Trocknungsverfahren.
Wenn dann aber das Gut in der Kammer 7 langsam zu trock nen beginnt, ist die die Kammer 7 verlassende Trocknungsluft nur noch unvollständig mit Wasserdampf gesättigt;
Wenn das in der Kammer 7 enthaltene Gut vollständig getrocknet ist, wird es durch neues, zu trocknendes Gut ersetzt und das Ventil 13 in die in den Fig. 1 und 2 gestri chelt gezeichnete Lage umgestellt, so dass durch den Ventilator 6 geförderte Trock- nungsluft aufwärts durch- das vorgetrock nete Gut in der Kammer 8, abwärts durch das frische Gut in der Kammer 7 und dann zurück zum vergitterten Ende 10 des Schach- ;
Drying process. The present invention relates to a drying process for drying a wide variety of goods such as grass, grain, roots, fruits, ores, solid fuels, clay and chemicals.
Tests were carried out in which warm air was generated for drying purposes by air from the environment first being passed through the evaporator coil of a compression cooling unit, then over a heat exchanger arranged between the condenser and the evaporator of the unit mentioned and then via the condenser coil ; where the air was brought to a temperature above the temperature in the. Heat exchanger lay, wherein a fluid, z. B.
Air or water, which had approximately the temperature of the environment and was independent of the drying air, was used to supply the heat from the heat exchanger.
When carrying out these tests, an air heater was used to increase the temperature of the drying air after it had left the cooling unit, this temperature increase being carried out using waste heat from a fuel engine, which machine is used to drive the compressor of the refrigeration unit and to drive it of the fan was used to convey the drying air through the cooling unit, it has now been shown
that such a drying process is still significant. can be improved if it is used in closed buildings, since the temperature of the air routed through the evaporator coil before it passes the evaporator coil is then high enough to allow the heat exchanger between the evaporator and condenser to be used in the experiments mentioned to be able to do without.
The same applies if the drying process is carried out in a closed duct system using hoods and lines instead of in a closed building and the drying air, after it has passed through the material to be dried, is routed back over the evaporator pipe coil.
It has been shown in these tests that when using a cooling unit without an air heater downstream of the condenser coil, the final temperature of the drying air is limited by factors such as the possible condensation pressure, the type of coolant and the characteristics of the refrigeration compressor.
All of these factors cause limitations that make it difficult to obtain a final air temperature that exceeds 50-55 ° C when the compression cooling units are still working economically.
Such a limitation of the temperature of the drying air restricts the method if the drying of such material is restricted. only a small amount of moisture withdrawn who should, z. B. on the drying of grain and hay.
For draining plants such as grass and other green plants, root plants; Hops and other products, the proportion of which in water makes up more than 50 / a of their weight, the drying time after the process mentioned is far too long.
To dry such products, the air temperature must be increased to accelerate the drying process. Usually air temperatures above 57 C and, if possible, even above 65-70 C are used.
The drying method according to the invention is characterized in that drying air is circulated in a self-contained flow path in a main dryer, namely in succession via an evaporator coil of a compression cooling unit, a condenser coil of this unit, an air heater,
Heat is supplied to the aiis of the drive machine of the refrigeration compressor, via the goods to be dried and finally again via the evaporator coil of the compression refrigeration unit.
The prime mover for driving the refrigeration compressor is expediently an internal combustion engine, with heat from both the cooling water and the exhaust gases of this internal combustion engine being able to be fed to the air heater, so that the temperature of the drying air after leaving the air heater is higher than after passing through the Condenser coil. This air heater can work at temperatures that range up to the boiling point of water or are above if the cooling water for the internal combustion engine is kept under overpressure ge,
so that the waste heat from the internal combustion engine can heat the drying air up to temperatures of 70 C or even 77 C.
The drying air passed through the material to be dried is expediently by means. Hoods and piping returned to evaporator coil; or the entire system can be housed in a closed building for this purpose.
This ensures that a larger part of the water evaporated from the material to be dried and absorbed by the drying air condenses on the clamping pipe coil of the cooling unit and in the process gives off its latent heat to the evaporator pipe coil.
The use of waste heat from the drive machine also makes it possible to increase the amount of water clipped from the material to be dried, which in turn causes an increase in the heat returned to the cooling unit.
It is advisable to arrange the evaporator coil, the compressor, the condenser coil and the air heater, in which the waste heat from the prime mover is used, in the same tunnel-like shaft, while the fan can be placed at the end of this shaft , so that it sucks in air via the said successively arranged elements and blows it through or over the material to be dried.
You can also let the drive machine drive a transmission shaft, which drives both the refrigeration compressor and the fan. This avoids a special drive for the fan and puts more strain on the drive machine, so that the amount of waste heat that is given off to the drying air increases, which in turn increases the amount of water removed from the material to be dried.
It is known that atmospheric air with normal summer temperatures between 7.8 and 30 C removes a considerable amount of water from cut plants lying in the field.
It is common to grow plants for a long time, e.g. B. 2 to 24 hours, to be left in the field so that they can lose as much water as possible through the action of wind and sun. Moving air is particularly effective for expelling water quickly and plants treated in this way can have a water content of 80 to 60 under average summer conditions
% reduce, which process is referred to as air drying.
Where such predrying has taken place, the moisture content that remains in the item to be dried per unit of the item can be reduced particularly advantageously by half by subsequent artificial main drying. In addition, the performance of the drying system is increased as a result.
Pre-drying in the open air is often not possible, e.g. B. according to un favorable weather or where the main drying plant should take place immediately after cutting.
It is therefore advisable to use a second or even a third fan that can be driven by the same drive machine, which is used to guide the largest possible volume of atmospheric air through the material to be dried before it enters the drying chambers, so as to do so. to create approximately the same conditions as they prevail when the crops are predried in the field.
One advantage of such an arrangement is that it puts more stress on the drive machine, which means that the amount of heat given off to its cooling water and the exhaust gas temperature also increase, where this additional heat is recovered in the system for the main drying, which means that the goods to be dried are produced - The weight of water removed during the drying process is increased.
The suction side of the pre-drying fans can be arranged in such a way that these fans suck in the air via the prime mover so that the radiation heat from the prime mover contributes to the warming of the air, whereby the temperature of the pre-drying air is slightly increased, which improves the pre-drying process. result in the discovery of the goods.
If the drying air is to be heated even more, an additional air heater can be provided, which z. B. has electrical resistance elements, steam pipes or the like. In ge know cases, in which drying is to take place on farms, steam-heated equipment is often available and the corresponding steam can be used to superheat the drying air.
A preferred embodiment of a device for carrying out the method according to the invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, at the same time the said method will be explained, for example. There are shown: FIG. 1 schematically the structure of the device and FIG. 2 the flow path through the drying chambers, depending on the position of the two-way valve.
The drying device consists of the main dryer 1, in which a refrigeration compressor 2, an evaporator coil 3, a condenser coil 4, an air heater 5, a fan 6 and two drying chambers 7 and 8 are housed. All these parts, with the exception of the drying chambers 7, 8, are arranged in a tunnel-like shaft 9, at one end of which a wire mesh 10 is provided.
In the area of the other end of the shaft mün the two tubes 11 and 12, with a two-way valve 13 is seen in front of the A junction. The two chambers 7, 8 are connected to one another by a line 14.
An internal combustion engine 15 drives a transmission shaft 16, which from the drives 17 and 18 for driving the Ventila sector 6 and the refrigeration compressor 2 has.
Through a line 19 of the internal combustion engine 15 cooling water from the air heater 5 is supplied, which after its warming through a line 20, down through a coil 21 of a heat exchanger 22 and then via a line 23 back into the coil of the air heater 5 flows. At the same time, the exhaust gases from the internal combustion engine 15 flow through the heat exchanger 22 in order to increase the temperature of the water in the pipe coil 21 even further.
The mode of operation of the device is as follows: Assuming the valve 13 take the position shown in the drawing with solid lines; Material to be dried is loaded into an open-topped bowl-shaped container with a perforated bottom, which container is brought into the Kam mer 7, while the chamber 8 remains empty for the time being.
Drying air sucked through the grille 10 into the shaft 9 is dried when it passes through the cold evaporator coil 3 and is heated when it passes through the condenser coil 4. B. to 57 C. When the tube coil of the air heater 5 passes, the drying air is further heated, e.g. B. to 71 C.
This dry, warm air is now promoted by the fan 6 in the un tern part of the chamber 7 and dry net when it rises through this chamber the material to be dried contained therein (see also Fig. 2).
At the beginning of the drying process; that is, if only chamber 7 is loaded with material to be dried, the drying air exiting chamber 7 is completely saturated with water vapor.
But when the material in the chamber 7 slowly begins to dry, the drying air leaving the chamber 7 is only incompletely saturated with water vapor;
now the second chamber 8 is also filled with material to be dried, that is, that is caused by the unsaturated drying air. from the first chamber 7 is pre-dried. This flow path of the drying air is indicated in the drawing with solid lines (Fug. 1 and 2).
When the material contained in the chamber 7 is completely dried, it is replaced by new material to be dried and the valve 13 is switched to the position shown in dashed lines in FIGS. 1 and 2, so that drying air conveyed by the fan 6 up through the pre-dried goods in chamber 8, down through the fresh goods in chamber 7 and then back to the grated end 10 of the chess;
tes 9 flows to start the cycle through the cooling unit and the drying chambers again.
The two chambers 7 and 8 are alternately filled with moist material to be dried and the valve 13 is switched over each time, the drying air reversing the chamber in question each time in the opposite direction. It can be seen that, according to the arrangement described, the drying air flows in one direction through each load in order to pre-dry it, and in the other direction to finish the drying of the goods.
In each position of the valve 13 is fully constantly saturated with water vapor air, which leaves the chamber containing the ready-to-dry material, sucked back to the cold evaporator coil of the cooling unit. The moisture is deposited on the evaporator coil 3 for the purpose of drying the air.
By supplying the air from the cooling unit to the drying chambers and enclosing the entire facility in an almost airtight space, both the sensible heat and the latent heat of evaporation of the moisture contained in the air can be used in the drying process.
The internal combustion engine 15 can likewise be arranged in the shaft 9.
Before the material to be dried is introduced into one of the drying chambers 7, 8, it can be pre-dried in a chamber 26, as shown in the drawing. Atmospheric air is conveyed through the chamber 26 by means of an additional fan 27 which is driven by the transmission shaft 16.
Auxiliary units such as a hammer mill 28 and a baling press 29 can also be driven from the transmission shaft 16 by the drive machine 15.
Generated this way. the additional capacity or load on the drive machine additional waste heat, which ent neither in the main dryer 1 or in the pre-dryer chamber 26 can be used.
It goes without saying that, under certain circumstances, small amounts of fresh air can also be supplied to the closed flow path and / or small amounts of air saturated with moisture can be removed.
