In andern Fällen, z.
Device for attaching metal capsules to the mouth of a vessel. The present invention relates to devices for attaching metal capsules to vessel mouths by rolling the un tern edge of the capsule against the mouth wall or under a protruding mouth bead.
The device according to the invention has a hollow flared flanged ring, which is known per se and is arranged around the mouth, which tightly encloses the capsule shell with its cylindrical part and which presses the lower edge of the capsule onto its hollow groove protruding inwardly towards the mouth and thus rolls it inward spirally.
In the known devices of this type, the edge of the capsule is pressed by a Stem pel on the groove, which also serves to press the capsule base onto the mouth at the same time. This double task of the punch does not allow the roll-in process of the lower edge of the capsule or the pressing of the capsule base to act separately, and these processes are independent depending on the various properties of the mouth and the closure capsule or the desired degree of sealing to change and influence each other.
The invention eliminates this inconvenience by providing a separate stamp for the curling of the lower Kap selrandes, which has the only task to press the Kapselman tel on the groove of the flanged ring. If necessary, the capsule base is pressed onto the eefässznündun.g with the help of a second punch (pusher), which is separate and independent from the rolling punch.
The device according to the invention is characterized in that a ring stamp coaxial with this is arranged above the crimp ring, which rests on the edge part of the capsule base and fits into the cylindrical part of the crimp ring, means being provided that the ring stamp in the direction Press down against the fillet projection of the flanged ring to below the edge of the capsule base.
According to a preferred embodiment form is a separate from this pusher for pressing the capsule base on the mouth angeord net within the ring punch, means are provided that adjust the ring punch and the pusher independently of each other in the axial direction.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the inner diameter of the ring punch is greater than the outer diameter of the mouth to be closed and between the mouth wall and the cylindrical part of the crimp ring, a ring-shaped free space is left in which the ring punch is inserted below the level of the mouth can be.
The invention is illustrated in more detail with reference to the following description of some preferred Ausfüh approximately examples. It shows: FIGS. 1 to 3 a device according to the invention in section in three successive working phases, FIGS. 4 and 5 a special embodiment of the fluted flanged ring A in a top view and the closure capsule rolled up with it in a side view,
6 and 7 show a particular embodiment of the ring punch according to the invention in section - and the closure capsule rolled up therewith in plan view, FIGS. 8 and 9 the mode of operation of the ring punch according to FIG. 6 in section XIV-XIV and XV-XV of Fig. 7.
The device according to the invention shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 has a plate 1, which is sprung by spiral springs 2 and which carries the vessel R to be closed. Immediately below the vessel mouth and around it, a fixed crimp ring 3 is arranged, which stands with its upper cylindrical part at some distance from the mouth wall and thus leaves an annular space around the mouth.
Furthermore, the flanged ring 3 has a lower, inwardly directed, fillet projection 103 towards the mouth.
Gber the vessel R is arranged in the axial Rich direction adjustable stamp carrier 6, which can be suppressed by the pressure plate 8 and with the aid of the springs 9 inserted between them. In the stamp carrier 6 a central bolt 7 is screwed, which is freely movable through the pressure plate 8 and is suspended from this with its upper head 107.
In a lower ring groove 106 of the punch carrier 6, the ring punch 5 is mounted, which is freely adjustable in relation to the carrier 6 in the axial direction, has a slightly larger inner diameter than the outer diameter of the mouth and is cylindrical. Part of the crimp ring 3 fits into it, so that it can be inserted into the annular space between crimp ring 3 and the mouth wall.
At the upper part of the ring stamp 5 axially directed parallel pins 10 are attached (see also Figure 6), which are freely movable through the stamp carrier 6 leads ge and protrude on the top thereof.
On the lower side of the punch carrier 6, the pusher 4 is fastened with the help of a screw 207 inserted into the bolt 7, the outer diameter of which is almost equal to the inner diameter of the ring punch 5.
The mode of operation of the device described above is as follows: The closure capsule C placed on the mouth of the vessel R is tightly enclosed by the cylindrical part of the crimp ring 3 in accordance with its lateral casing part. The lower edge of the capsule, which preferably has an inwardly rolled up front fold P, comes to rest on the fillet projection 103.
The ring die 5 rests freely on the edge part of the capsule base protruding beyond the mouth edge (FIG. 1). Then the pressure plate 8 is adjusted downwards (arrow A) and thus the Stempelträ ger 6 and the pusher 4, with partial compression of the springs 9, pressed onto the Mün extension. The bottom of the capsule is pressed against the mouth and held firmly. As a result of the axial pressure, the vessel R is adjusted downwards against the springs 2, while the lower edge of the capsule or the front fold P is supported and supported by the fixed groove projection 103. is recorded (Fug. 2).
As a result, the capsule base is driven up the edge and bulges out upwards, as shown in B of FIG. The ring die 5, which is freely adjustable upward within suitable limits, is raised until the pins 10 push against the pressure plate 8. By pressing down further. the pressure plate 8 pushes the ring die 5 into the annular space left between the crimp ring 3 and the mouth wall until its lower edge comes to lie below the edge of the capsule base or below the upper mouth plane (Fig. 3).
As a result, the capsule jacket is pressed against the fillet projection 103, and the lower edge of the capsule is rolled inward in a spiral shape. The tin-rolled fold 1'1 formed in this way encircles the mouth of the vessels and secures the closure capsule C.
From the illustrated Ausführungsbei game is z--. It can be seen that the actual rolling-in process of the lower capsule rim of the invention can be acted on in any way, regardless of the pressing process of the capsule base on the mouth to be closed.
So ztun example you can choose and determine the point in time and the altitude at which the ring stamp 5 after previous - pressing the pusher 4 into effect, by, for example, from interchangeable spacers between the stamp carrier 6 and the ring stamp 5 itself or The head ends of the pins 10 are inserted.
In special cases, if, for example, no or only a weak Dichtungswir effect of the 'closure can be achieved, you can dispense ver pressing the capsule base on the mouth edge by means of pusher 4 and only let the ring punch 5 work in the manner described .
In other cases, e.g. B. when closing conical vessel mouths (Fig.1- to 3), you can first suppress the ring die 5 and thereby form a fold in the lower edge of the capsule and only then after the pusher 4 press on the mouth. In this way, the entire vessel is subsequently pressed down against the springs 2, and the finished roll-in fold, which is supported on the fixed cave projection 103, is firmly pressed around the upper, wider ignition part.
In the case of strong metal capsules, the flared ring 3 can have an inner ring of chamfer teeth 203 instead of a continuous ring-shaped fillet projection 103 (FIG. 4), which form the lower edge of the closure capsule C1. Roll in only in individual points (Fig. 5).
The ring die 105 shown in FIG. 6 is particularly suitable for closing vessels which are subject to subsequent heating (e.g. sterilization) and in which the closure capsule must allow the gas pressures coming out of the vessel to escape.
The lower edge of this ring punch 105 is interrupted in places by slots 205 (Fig. 6 and 9), under which. 103 grains 303 or the like are attached to the upper flute side of the flanged projection (FIG. 9). When attaching the caps sel C2 on the vessel R press the full edge parts of the ring punch 105 the capsule shell to below the mouth level her under (Fig. 8), while the parts 13 of the caps selbodenrandes, which lie in accordance with the slots 205 come,
remain unaffected and are not bent around the mouth edge (Fig. 7 and 9). The seal G is not completely compressed at the points 13 and allows excess pressure to escape in the vessel. In accordance with the grains 303, the roll-in fold P1 is notched so that it is not full at the locations 13 for short distances. rests on the mouth wall and allows the escape of the escaped gases or vapors without weakening the anchoring of the capsule (Fig. 9).
According to a further embodiment, not shown in detail, the plate -1, which carries the vessel to be closed, is net angeord on a bearing designed as a ball joint. The ring die 5 and the flared flange 3/103 can of course also be composed of a number of segments that are independent of one another, that complement one another or that are separated by gaps.
