Ski carrier for motor vehicle. The present invention relates to a ski carrier for a motor vehicle. This ski rack is characterized by the fact that it comprises a frame of which one of the transverse sides is formed of two parallel bars, one of which is fixed relative to the rest of the frame and the other of which is guided by three studs. ,
can move while remaining parallel to the. fixed bar, a coil spring arranged around the central pin and resting on the two bars, tending to move them away from each other, and two hooking devices, located at both ends of these bars, allowing to keep them close together, against the spring.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the ski rack forming the subject of the invention.
The fia. 1 is an elevational view of the rear of an automobile convertible provided with said embodiment of the ski carrier.
Fig. 2 is a view: of this form of execution from the front, on an enlarged scale.
Fig. 3 .is a view of a front detail also on an enlarged scale.
Fig. 4 is, a section on IV-IV of the fi-. 3.
Fig. 5 is a view of a detail of FIG. 2, on a larger scale.
Fig. 6 is a section along VI-VI of the, fig. 5, and; fig. 7 is a view of a detail: e Fig.1, enlarged scale. The ski carrier shown comprises a frame formed of: two side members 1 and two tmaverses, one of which is designated by 2; (fig. 2.) and the other by 3 (fig. 3).
The two side members 1 carry, at each of their ends, a vertical pin 4, respectively'5, on each of which .is slidably mounted a sleeve; 6, respectively 7, which can be locked on the stud by a screw 8.
Each of these sleeves carries a sleeve which is perpendicular to it, designated by 9, respectively 10, and into which penetrates an end rod 11 of the cross member 2, respectively 12 of the cross member 3.
These terminal rods are prevented from moving in their respective sleeve by locking screws 13.: Thanks to this arrangement, the attachment points on the four sides of the frame constituting the frame of the ski carrier are adjustable.
The: two side members 1 are each provided with god feet 14 and 15 carrying at their free end a suction cup 16 intended to bear on the body 17 of the vehicle. The feet 14 and 15 are tubular and each carry at their end a threaded rod 18 which is screwed inside: of the tube (FIG. 7). The sellers 16 each have a pair of ears 19 through which a pin 20 passes through the threaded rod 18.
The vents are, as follows: articulated on the feet with the turn of axes whose orientation in relation to the feet is adjustable. The suction cups can thus be applied tightly to the bodywork. The crosspiece 2 is constituted by a bar of straight section in the form of a <B> 'U </B> die in which are lbgées god bands 21 .de rubber. This bar 2 is reinforced by a bar 22 to which it is. connected by spacers. 23.
Bar 2 carries three studs, two of which, die signed by 24, are located at its ends and the third, 25, is located in its middle. A bar 26, also. of straight section in the shape of a <B> U, </B> lined with two strips of rubber 27, carries three sleeves including. two, signed by 28, are located at its ends and of which the third, 2.9, is; located in the middle. These sleeves are. mounted so as to be able to slide on the studs 24 and 25 of the bar 2. The bar 26 can thus move relative to the bar 2. while remaining parallel to the latter.
A coil spring 30 'is disposed around the stud 25 between the bars 2 and. 2.6. This spring tends to keep the bar <B> 26 </B> away from the bar 2, the end of the sleeve 2'9 coming. drink against Lin pommel 31 ending pin 2 <5. Two bars 32 reinforce. bar 26.
The bar 2 also carries, articulated on it at <B> 33 </B> at its ends, two levers 34 each provided with a control rod 35 and carrying: each an ankle 36 intended to penetrate into one a series of holes 37 made in the sleeves 28 (fig. 5 and, 6). By inserting the pin <B> M </B> in a hole 37, the bar <B> 26 </B> is kept close to the bar 22, against the action, of the spring 30, which allows the skis 38 to be pinched between the rubber bands 2,7 and 21.
The rear cross member 3 of the ski carrier com takes two flat irons 39 and 4'0 perpendicular to each other; flat iron. 40 carries a strap 41 under which passes the rear of the skis.
Finally, the suction cup attachment does not offer sufficient security, the ski carrier also has an additional attachment device comprising two flanges 42 being attached, on the one hand, to the side members 1 and, on the other hand, to the body 17.
