Description

       

  <B>Zusatzpatent</B> zum Hauptpatent Nr. 301409.    Verfahren zur Herstellung     einer        quaternären        Ammoniumverbindung.            Gegenstand    des vorliegenden Patentes ist  ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer neuen       quaternären        Ammoniumverbindung,    das da  durch gekennzeichnet ist, dass man     Di(oxy-          äthyl)-octyloxyäthylamin    mit     Benzylbromid     zur Reaktion bringt.  



  Das neue kristalline     Reaktionsprodukt    löst  sich in destilliertem und hartem Wasser voll  ständig klar mit neutraler Reaktion und unter  starker Schaumbildung. Es hat wertvolle  Eigenschaften als Färbe-, Egalisier- und     Avi-          vagemittel.    Mit     substantiven    Farbstoffen bildet  es Komplexverbindungen und erhöht so die  Wasserechtheit     substantiver    Färbungen. Da es  gleichzeitig ein     Aufziehvermögen    auf die Faser  besitzt, kann man es als     substantives        Avivage-          mittel    bezeichnen.  



  Ausserdem besitzt dieser Stoff eine starke  bakterizide und     bakteriostatische    Wirkung und  kann deshalb vorzüglich als Desinfektions  mittel verwendet werden. ,         Beispiel:     1.     Mol    reines     Di(oxyäthyl)-octyloxyäthyl-          amin        (Kp.    138 bis 141'C/0,02 mm     Hg)    wird  mit 1     Mol.    reinem     Benzylbromid    vermischt und  bis zur Beendigung der Reaktion stehenge  lassen.     Diese    Reaktion kann ohne Zusätze oder  unter Verwendung eines geeigneten Lösungs-    mittels wie z. B.     Äthyläther    erfolgen.

   Das  Reaktionsprodukt kristallisiert und wird vor  teilhaft aus einem passenden Lösungsmittel  wie z. B.     Essigsäureäthylester    oder einem Ge  misch von     Essigsäureäthylester    und     Äthyläther     umkristallisiert. Es kristallisiert in glänzenden  Blättchen vom Schmelzpunkt 75 bis 75,5  C.
