Description

Forceps for applying a matrix to close a dental cavity
 approximate to be closed.

To reconstruct a destroyed approximate wall of a tooth to be filled, dentists use metal or other matrices, stretched by means of different instruments around the tooth to be filled.

Due to the oval shape and taper towards the root of the teeth, these matrices cannot be applied to the entire tooth surface, especially the interdental surface, so there is always an open space between the lower edge. of the cavity and the matrix. Through such an opening, the obturating materials such as gold, amalgam, silicate and others overflow either towards the gum or into the interdental space, and their removal presents great difficulties for the practitioner.

The aim of this invention is to eliminate this drawback and to allow the intimate application of the matrices on the rounded interdental surfaces of the teeth to be closed. As a result, the rough cavities are closed, and the obturating materials can no longer be forced out of the cavities to be closed.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, some embodiments of a clamp for the application of a matrix serving to close an approximate dental cavity to be closed, forming the subject of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of the clamp.

Figs. 2 and 3 represent a corner and its longitudinal section along a
Figs. 4 and 5 represent the corner and its vertical section according to b-bl.

Fig. 6 represents dies c, c 'and the corners d, d' of the clamp between two teeth.

Fig. 7 is the corner seen from the side and from below.

Fig. 8 is the corner seen from the side and from above
Figs. 9 and 10 show two embodiments of the clamp, with clamping screw.

The clamp, schematically shown in FIG. 1, comprises two jaws, each provided with an articulated wedge A, A1, these wedges being further thinned in their part intended to be directed towards the crown of the tooth (fig. 2 to 5). When the clip closes,] the tapered ends of the corners come to be placed next to each other; in addition, the side walls of the corners have a slight concavity, corresponding to the convexity of the teeth, in order to better apply the dies to the convex wall of the teeth. Figs. 7 and 8 show, seen in perspective, a corner seen respectively from the side and from below and from the side and from above.

When the approximate cavity (s) of the tooth (s) are prepared, insert the dies between the teeth, place the wedges between the dies and tighten until they are snug against the teeth. Fig. 6 shows the clamp and the dies in place.

Figs. 9 and 10 show two embodiments of clamps either with traction screws,
 or pressure screw.
