Device for changing the air pressure in vehicle tires while driving. Various devices are known that allow the air pressure in vehicle tires to be changed, if necessary, while driving. In some cases, the arrangement was such that the air-tight connection between a fixed part of the vehicle and the circulating load was only made automatically when required. This largely prevented the seal from wearing out. However, the known devices are not suitable due to their structure, the air pressure even while driving. to eat.
Furthermore, the known devices also do not allow a design in which the change in air pressure is carried out automatically.
The present invention seeks to eliminate the disadvantages of the known Vorrielrtungen. The device according to the invention for changing the air pressure in vehicle tires is also possible while driving.
one in which the connection between a fixed part of the Fahrzeu and the rimlaufenden wheel can be made by means of compressed air, and it draws net see through a pressure transmission body which is axially displaceable to the rotating wheel and which looks with an axial one The bore is in alignment with the seat of the centrally arranged tire valve body, a needle displaceable in the bore being set up to
to allow the tire valve body to be lifted at will to measure the tire pressure, even while driving.
The axial displacement of the pressure transmission body can advantageously be effected by means of a piston controlled by means of compressed air, to which a locking member is assigned. is that holds it in the attack position on the pressure transfer body regardless of the air pressure. Furthermore, a bore can lead through this piston which, in the working position of the pressure transmission body, is directed to optionally connect the tire to a filling air line or to a measuring air line.
The device can be set up for the axial displacement of the pressure transmission body by hand or by means of control elements, for example magnetic coils, which operate automatically as a function of the tire pressure. The device can be supplemented by pressure gauges, if necessary for each individual tire of the vehicle.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the invention is illustrated. 1 shows a longitudinal section through a valve along line I-1 of FIG. FIG. 2 shows a section along line 11-II in FIG. 1. 3 shows a longitudinal section through the middle part of the valve when actuated, FIG. 4 shows a section along line IV-IV of FIGS. 5,

10 shows a longitudinal section of the parts according to FIG. 9 in the rest position of the valve, FIG. 11 shows the guide bushing and the bolt when the valve is actuated, and FIG. 12 shows a view of the control and setting devices on the dashboard.
In the device shown, depending on the wheel tire and thus. a valve is assigned to each wheel center of the vehicle.
The housing 1 of the valve consists of a fixed housing part 4 and a fixed housing part 4 secured by means of a threaded connector 2 with the fixed wheel axle. the wheel body connected rotate around the housing part 3. Both housing parts are supported on each other by a ball bearing 5 abge.
In the pierced steering knuckle, three lines are led to the valve, namely a Dinlckluftleitung 6 from a compressed air tank (not shown), a measuring air line 7 to the tire pressure gauge on the dashboard and a cable 8 from the dashboard.
The fixed housing part 4 of the valve axially carries a pressure cylinder 9 and a pressure piston 10 displaceable in it in the axial direction. Against rotation. the pressure piston 10 gesiehert through its leadership in grooves 11. On the pressure cylinder 9 sits a limiting ring 12, which gives the spring piston 13 located in the pressure piston 10 an on sehlag. A compression spring 14 is arranged between the two pistons. The spring piston 13 receives its central guidance from the pressure piston 10.
A cylinder antechamber 1.5 is upstream of the pressure piston 10 in the pressure cylinder 9, which has a smaller diameter than the Druekzy cylinder bore so that the pressure piston. 10 cannot get into the anteroom when it is returned to the rest position. In the cylinder antechamber 15 there is a tension spring 16 which connects the cylinder 9 to the piston 10 and has the task of returning it to its rest position when the valve is switched off and holding it there.
In the pressure cylinder 9 there is axially a bolt 17 which has a longitudinal bore 18 and a recess 19 on the part facing away from the pressure piston. (Fig. 10). The bolt 17 is screwed to the pressure cylinder 9 and is there. the pressure piston, 10 a central guide. The recess 19 serves to receive a valve cone 20 which is rigidly connected to a needle 21. The needle 21 is. held weaker in diameter than the bore 18 of the bolt 17. For the purpose of a central. Guide during the actuation, the needle 21 with guide wings 22 is seen ver.
The bolt 17 carries a sliding bush 23 arranged on it. When actuating the plunger 10, it is driven by a solenoid 2-I (FIG. 4), which lets a one-armed ilebel 25 snap into a recess 26 located in it taken away. The lever. 25 is brought back into its rest position by a tension spring 2: 7.
Now compressed air gets past a valve cone 28 into the cylinder chamber 15, the pressure piston 10 is brought into its working position while taking the guide bushing 23 and held in it. This takes place by means of an angle lever 29 which can be actuated by a magnetic coil 30 and the nose 31 of which engages in a notch 32 of the pressure piston 10.
After locking of the pressure piston 10, the locking of the guide bushing 23 by the solenoid 24 is canceled. A tension spring 33 arranged next to Leitbuebse 23 and 1) cylinder 11 brings. the former back to its original position. The Leitbiiehse 23 has a bore 34. The Bol zen 17 also has a bore 35 in the area of its seat in the guide bush 23, which with. its axial bore 18 is in connection.
In the rest position of the pressure piston 10, these two superimposed bores 34 and 35 are covered by the pressure piston 10. When sliding back the guide bush 23 in its initial position, these two holes get freely one above the other in the cylinder antechamber. Thus, the compressed air can now pass through these bores into the axial bore 18 of the bolt 17.
The spring piston 13 is axially fixed but rotatably connected to a pressure transmission body 37 by a secured screw connection 36. The pressure transmission body 37 has the shape of an axially drawn apart ball and has a bore 38 in its longitudinal axis. In the rest position of the pressure piston 10, it is freely rotatable in a round, trough-shaped recess of the spring piston 13. Its bore 38 houses the needle. 21 passed through.
Upon actuation of the pressure piston 10 and thus. of the spring piston 13, the pressure transmission body 37 is pressed into a hemispherical bulge 39 of the circumferential housing part 3. As a result, the bore 38 of the pressure transmission body 37 reaches the aligned access channel 40 of a conical bore 41 in the rotating part 3 of the valve housing 1. Since the spring piston 13 is only held axially displaceable, takes place. if necessary a courage to turn the pressure transferring tag body 37.
The needle 21 protrudes close to the bore 41 and can lift a central tire valve cone 42 closing it off in the event of an axial displacement towards the bore 41.
The compressed air line 6 opens into an airtight, closed chamber 43. In: this there is a magnetic coil 44 and a two-armed lever 45 actuated by it, which is rotatably mounted around point 46. When the solenoid 44 is switched on, the valve cone 28 can be raised and thereby compressed air can be supplied to the rotating valve housing part 3 on the path previously described. Has a tension spring 47. the task of returning the two-armed lever 45 to its rest position when not actuated.
An airtight chamber 48 is arranged in the pressure cylinder 9, into which the measuring air line 7 connected to a tire pressure gauge opens. In the chamber 48 are the: there is a solenoid 49 and a two-armed lever 58, which engages the valve cone 20 located in the recess 19 of the bolt 17 and thus the needle 21. A tension spring 51 returns the two-armed lever 50 to its starting position.
In order to supply inflation air to the revolving part 3 of the valve housing and thus to the tire, the two-armed lever 45 is not only actuated by the magnetic coil 44 in the chamber 43, but also by the magnetic coil 49 of the two-armed lever 50 in the chamber 48 and thus also the needle 21 so that the valve cone 4,2 is raised.
If, however, tire air is to be withdrawn from the rotating part of the valve housing for measurement, the valve cone 28 must be lifted by means of the solenoid 44 for the passage of a compressed air flow, which in this case only has the task of pushing the pressure piston 10 into its position on pressure transmission body 37 and to bring this into contact with the surrounding housing part 3. After the blockage has been reached, the current flow to the magnetic coil 44 is interrupted, and thus also the further supply of compressed air. The solenoid 49 is then actuated, with the result that the valve cone 20 is lifted and the needle 21 is brought into engagement with the valve cone 42.
This ensures that tire air from the rotating housing part 3 through the drilling 18 into the chamber 48 and thus. passes through the measuring air line 7 to the pressure gauge attached for this purpose. If the tire pressure is to be reduced, it is sufficient to switch on the magnetic coil 49. The valve needle 21 lifts the cone 42 from its seat and the tire air can freely escape.
The mentioned 'switching of the magnets can be done arbitrarily by hand or automatically. The means for automatic switching are set out below.
In the stationary housing part 4, a 'switch 52' for the filling, a switch '53 for ventilation and mere guide elements are arranged around the pressure cylinder 9. The individual switches and guide members sit in cylinders 52 'and 5i3' on 'part 54 of the fixed housing part 4. The switches be each sit two opposing rows of metal plates 55 one behind the other, which are isolated from each other by non-conductive plates 5.6. In the Zylin countries 52 'and 513' is a piston 57 displaceable bar, which is provided with two or one contact ring 58 at the switches. The piston 57 carries a roller 59 at its end facing the circumferential housing part.
In. inside is. a piston rod 6 @ 1 carrying a collar 60 is arranged. The piston rod 61 is guided through a cylinder cover 62. A compression spring 63 is located between this and the collar 60.
Two thrust rings 64 and 65 are concentrated in the surrounding housing part so that they are arranged in such a way that when the surrounding housing part 3 rotates, they form a running surface of the assigned rollers 5. The thrust rings 64 and 65 are located in recesses 6,6 of the circumferential housing part 3 and are three equally far. vonein other distant points by push rods 67 each connected to a control piston 68 guided in the cylinder 69. is.
Each cylinder 69 is with. a screwed-on cap 70 is provided. A pressure spring 71 is located between the control piston 68 and the sealing cap 70. The tire pressure air presses through openings 72 in the cylinder 69. on the control piston 68.
Since the thrust ring 61 or 65 is connected to the control piston 68 via the push rod 67, the piston 57 is shared with the piston 57 via the running rollers 59 running under spring pressure in the circumferential housing part 3. The pistons 5 7 brush with their contact rings 58 when the piston is actuated, the conductive metal plates 55 and thus establish a power connection between the metal plates of the opposite rows to the extent that the Metallplat th are coated one after the other.
When Füllungssebalter 52 two groups of metal plate rows are provided. The first group is used to control the filling. If, for example, the driver of the vehicle sets a certain filling pressure value, current is consequently conducted to the metal plate 55 corresponding to this pressure value. As long as the tire pressure is below half of this value, the magnetic coils required for the filling are switched on, so that compressed air is supplied.
As the tire pressure increases, the piston 57 is displaced until it touches the electrified metal plate 55 of one row with its contact ring 58 and thereby creates a connection to the metal plate 55 of the other, opposite row. By closing this circuit, all the solenoids used for filling are switched off again.
The vent holder 53 has only one group of rows of metal plates. In this water, the same metal plate 55 is also energized when selecting the pressure value. As long as the tire pressure is above this value, the magnetic coil for ventilation is switched on.
If the tire pressure is reduced in the circumferential housing part, the contact ring 58 reaches the area of the current-carrying 3letallplatte 55 and remains in constant contact with the latter even in the event of a further Drtiekabnahmc due to the wide contact rings. the. Metal plate, which means that the magnetic coil for ventilation is stopped immediately.
The second group of rows of metal plates in the filler holder 52 is used. the circuit of a main control lamp 73 on the dashboard.
On the dashboard of the vehicle, a main switch 74 for switching off the device, measuring the tire pressure and automatic switching, two pressure stage holders 75, common for the two rear and front wheels, and four control lamps 76 are provided.
