Description

Rail clamp with head contact screw on a switching device, in particular an installation circuit breaker. The known terminals for installation automatic switches are designed as rail terminals with head contact screws according to FIG. 1 and as socket terminals according to FIG. 2 of the drawing.

The former have the advantage that the conductors can be connected properly; However, these terminals enlarge the Aussenabmessun gene of the switch due to their projection in a considerable way. The advantage of the socket terminals is their low space requirement, but experience has shown that the connection of these terminals is confusing and unfavorable. There is also the risk that the conductor can be pinched by the terminal screw or become brittle.

The aim of the invention is to combine the advantages of the known terminals and to avoid their disadvantages, which is achieved by the fact that the clamping plate outside of its end receiving the fastening screw is guided back towards the switch so that the head contact screw is above the clamping plate fastening screw .

In the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown in FIGS. 3 to 5. Fig. 3 and 4 each show a side view of a circuit breaker. FIG. 5 is a plan view of the circuit breaker according to FIG. 4.

The rail clamping plate c (Fig. 3) is attached to the insulating body d of the circuit breaker by means of the screw a and bent back with its free end in the direction of the switch so that the head contact screw b comes to stand over the fastening screw a.

In Fig. 4 and 5, in addition to the clamping plates bent towards the switch, a protruding clamping plate g is also provided on one side of the switch. The clamping plates on this page are used to connect. Busbars e and f. As can be seen from the drawing, the invention makes it possible to carry out these busbar connections with few resources and with the smallest space requirements.
