Fig. 4 der Z ichnungangedeutet ist.
Termination for electrical cables, especially for high voltage cables. It is already known to produce cable sleeves or cable terminations as tubular hollow bodies made of ceramic materials or hard paper, to which metallic pipe pieces are attached on both sides and z. B. are attached and sealed by pressed ring beads.
However, the known sets of this type cannot meet the requirements of practice. The coefficient of thermal expansion of the materials previously suggested for such fittings is namely from. so different from that of metals,
that over time as a result of the inevitable warming games. Leaking of the connection between the insulating material and the metal pipe cannot be avoided.
In contrast to these known designs, there is an end closure for electrical cables in the form of a hollow insulating body with metal pipe pieces tightly attached to the inlet and outlet openings, one of which is intended with the jacket the cable to be introduced, the other with the lead out,
stripped conductor, this cable to be connected gas- and liquid-tight, according to the invention as characterized by,
that the insulating hollow body consists of an elastic insulating material and that one end of the metal pipe pieces is embedded in the insulating hollow body and is firmly connected to it:
The elasticity only needs to be so great that the insulating material can follow the expansion of the metal pipe when it is heated.
This is what is known from the aforementioned: Trimmings, the risk of loosening during warming games avoided. In addition, there is also an increased breaking strength compared to ceramic parts.
The. If the housing is made of rubber, a material connection can preferably be made by vulcanization. If the insulating body is formed from a plastic with rubber, in particular hard rubber properties, using the casting, injection or pressing process,
then the gas-tight, cohesive connection can be achieved by inserting the pipe sections into the casting, injection or compression mold. For the purposes of the invention see e.g.
B. all insulating materials that are suitable for the production of cores that on the one hand resume their original shape after the elimination of mechanical forces below a critical size, on the other hand have the same coefficient of thermal expansion as the metal pipe pieces to be embedded or with different Coefficients of thermal expansion have sufficient elasticity,
which enables them to yield to the thermal expansion or shrinkage of the metal pipe pieces without the connection becoming leaky.
This also includes masses that can be processed in casting or pressing processes; and have the corresponding properties. There come z.
B.-for this hard materials, such as synthetic resin molded materials and the like, but also elastic more of the less deformable materials such as rubber and the like, in betraeht_ Particularly favorable for the purposes of the invention are insulating materials that are through a special treatment, especially in Forming or solidification of the darails herge presented body, z.
B. by vulcanization, can be brought to a gas-tight adhesion to metal. Such a substance is, for example, natural or artificial GLunmi. The manufacture of an end closure according to the invention can, in this case, e.g.
B. be done so, -that. On a suitably shaped mandrel tapes are wound from a vulcanized rubber mixture, with the two metal pipe sticks are wrapped at the ends.
The rubber part is then either wrapped in tape or vulcanized in a mold or also freely in a pressure vessel, whereupon the mandrel is removed again. Instead of a mandrel, however, a tube made of a suitable insulating material, e.g. made of hard paper, hard plastic or the like, can also be used to wind up the rubber mixture.
use that after the vulcanization .possibly. can also remain in the hollow body ver. The shape of the core need not be cylindrical or conical. but can be held differently as required.
Should a. Cable termination produced in this way can be used for high voltage, see above. it is advisable to choose an ozone-resistant synthetic rubber for the production of the insulating tube or to manufacture the tube from hard rubber, which is also characterized by ozone resistance.
A similarly good result can be achieved aLwli with non-vulcanizable, in particular rubber-like insulating materials that are z. B. can be deformed by casting or spraying NEN.
The tube can then be formed in casting or injection molds, with the metal tubes also being embedded at the same time. This can be done in a particularly favorable manner, for example, in that the insulating material is sprayed onto a core in the flame spraying process by means of a spray gun, which core carries the metal tube to be embedded.
This results in an intimate, firmly adhering connection between the insulating material and the metal pipes. I #: synthetic resin molding materials can also be used in a similar manner for the purposes of the invention. The gas-tight connection can if necessary be improved by using a suitable adhesive.
To explain the invention, some embodiments and application examples of terminations according to the invention are shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 of the drawing shows, for example, an embodiment of a, Endverschlus ses for power cables, which consists of a tube I, made of rubber, on both sides vulcanized metal pipe sticks 2, z. B. made of brass. One of the used metal pipe sticks 2 is sheathed with the metallic cable, for.
B. by soldering or welding, while the stripped conductor of the cable is sealed off from the other piece of metal pipe. For example, this can be followed with the help of a plug 3 inserted or soldered into the free end of the tube 2, which has a bore 4 into which the bare cable conductor or a connection bolt placed on it is soldered.
Under certain circumstances, it may be advisable to embed the metal pipe sticks as far as possible into the insulating material, so that the distance between the pipe ends in the insulating material is as small as possible; This makes it possible to:
the penetration of moisture into the interior of the cable by diffusion through the insulating material is reduced. But you can also use two metal tube pieces with different diameters and insert them into the insulating tube. embed @ that the embedded ends. overlap, as shown in Fig. 2 of the drawing.
This creates a kind of labyrinth seal against moisture diffusion and thus the ingress of. Moisture largely prevented.
Terminations according to the invention can be used for cables of any type; They are particularly advantageous for gas-filled power cables, for which purposes the previously customary metal termination housings with ceramic feed-through insulators were not a satisfactory solution. In Fig. 3, for example, is a
Exemplary embodiment of an end closure device formed by means of end closures according to the invention for a three-core high-voltage cable .shown. The cable is divided into the three wires 32 in the usual way by a dividing sleeve 31.
Each of these wires is then provided with an end closure which, in the sense of the invention, consists of a hard rubber tube 33 into which metal tube pieces 34 and 35 are vulcanized on both sides.
The metal pipe pieces 34 are connected to the lead sheaths of the inserted cores 32 by soldering in a gas- and liquid-tight manner, and the bare cable conductors are carried out through the metal pipe pieces 35 and sealed on them by soldering in a gas-tight and liquid-tight manner.
The fastening of these terminations is accomplished in a particularly simple manner in that the lower. Metal pipe pieces 34 are screwed to a traverse 37 with the aid of clamps 36.
The insulating tube: an end closure according to the invention does not need as in FIGS. 1 and. 2 to be cylindrical, but can:
For example, it can also be kept conical so that the construction of a special metal end head on the side of the conductor design is unnecessary. Even housings with several cable entries or exits, e.g.
B. in the manner of the dividing sleeve 31 in FIG. 3, can be designed and manufactured according to the invention.
A conical end closure according to the invention can also be used in an advantageous manner for the formation of locking sleeves for oil and gas-filled cables, as is indicated in FIG. 4 of the drawing.
Here, a conical insulating tube 42 is inserted into the outer sleeve housing 41, in the ends of which metal tube pieces 43 and 44 are inserted on both sides.
The metal tube 44 with the larger diameter is inserted into the end of the insulating hollow body with the larger diameter and is tightly connected to the muff housing 41 by:
For example, it is provided with a flange which is clamped tightly between the cylindrical part of the sleeve 41 and the insertion funnel 45, while the pipe section 43 with the small diameter is sealed off from the cable conductor 46.
It is also possible to embed metallic or non-metallic l6i- tende inlays in the insulating material. B. can serve to control potential.
