Gasturbinenanlage.
Die Anord- titUig ist derart, dass, wenn beim Schliessen der Kontakte 77 die Spule 76 erregt wird, die 1ioiitaktträgerstange 67 sieh nach rechts ent gegen der Wirkung der Feder 75 bewegt und so augenblicklich die Verbindung zwischen den Leitungen 69 und 70 löst, während gleiehzei- tig durch einen Kontakt 79 das Solenoid 76 mit der Hauptleitung 58b verbunden wird, und zwar über eine parallel zu den Kontakten 77 und der Leitung 78b geschaltete Leitung <B>7 Se;
Gas turbine plant. The present invention relates to a gas turbine plant for jet propulsion.
Such a gas turbine system usually has a compressor for conveying compressed air into a combustion device, a turbine to which the combustion gases from the combustion device are supplied and which is used to drive the compressor, and an exhaust device to which the turbine exhaust gases are supplied from which these gases are ejected into the atmosphere through a lifting nozzle to generate a drive thrust.
It is often required that the thrust generated by the system can be increased for a certain time beyond the maximum achievable by the system, and by such a time. To achieve a limited increase in thrust, it is customary to burn further fuel in the exhaust gases in an afterburning device and thereby heat the exhaust gases.
It is also customary in systems with a close-up combustion device to provide a thrust nozzle at the outlet of the exhaust gas device, the effective cross-section of which is variable, with the thrust nozzle in operation when the combustion device is in operation is adjusted without the use of the post-burning device in the sense of enlarging its cross-sectional effect.
The present invention now relates to a jet propulsion gas turbine system with an afterburning device and a thrust nozzle at the outlet of the exhaust gas device, the effective cross section of which is variable. The main purpose of the invention is to provide a system of the type mentioned, in which safety measures are provided when initiating the post-combustion.
According to the invention, the system has a control device, the means for triggering the fuel supply to the afterburning device, means for initiating the combustion of the supplied fuel, means for triggering an opening movement of the adjusting means of the nozzle simultaneously with the triggering of the fuel supply and time-dependent actuable means for switching off the fuel supply if the nozzle does not open to a certain cross-section within a certain time from the moment of the simultaneous triggering of the fuel supply and the opening movement of the nozzle adjustment means.
The fact that the fuel supply and the opening of the nozzle are triggered simultaneously has the advantage that no thrust load due to opening of the nozzle occurs before fuel is burned in the afterburning device.
Since care is also taken to ensure that fuel is only fed to the post-combustion device when the nozzle has opened to a certain cross-section, the nozzle and other parts of the exhaust device cannot be damaged due to overheating if the nozzle adjustment fails.
The arrangement is expedient in such a way that the fuel supply can only be continued if the nozzle, which can be adjusted from a minimum to a maximum open position, for example, within a certain time. z. B. three seconds, is fully open.
The means which can be actuated as a function of time are expediently designed so that they also put the combustion initiation means out of operation at the same time as the fuel supply means. These means, which can be actuated as a function of time, are expediently designed in such a way that they also bring about a closing movement of the nozzle adjusting means.
In this way, if the nozzle does not open to the predetermined cross-section within the specified time, not only is the risk of damage to the nozzle parts reduced as a result of the fuel supply being switched off, but also as a result of the nozzle being returned to its original position, which it had before it was put into operation the exhaust combustion unit (usually the minimum opening position), the thrust of the system is brought to the normal value, which is greater than the thrust that would be achieved if the nozzle were in an open position,
which lies between its normal position and the position provided during operation of the close-up combustion unit.
The accompanying drawing shows an embodiment of the gas turbine system according to the invention, FIG. 1 schematically showing the system with fuel supply device and control device, FIG. 2 showing a detail from FIG. 1 on a larger scale,
3 shows a detail of the system shown in FIG. 1, and FIG. 4 shows a section along the line 4-4 in FIG. According to FIG. 1, the gas turbine system has a compressor 10, which is designed as an axial compressor, a main combustion device 11 which can be of any known type and to which a turbine 12 is connected and which is used to drive the compressor 10 .
The plant owns. fer ner an exhaust gas device 13 with a jet pipe 13a, at the outlet of which a thrust nozzle is provided, the cross section of which is adjustable and which has two nozzle segments 13b which are hinged to the outlet end of the jet pipe. These segments are adjustable between a maximum (shown in full lines in Fig.l) and a minimum (shown in dashed lines in Fig. 1) open position.
During normal operation of the gas turbine plant, fuel is burned only in the main combustion device 11. The fuel is taken from a fuel tank 14 through a line 15, with a pump 16 which can be driven by the system and which guides the fuel through a line 17 to a fuel distribution pipe 18.
From here, the fuel passes into a plurality of annularly arranged burners 19, from which it flows into the combustion device.
When operating a plant of the type mentioned, it is often desirable to briefly enlarge the scliub generated by the plant beyond the value that can be maximally achieved by the turbine exhaust gases. In order to achieve this brief increase in thrust, the exhaust gases flowing through the exhaust device 13 are reheated in a so-called Naeliverbren- nungseinriclitung. A burner 20 for supplying fuel to the jet pipe 13a, as was previously the case, is shown in Fig. 1 and in Fig. 2 (larger scale).
The burner 20 has three separate fuel injectors. The first of these devices has an atomizer 21 with a single nozzle opening which is arranged on the downstream side of a guide cone 22 and within the latter. This first device also has an electric ignition device 23 associated with the atomizer, which is attached to the wall of the guide cone 22 as usual. The nozzle opening of said atomizer 21 can be fed through a line 24 pilot fuel.
The second fuel injection device has a plurality of nozzle openings 25 which are arranged in a nozzle body 26. The latter is coaxial with the atomizer 21, but upstream of the guide cone 22 to be ordered. The 1lehrfachdüse 25, 26 forms an auxiliary fuel supply device.
The third fuel supply device be seated with a plurality of. Holes are provided by radial arms 27 which protrude outward from a hub 8. The latter forms the middle piece of the burner 20, the radial arms having central bores which connect the first higher in the arms with a chamber 28a in the hub 28.
The auxiliary fuel injection device, formed by the teaching nozzle 25, 26, and the main fuel injection device, formed by the arms 27, receive fuel through a line 29 which leads to the chamber 28 a in the hub 28. The openings 25 in the nozzle body 26 are connected to the chamber 28cs through a throttle opening 30.
The atomizer 21 is supplied with pilot fuel from the main fuel supply system of the plant through a line 31, which is branched off from the delivery line 17 and fed to the supply pipe 24 of the atomizer. The fuel flow from the conduit 31 into the atomizer conduit 24 is. controllable by a shut-off valve 32, the actuation of which can be controlled by a solenoid device 33. The coil of this device is connected to a circuit 34.
The arrangement is. in such a way that the shut-off cock 32 is open when the coil is energized and thus. The fuel from the main fuel supply system of the system can flow to the atomizer. The fuel supply system of the multiple nozzle 25, 26 and the arms 27 of the burner of the afterburning unit is from the main fuel supply system of
The system is separated and is referred to below as the fuel supply device.
This after-fuel supply system has a fuel tank 35, from which fuel can be conveyed by means of a feed pump 36 through a pipe 37 to the inlet of a centrifugal feed pump 38. The outlet of the feed pump 38 is connected to the line 29 by a line 39. The fuel flow from the line 39 into the line 29 is controlled by a shut-off valve 40.
This shut-off valve 40 in the after-fuel supply system is controlled by a solenoid device 41, the coil of which is connected to the electrical supply lines 42. The arrangement is such that the shut-off valve 40 is open when the coil is energized and allows fuel to flow to the multiple nozzle 25, 26 and to the arms 27.
The centrifugal pump 38 of the local fuel supply system can be driven in any way. In the present case, an air turbine 43 is provided for this purpose, to which compressed air drawn off from the outlet of the compressor 10 is fed through a line 44. The speed of the air turbine 43 and thus the feed pump 38 is controlled by a throttle 45, the setting of which is carried out by a hydraulic control device 46 with a valve 47. The valve 47 is operated by a solenoid device 48, the coil of which is connected to the electrical supply lines 49.
The arrangement is such that the throttle 45 is closed when the coil is not excited and that the valve 47 is closed when the coil is excited and the hydraulic control device 46 then adjusts the throttle 45. The details of the construction and operation of this control device for driving the pump 38 is described in more detail in Swiss Patent No. 294466.
The nozzle segments 13b can be adjusted between the positions shown in FIG. 1 by means of a pneumatic servo motor 50. The piston 50a of the servo motor 50 is connected to the segments 13b by means of links 51. To operate the servo motor 50, compressed air is drawn off from the outlet of the compressor 10 and fed through a line 52 to the cylinder of the servo motor. In line 52, a reversing valve 53 is hen vorgese, which connects the line 52 ver with lines 54, which each lead to one of the chambers formed by the Kol ben in the cylinder of the servo motor 50.
The reversing valve 53 be seated a piston spool 53a, which in the position shown allows compressed air to flow from the line 52 into that line 54, which leads to the right-hand cylinder chamber in the drawing, while the other Leitrang 54 is connected to an outlet line 55. In this position of the slide 53a, the nozzle segments 13b are held in the position shown with solid lines in FIG.
In the other position of the slide 53a, the cylinder chamber on the left in the drawing is connected to the line 52 by the line 54, while the other line 54 is connected to the outlet line 55. The nozzle segments 13b are held in this case in the position shown with dashed lines.
The spool 53a is controlled by a solenoid device 56, the coil of which is connected to the electric power supply lines 57. The arrangement is such that when the coil is energized, the piston slide 53a assumes that position in which the nozzle segments 13b are fully open (fully drawn position in FIG. 1), while when the coil is not energized it assumes that position in which the nozzle segments 13b are closed (dashed position in Fig.l).
The solenoid devices 33, 41, 48 and 5 6 are arranged so that they are excited simultaneously. They are connected in parallel to the main power lines 58a, 58b, which are connected to a suitable power source 59. Provided in line 58a is a main switch 60 which can be actuated by the pilot of the aircraft containing the system and which must be closed before the post-combustion device can be put into operation.
The electric ignition device 23 is connected to the main lines 58a and 58b by electric power supply lines 61 and can only be switched on or off by the main switch 60.
In order to prevent overheating and thus damage to the jet pipe 13a and the nozzle segments 13b when the nozzle segments 13b when burning fuel. should not open in the jet pipe, the arrangement in the present example is such that if the segments 13b do not reach their position shown in full lines in FIG. 1 within a certain time after the main switch 60 has been closed, the solenoid devices 33, 41, 48 and 56 are de-energized,
whereby the post-combustion device is put out of operation and the nozzle segments 13b are moved back into their position shown with dashed lines.
For this purpose, the following elements are arranged in the present example: The nozzle segments 13b close when they reach their position drawn with full lines, two contacts 62 which are provided in a circuit which has the lines 63 and a relay coil 64. Said circuit is connected in parallel to the main lines 58a, 58b, so that when the switch 60 is closed and the contacts 62 are also closed, the relay coil 64 is energized.
The relay coil 64 actuates a switch 65 in the main line 58a, which is net angeord between the main switch 60 and the connection points of the lines 34, 42, 49 and 57 with the main line 58a. Accordingly, when switch 65 is closed, the coils of all solenoid devices 33, 41, 48 and 56 are energized.
However, since the contacts 62 are only closed when the nozzle segments 13b are fully opened, means are provided to excite the solenoid coils while the afterburning is triggered. A time-controlled switching mechanism 66 is provided for this purpose.
This timed Sehaltaneelianismus 66 has a Kontaktträ- -; pierce 67, which carries a plurality of contacts, u. a. a contact 68 through which a line 69, which branches off from the main line 58a at a point between the selector 60 and the switch 65, is connected to a line 70 which extends from the main line 58u at one point the side of the switch 65 facing away from the @%, iiseliltissstelle of the line 69 branches off.
The contact 68 represents. also the connection between the line 69 and a line 71, which zti an electric motor 72 and a coupling coil 73 leads, the purpose of which will be explained later. The other connection terminals of the motor 72 and the coil 73 are connected by a line 74 to the main line 58a.
The contact carrier rod 67 is loaded by a spring 75, which presses this rod into a position in which the contact 68 connects the lines - 69 with the lines 70 and 71. A solenoid 76, the excitation of which is controlled by switch contacts 77, also interacts with the contact carrier rod.
The solenoid coil 76 is connected on the one hand to the main line 58a through a line 78a, namely at a point located between the switch 60 and the switch 65, and on the other hand through a line 78b: into the other main line 58b.
The arrangement is such that, when the coil 76 is excited when the contacts 77 are closed, the clock carrier rod 67 is moved to the right against the action of the spring 75 and thus instantaneously releases the connection between the lines 69 and 70, while at the same time - tig through a contact 79 the solenoid 76 is connected to the main line 58b, via a line <B> 7 Se connected in parallel to the contacts 77 and the line 78b;
In addition, this rod movement moves the contact 68 so far to the right that the connection of the lines 69 and 71 is interrupted, as a result of which the 111: o-tor 72 and the coupling coil 73 are de-energized .
According to FIGS. 3 and 4, the switch contacts 77 are arranged so that after kur zer time, z. B. after three seconds, are closed after the main switch 60 has been closed. The contacts 77 are closed by means of a cam 80 which is rotated in the direction of arrow 81 as soon as the switch 60 is closed. The cam 80 is rotated against the action of a spiral spring 85, one end of which is anchored to a fixed part 86 and the other end of which is anchored to the hub 80a of the cam 80.
The cam 80 is rotated by means of the electric motor 72 via a reduction gear 82, which drives a clutch plate 83 directly. The clutch plate 83 is with a toothed segment 84, against a resilient load, by energizing the clutch coil 73 brought into engagement. The latter forms part of the motor 72, the transmission 82, the clutch 83, 84 and the switching mechanism 7, 80 having Vorrich device.
The toothed segment 84 is fastened to the cam 80 in any suitable manner. The mode of operation of the control device described is as follows: When the post-combustion device is to be put into operation and fuel is to be burned in the jet pipe 13, the pilot closes the switch 60, so that the lines 69 , 71 and 74, the motor 72 is energized and the clutch coil 73 is energized. This engages the clutch 83, 84 and the cam 80 begins to rotate.
At the same time, the four solenoid devices 33, 41, 48 and 56 are excited via the lines 69, 70 (bypassing the switch 65), so that at the same time a) the fuel supply to the atomizer nozzle 21 begins, b) the air throttle 45 is opened, so that air reaches the air turbine 43 and thereby drives the fuel pump 38, c) the shut-off valve 40 of the after-fuel supply system is opened so that fuel is conveyed by the pump 88 to the injection openings 25 and the arms 27, and d) compressed air is supplied to the servomotor 50 so that the nozzle segments 13b begin to open.
At the same time, the Zündvorrich device 23 through the lines 61 is energized.
The pilot fuel supplied to the jet pipe by the atomizer 21 is ignited by the device 23, while the fuel coming from the nozzle openings 25 and the holes of the arms 27 is ignited by the flame which is produced by burning the fuel coming from the atomizer 21 . Normally, the combustion in the jet pipe begins before the nozzle segments 13b are fully open.
If the nozzle segments 13b are opened normally and if they reach the position shown in full lines in the drawing in a shorter time than the time required for the contacts 77 to close by the rotating cam 80, the contacts 62 are closed and the relay coil 64 is closed gets excited. As a result, the switch 65 is closed, whereby the constant energization of the four solenoid devices 33, 41, 48 and 56 regardless of the action of the timed switching mechanism 66 is guaranteed.
After a certain time, e.g. B. after three seconds, the cam 80 closes the contacts 77, whereby the solenoid 76 it is excited. As a result, the contact carrier rod 67 is moved to the right, which at the moment causes an interruption of the connection between the contact 68 and the end of the line 70, whereby the line 70 is separated from the line 69. However, this has no further influence on the system, since switch 65 is already closed.
The contact carrier rod 67 moves further to the right and, as soon as the contact 79 reaches the line 78c, which leads to the solenoid 76, a holding circuit is closed which holds the contact carrier rod 67 in its right end position until the switch 60 is opened again. Immediately before the moment in which the contact carrier rod 67 reaches its right end position, the contact 68 comes out of contact with the lines 69 and 71, whereby the coupling coil 73 is de-energized and the motor 72 is switched off.
When the coil 73 becomes de-energized, the clutch 83, 84 is disengaged and the cam 80 is rotated back into its starting position by the action of the spring 85.
If at the end of the predetermined time when the contacts 77 close, the switch 65 is still open because. the nozzle segment 13b does not reach its maximum open position and so the contacts 62 have not closed, then as soon as the contact support rod 67 moves to the right, the four solenoid devices 33, 41, 48 and 56 are de-energized because the power supply through the lines 69, 70 is interrupted.
Thus, the fuel supply to the atomizer nozzle 21, the multiple nozzle 25, 26 and the injection arms 27 is interrupted, the throttle 45 is closed and the piston valve 53c, which controls the servomotor 50, is moved into a position in which the servomotor piston 50a is moved to the right in the sense of closing the nozzle segments 13b.
The contact carrier rod 67, on the other hand, moves further to the right, the holding circuit first being closed via the line 78e, the coil 76 and the line 78a, whereupon the motor 72 and the coupling coil 73 are de-energized ; the moving parts then remain in this position until the main slider 60 is opened, which means that the solenoid 76 is de-energized and the contact carrier rod 67 can move into its left end position.
It can thus be seen that the means described contain an overheating of the nozzle segment. 13b if the latter is not in the jet pipe 13a at the beginning of the afterburning. open completely. Overheating of the turbine 12 as a result of an increase in pressure in the jet pipe 13a and the associated increase in the turbine inlet temperature is also avoided.
It can also be seen that when the time-dependent switching mechanism 66 has caused the fuel supply to be switched off, the nozzle segments 13b return to their starting position (smallest nozzle cross-section), whereby the thrust generated by the system also assumes its normal value again; there is thus no further loss of thrust due to the nozzle segments 13b remaining open.
It should also be noted that, if the time-dependent switching mechanism 66 has prevented further burning of fuel in the jet pipe 13, the fuel supply system cannot take effect until the pilot opens the switch 60. and closed again.
