Abstract

The invention relates to "adhesively bonded bridges", more particularly in the case of undercut abutment teeth, and method of mounting same. This dental prosthesis, which comprises at least two holdings fins 6 and 7 intended to be adhesively bonded or sealed onto at least two abutment teeth 12 and 13 delimiting the edentulous zone, is characterised in that it is made in two parts, joined together by an attachment 8, 9 with vertical insertion.

Description

 The present invention relates to joint dental prostheses of the bonded type, more commonly known under the name of "bonded bridges", and to their method of mounting.

 Known bonded bridges of the genus in question are always monolythic and comprise at least two fins intended to be glued or sealed on at least two abutment teeth delimiting the edentulous area.

In the case of a toothless recess undercut it is compulsory to mutilate the two healthy abutment teeth in order to be able to insert the prosthesis vertically and to carry out careful work. This intervention on healthy teeth has a double aesthetic and technical drawback.

 The invention aims to produce a dental prosthesis of the type in question in which the above drawbacks are eliminated.

Indeed, to allow its insertion without mutilating the supporting teeth, the prosthesis has been designed in two parts connected together by a fastening attachment with vertical insertion.

A part of it consists of at least a first fin secured to the male or female part of said attachment.

The other part of it consists of at least a second fin secured to the prosthetic tooth or teeth, it or themselves secured to the female or male part of said attachment.

As for the prosthesis mounting process, it implements: - a first phase which consists in gluing or sealing the first fin on the corresponding abutment tooth; - A second fin which consists of gluing or sealing, simultaneously, on the one hand the second fin on the other abutment tooth and on the other hand the two parts of the attachment attachment between them.

 The appended drawings, given by way of example, will allow a better understanding of the invention, the characteristics which it presents and the advantages which it is capable of providing.

In these drawings: - Figure 1 shows a classic bridge with mutilation of the teeth
pillars; - Figure 2 shows the lingual or palatal side of the bridge according to
the invention;
The conventional type prosthesis (bonded bridge) shown in Figure 1 comprises: - two fins (1) and (2) intended to be bonded to the remaining dentition (lingual or palatal side): abutment teeth (5) - a prosthetic tooth (3) integral with said fins.

The technique for producing the dental prosthesis consists in: - first making the metal infrastructure (4) (nickel-chrome for example) including the fins (1) and (2) from a wax model and according to the lost wax technique; - then mount the ceramic or resin (3) on said frame using conventional techniques (prosthetic tooth).

In order for such a prosthesis to be able to stand vertically while at the same time occupying the embedding in the case of teeth (5) undercut, it was necessary to mutilate said teeth.

The prosthesis shown in FIG. 2 comprises - on the one hand at least one fin (6) intended to be glued or sealed on at least one support tooth or abutment (12);
the male or female part (8) of a vertical insertion attachment made integral with the fin (6) by welding or simultaneous casting (lost wax technique and use for example of nickel-chromium); - on the other hand at least one fin (7) intended to be glued or sealed on at least one support tooth or pillar (13); one or more inter (11) metallo-ceramic or metallo-resin prosthetic teeth; . the female (or male) part (9) of a vertical insertion attachment made integral with the metal frame (10) of the inter teeth (11) by welding or simultaneous casting with also the fin (7).

As for the method of mounting the prosthesis, it consists of - first gluing or sealing the fin (6) on the tooth (12) - then sticking or sealing the fin (7) on the tooth (13) and simultaneously the two parts (8) and (9) of the attachment attachment.

 Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown for which we can provide other variants, use all types of materials and extend it to other applications (edentation with free or single stool -side, extension, etc.) without departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims (4)

 1- Joint dental prosthesis, for toothless recessed undercut, comprising one or more inter prosthetic teeth (11), connected to the rest of the dentition by means of at least two retaining fins (6) and (7) intended to be glued or sealed on at least two abutment teeth (12) and (13) delimiting the edentulous area without any mutilation being practiced on the latter, characterized in that it is carried out in two parts connected together by a fastening attachment (8) - (9) with vertical insertion.  2- dental prosthesis, according to claim 1, characterized in that a part thereof consists of at least a first fin (6) integral with the male or female part (8) of said attachment.  3- dental prosthesis, according to claim 1, characterized in that the other part thereof consists of at least a second fin (7) secured to the prosthetic teeth or (11), it or themselves secured to the female or male part (9) of said attachment.  4- A method of mounting the dental prosthesis, according to all of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that it implements - a first phase which consists in gluing or sealing the first fin (6) on the abutment tooth (12) corresponding; - A second phase which consists in gluing or sealing, simultaneously, on the one hand the second fin (7) on the other abutment tooth (13) and on the other hand the two parts (8) and (9) of the attachment between them.
