powdery precipitated dye is not filtered off, washed with salt solution @, washed and dried. The dye is obtained as a black powder. He dyes wool in neutral or slightly acidic baths in pale shades.
