Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patentes ist  ein Verfahren zur     Herstellung    einer     Diammo-          niumverbindung.    Das Verfahren ist dadurch  gekennzeichnet,     da.ss    man auf 1     Mol        1,8-Bis-          (ss-dimethylamino-äthoxy)-oktan    2     Mol        Ben-          zylehlorid    einwirken lässt.  



  Die erhaltene neue Verbindung, das     1,8-          Bis-        [ss-        (benzyl-dimethyl-ammonium)    -     äthoxy    ]     -          oktan-dichlorid,        sehmilzt    bei 135 . Sie soll als  Arzneimittel und als Zwischenprodukt für  Arzneimittel Verwendung finden.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  2,88 Teile     1.,8-Bis-(ss-dimethylamino-äth-          oxy)-oktan    und 3 Teile     Benzylchlorid    werden  in 20 Teilen     Butanon    etwa 14 Stunden unter       Rüekfluss    gekocht.

       Nach    Kühlen wird das ab-    geschiedene rohe     quartäre    Salz abgetrennt und  aus     Butanon    unter Zugabe von wenig     Isopro-          panol    oder Methanol     umkristallisiert.    Hierauf  trocknet man bei 50-60  im     Hochvakuum.     Das     1,8-Bis-[ss-(benzyl-dimethyl-ammonium)-          äthoxy]-oktan-diehlorid        sehmilzt    bei 135 .

  <I> Example: </I> 2.88 parts of 1., 8-bis (ss-dimethylamino-ethoxy) octane and 3 parts of benzyl chloride are refluxed in 20 parts of butanone for about 14 hours.

       After cooling, the precipitated crude quaternary salt is separated off and recrystallized from butanone with the addition of a little isopropanol or methanol. It is then dried at 50-60 in a high vacuum. The 1,8-bis- [ss- (benzyl-dimethyl-ammonium) -ethoxy] -octane-dichloride melts at 135.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Diammo- niumv erbindung, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man auf 1 Mol 1,8-Bis-(ss-dimethylamino-äth- oxy)-oktan 2 Mol Benzylchlorid einwirken lässt. Die erhaltene neue Verbindung, das 1,8- Bis- [ss- (benzyl-dimethyl-ammonium) - äthoxy] - oktan-dichlorid, schmilzt bei 135 . PATENT CLAIM: Process for the production of a diammonium compound, characterized in that 2 moles of benzyl chloride are allowed to act on 1 mole of 1,8-bis- (ss-dimethylamino-ethoxy) octane.
