Fig. 5 veranschaulicht einen Längsschnitt durch ein Winkelhandstüek.
Handpiece for drilling, milling and grinding tools.
The present invention relates to a handpiece for drilling, milling and grinding tools, in particular for use on the dental drill and on the technical motor in dental laboratories, with a driver element for the tool which carries an automatically acting tensioning device having tensioning rollers, and a sleeve for this driver element.
According to the invention, such a handpiece is characterized in that the sleeve for the purpose of centering the driver element carries a bearing for the driver element and carries a second bearing which is used to be inserted into the automatic clamping device to receive certain tool shank, the driver member having play with respect to this second bearing.
In the drawing, three exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown.
Fig. 1 illustrates a longitudinal section through a handpiece with an inserted clamping device.
Fig. 2 illustrates a longitudinal section through the Spannvorriehtung on a larger scale.
FIG. 3 is a crosspiece according to A-B of FIG. 2.
4 illustrates a handpiece such as can be used in particular for the technical motor in dental laboratories, and
Fig. 5 illustrates a longitudinal section through an angle handpiece.
The handpiece according to FIGS. 1 to 3 has a sleeve 1 formed by a straight tube, in which the shaft 2, which forms the driver element, lies with the necessary clearance for the drilling, milling or grinding tool used. The storage and centering of this shaft in the sleeve is carried out on the one hand by a small ball bearing 3 arranged on its rear end, which rests with its outer ring 4 on the shoulder 5 of a recess 6 provided at the rear end of the sleeve and on the other hand by the shaft 7 of the tool inserted into the chuck, the guidance of which takes place through the nipple 8, which is provided with a longitudinal bore and forms a bearing, which,
is screwed onto the front end of the sleeve 1 and seals the front end of the sleeve.
The further holding of the above-mentioned ball bearing 3 is effected by the attachment piece 9 which, when screwed into the above-mentioned, internally threaded recess 6, is supported with its lower end face on the outer ring 4 of the ball bearing and prevents its rotation.
The rear end of the drive shaft 2 ends in a screw spindle 10, onto which a sleeve 12 is screwed with the interposition of a small conical intermediate piece 11, to which the drive shaft of the device is connected and for fastening the drill hose or the so-called Doriot rod or the other drive means with the drive shaft on the hand piece, the attachment piece 9 is provided in a manner known per se with a notch 13 and a seat 14 into which the fastening means of the connection piece of the drill hose jump when pushed onto the pipe 9.
The driver shaft 2 consists of a one-piece piece, and its length is dimensioned such that a clearance 49 remains between its front end and the nipple 8. The front end of the drive shaft is provided with a longitudinal bore 13a, the circular side wall 14c6 of which has been reshaped in the front part by lateral compression to an equal thickness, as can be seen from the sectional view of FIG. Instead of compressing the side wall of the circular bore with an equal thickness, the bore could of course also be drilled in a straight line from the start.
The tension roller receiving member for the tool to be used is arranged in this bore 13a. This organ consists of a short rod 1 made of steel or the like, which is provided with a longitudinal bore 16 for about 3/4 of its length. On the said rod, three longitudinal slots 17 are also arranged at the same distance, which extend over the entire length of the statbe and through which the wall of the bore 16 is cut in such a way that three resilient prongs 18 are formed. In the space formed by these prongs, the diameter of which corresponds to the shaft diameter of the tool to be used, the tool is inserted and held by said prongs when the drive is stationary.
A tensioning roller 19 is located in each of the mentioned longitudinal strand strands 17, which rollers on the one hand touch the shaft 7 of the tool inserted in the stretching roller receiving member in the strand strands and which on the other hand protrude slightly outward beyond the circumference of the stretching roller receiving member, as can be seen from FIG 3 can be seen.
The diameter of this tension roller receiving member including the tension rollers is dimensioned so that when it is inserted into the bore 13a of the pickup shaft 2 in such a way that the tension rollers are located in the corners of the approximately triangular hole, a certain lateral pivoting of the tension roller Receiving organ in the approximately triangular bore 13a is possible.
If, however, the driving shaft 2 is set in rotation, the tensioning rollers hit the side walls of the triangular bore 13a that are closer to the tensioning rollers than the corners, so that a coupling between the driving shaft and the tool takes place automatically, with the pressure of the tensioning rollers the latter is held on the shaft of the tool and the pressure of the tension rollers on the shaft of the tool also increasing as the speed of the drive shaft increases, and a secure hold of the tool is ensured. In the clamping position shown in FIG. 3, the prongs 18 of the receiving element have been pushed apart somewhat by the clamping rollers 19, so that they no longer rest on the tool shaft 7.
If the rotary movement of the driver shaft stops, the described coupling is released again, or it can easily be brought about by turning the clamped tool slightly in the opposite direction, so that the tool can now also be pulled out of the tensioning roller receiving member.
In order to further improve the hold between the tensioning rollers and the shank of the tool, the surface of the tensioning rollers is also roughened by grooves or flat threads (buttress threads), as indicated at 20.
The insertion or replacement of the tools is thus carried out in the handpiece simply by inserting the tool with its shaft 7 through the bore of the nipple 8 into the clamping roller receiving member 15 between the prongs 18, while the tool is clamped when it is started up Device takes place by itself without any fastening devices to be used.
As can be seen, the handpiece described consists of relatively few parts, which on the one hand increases operational reliability, but also makes it easier to disassemble for any cleaning and sterilization and assembly.
In order to facilitate the disassembly, a small hole 21 is arranged on the extension piece 9 opposite the slot 14 through which a hairpin! shaped curved key 22 can be plugged in.
By turning the key sideways, the attachment piece 9 can be easily unscrewed and the driver shaft 2 with the clamping device can be removed from the sleeve 1. Furthermore, the nipple 8 is provided with two small trough-like depressions 23, onto which the key 22, lifted from the side, can then be used to unscrew the nipple for the purpose of cleaning, or replacing the latter. Furthermore are. Hollow parts of the handpiece are provided with outwardly leading openings 24, 25, through which the oil can easily run off after the parts have been set up during oil sterilization.
The handpiece according to FIG. 4 differs from that according to FIGS. 1 to 3 only in that the nipple 8a at the front end of the sleeve 1 is shortened and behind this a ball bearing 6 has been arranged in the said sleeve. through which the shank 7 of the tool is guided. This handpiece is particularly suitable for more difficult work in the dental laboratory, and it has the advantage that, as a result of the use of this ball bearing, practically any friction between the tool shaft and the nipple bore is avoided.
Said ball bearing sits on a Biichse 27, which is held in a recess of the sleeve 1 by two freely rotatable side plates 28 on the sleeve. If the nipple 8 is tightened, the side washers 28 lay firmly against the outer ring of the ball bearing and hold it firmly against the shoulder 29 of the aforementioned recess, resting on the rear side disk 28, so that the inner ball bearing ring opens when the tool used rotates the outer ball bearing ring rotates. The sleeve 27 is provided with the flange 28 and the flange sleeve 28b is provided.
A space 30 is formed, which is advantageous for catching grinding dust and the like. To further seal the handpiece against the ingress of dust, a sealing washer 31 made of felt or the like is also arranged in the nipple 8a. The length of the driver shaft 2 is dimensioned such that a play space 50 remains between its front end and the flange 28a of the bushing 27. The second bearing, which is used to hold the tool shank, is formed here by parts 8a, 26 and 27.
Since the tool used is driven from the side in the case of an angled handpiece according to FIG. 5, the tool must center the drive shaft here, for which purpose the clamping device for the tool requires a certain modification. In FIG. 5, the adjustable angle arm is designated by 32, the head piece 33 of which forms a sleeve for a tubular driver element 34 which, by means of a bored through pivot pin arranged on the floor. 35 is mounted in the lower locking nut 36 of the head piece, which lock nut forms the bearing element. The bore of this pivot 35 forms the first bearing for the shaft 37 of the tool used.
For its drive, the driver member 34 is provided on its outer surface with a toothed ring 38 in which the angular gear drive 39 of the drive shaft 40 engages. In the driver element 34, the casing of which, as described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 4, is compressed laterally in such a way that a sleeve bore in the form of a straight die is obtained, the tension roller receiving element 41 is arranged.
This tensioning element consists of a thick-walled small tube with a bore corresponding to the diameter of the tool shank, in which three longitudinal strand braids 42 are arranged with an even mutual spacing, but which do not extend over the entire length of the tube, but just in front of the bottom End end and through which the jacket surface is divided into three resilient prongs 42a. In each of these longitudinal slots 42 there is a tensioning roller 46, the outer surface of which is expediently roughened.
A bearing body 43, which forms the second bearing for the tool shank 37 and is itself mounted in the upper bearing bushing 44 of the head piece 33, is carried along by a driver 45 of the driver element 34 engaging in a recess 45a as it rotates . Compared to the bearing body 43, the driver member 34 has the clearance 51.
If the driver element 34 is set in rotation, the clamping rollers run onto the inner wall of the driver element 34, as described in more detail in connection with the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3, and form a wedge lock with the tool shank clamped. The tool is inserted by simply pushing the tool into the clamping device, and its fastening is carried out automatically during the turning process by the clamping device, without the need for a special aids as before.
The tools are also exchanged by simply pulling them out of the clamping device when the drive is at a standstill.
For the connection of the drive shaft 40 to the shaft 47, a ball joint 48 known per se is advantageously used. nt, so that storage is no longer required here.
