Absperrschieber.
Gate valve. In known gate valves, the shut-off element in the housing has no or only partial compensation of the pressures exerted on the same by the fluid. The housing usually has a large Deekel flange with a counter flange. wherein the cover flange carries a stuffing box for the spindle, which is used to operate the shut-off organ. The sealing surfaces of the slide are usually made of hard material. In the known cases where ela stically flexible material is used, the seal is arranged on the housing.
The gate valves known to date can only be manufactured for limited cross-sectional diameters and cannot be used for any high operating pressures, because relatively large frictional forces arise due to the non-equalized surface pressures on the shut-off organ, which generate high switching forces for opening and closing require the slide. Another disadvantage of the known gate valves is the comparatively long opening path of the shut-off device, particularly in the case of high-pressure gate valves of larger nominal width, which also results in comparatively long times for opening and closing.
The high frictional forces lead to great stresses on the sealing surfaces, especially when impure media such. B. a thick mud for drilling purposes, flow through the gate valve. At the beginning of opening, i.e. when the flow cross-section is still small, the flow speed of the medium may reach very high values, and with impure media there is then very high stress on the sealing surfaces, which is the case with High pressure valves built into thick flushing lines can result in complete erosion of the sealing surfaces after a relatively short operating time.
The repairs then required are expensive and time-consuming and cannot be carried out on site.
The present invention enables the disadvantages outlined to be avoided. The shut-off valve according to the invention is characterized in that the shut-off element has three pistons arranged at a distance from one another at the same axis with elastically yielding you lines, which pistons are intended to be exerted by the fluid on the shut-off element in the axial direction from the pressures take up and balance all positions of the body.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing, partly in longitudinal section, namely FIG. 1 shows the gate valve in the closed position and FIG. 2 shows the same valve in the open position. The gate valve shown has a housing 3 with an inlet nozzle 4 and an outlet nozzle 5 for the flow medium. In the housing 3 there is an intermediate wall 16 which separates the inlet and outlet sides and in which a cylindrical opening is incorporated.
Furthermore, the housing has two cylindrical lugs 19 and 20, which are arranged axially to one another and to the aforementioned break in the intermediate wall 16, the axis of the lugs 19 and 20 being at an acute angle to the axis of the nozzles 4 and 5. The shut-off element of the slide has three pistons 6, 10 and 12 arranged equaxially at a distance from one another, which are each seen with an ela stically resilient seal 7, 11 and 13, which are so-called lip seals.
Between the middle piston 6 and the one outer piston 10, a spacer sleeve 8 is switched on, while between tween the middle piston 6 and the other outer piston 12, a shaft 9 is IN ANY. The parts 6-13 described together form the shut-off element of the slide and are axially displaceable as a unit with means of a handwheel 14, which acts by means of its internally threaded hub 15 'on a screw spindle 15 with a coarse thread. The two outermost pistons 10 and 12 are guided by means of their seals 11 and 13 in all positions of the shut-off member in the cylindrical lugs 19 and 20 of the hous ses 3 slidably.
When the slide is closed, the middle piston 6 is seated in the opening of the partition 1.6 by means of its seal 7 and slides out of this opening when the slide is opened in the direction towards the fluid inlet 4. The two seals 11 and 13 each have a lip 11a or 13a directed against the middle piston 6, while the seal 7 of the middle piston 6 has a lip 7a directed against the fluid inlet.
The diameters of all pistons 6, 10 and 12 are the same among themselves. The side of the intermediate wall 16 facing the fluid inlet is provided along the circumference of the opening with a chamfer 17 and usually also several grooves 18 distributed over the circumference of the opening and extending radially to the opening. The in the inlet side of the housing ausmün Dende cylindrical projection 19 is provided with a conical extension 21, in which the seal 7 can go in with the slide open (Fig. 2).
In operation, the pistons 6, 10 and 12 of the shut-off element take the pressure exerted by the flow medium tel in the axial direction on the same and equalize them in every position of the shut-off element - because of the same size of the diameter of the piston -. When the slide is closed, the flow medium acts on the two pistons 6 and 10, while rend it acts on the two outer pistons 10 and 12 when the slide is open and exerts the same pressure on the shut-off element in opposite directions in the axial direction. Because of this pressure equalization, a relatively small force is required to open and close the slide, even if the operating pressure of the fluid has considerable values.
The little effort required to operate the shut-off device enables the slide to be opened and closed very quickly.
The chamfer 17 and the radial grooves 18 ensure that when the slide is opened, the lip 7a of the seal 7 is acted upon by the same pressure of the fluid from the outside as soon as the opening movement begins, so that the lip at Opening the slide does not suffer any inadmissible deformation outwards, but only relaxes according to its preload.
When the slide is fully open, the device 7 is located in the conical extension 21, relaxed and largely protected against the action of the fluid.
The arrangement of the lip seals 11 and 1.3 makes the installation of Stopfbiiehseii unnecessary. The resilient seals can be renewed in a relatively short time without the housing 3 having to be detached from the fluid line.
To operate the shut-off device, other known devices, such as, for. B. a rocker arm or the like, be IN ANY. The actuator # can be designed so that either by their displacement in the axial direction, the shut-off organ is adjusted directly to the same extent or that by means of the actuator by switching on a translation, eg. B. a spindle drive, a slower Verstel development of the shut-off element is effected.
The gate valve described can rain the achieved pressure equalization for; larger nominal sizes and higher operating pressures are built than the previously known gate valve. Compared to the previous gate valves, the same nominal size and the same operating pressure result in much lower material costs. As a result, the manufacturing costs of the slide are also significantly lower.
The service life of the shut-off slide described is longer than that of the known slide, in particular because the seals are largely outside the flow of the medium when the slide is open and are hardly stressed by it.
