<tb> Die <SEP> beiden <SEP> andern <SEP> Ursachen <SEP> (Vor- <SEP> u-n
Injection pump for internal combustion engines. The invention relates to an injection pump for internal combustion engines with. a conveyor element driven with a constant stroke and a cylindrical control slide, also driven with a constant stroke, the control surface of which, seen in the direction of the stroke, can be rotated on the valve axis, at one end by an oblique to the slide axis,
an edge controlling an inlet or suction channel and is delimited at the other end by a second edge, which lies in a plane perpendicular to the slide axis and controls a return flow channel.
Such pumps with slide-controlled inlet and recoil channels generally have a delivery characteristic that rises sharply with increasing speed, that is, the amount effectively delivered per working stroke increases. with increasing speed.
This increase in delivery rate per stroke, which is undesirable in some cases, can be traced back to the following three causes. Firstly, the amount of leakage escaping from the pump working space via the delivery stroke decreases with increasing speed, which leads to a corresponding increase in the volume delivered per stroke and thus in the delivery characteristic .
Secondly, when the inlet channel is closed, throttling phenomena occur, especially where this channel opens into the slide guide surface as a bore with a relatively small circular cross-section, which become more noticeable the faster the pressure stroke takes place, the faster the pump is driven. As a result of these throttling phenomena, the Druckan began rose in the pump chamber at high speed with respect to the position of the delivery member earlier than at low speed.
To a certain extent, there is a pre-delivery that increases with increasing speed, which also results in a certain increase in the delivery characteristic with increasing speed.
Thirdly, similar throttling phenomena also arise with the opening which determines the end of the effective delivery stroke, which leads to a further increase in the delivery characteristic with increasing speed, in that subsequent delivery occurs, the extent of which increases with increasing speed.
The first cause of the increase in the delivery characteristic (leakage) naturally occurs in all pumps in which there is a possibility of leakage.

<tb> The <SEP> two <SEP> other <SEP> causes <SEP> (before <SEP> u-n
<tb> Post-conveying) <SEP> <SEP> can only occur <SEP> with <SEP> pumps <SEP> iriit- * slide-controlled inlet and recoil channels, but not with pure valve pumps. In order to keep the increase in the conveying dividing line caused by the pre-conveying as low as possible, it has already been proposed, in the case of injection pumps whose control spool controls the inlet channel with a control edge running perpendicular to the slide axis, this control edge with one edge of an in the ring groove provided for the slide guide to work together.
In this way it is achieved that until the inlet is closed, a relatively large ring cross-section remains free, which allows the fuel displaced up to that point to flow off almost without restriction even at high speed until the inlet is fully covered. As a result, the increase in the delivery curve caused by the pre-delivery can practically be completely suppressed.
The fact that post-conveying can also occur in the sense described has apparently been neglected so far. According to the invention, the share that the post-delivery has in the rise in the delivery dividing line can be completely suppressed in pumps of the type described at the beginning and, in particular, in injection pumps with pressure valves, even a decrease in the delivery dividing line that compensates for the other causes of the increase in delivery or even predominates with increasing speed,
that the return flow channel can begin in the slide guide as an annular groove-like recess, the edge of which, which cooperates with the associated control edge on the slide, runs parallel to that control edge, so that when the return flow channel starts to open, the pair of control edges in question immediately opens a relatively large return cross-section.
The surprising thing is that not only the previously neglected replenishment and the resultant increase in the conveying dividing line with increasing speed can be suppressed, but that to a certain extent a negative replenishment can even be achieved, which is due to the two other causes (licking and forward funding) related increase in funding. characteristic can even predominate.
This negative replenishment comes about because when a relatively large return cross-section is suddenly opened, more liquid can immediately flow out than the pump delivery element displaces in the further course of its pressure stroke per time segment. As a result, as soon as the top-up occurs, there is a considerable drop in pressure in the pump working space compared to the pressure in the delivery line behind the pressure valve. This, however, is known to open further at high speed, that is to say. its opening stroke is greater than at low speed.
In the case of the sudden drop in pressure in the pump chamber, when the valve opens up a large amount, more liquid can flow back out of the pressure line before the valve closes than with a small opening stroke.
The amount flowing back from the pressure line also increases with increasing speed, because the delivery pressure usually increases with the increase in speed.
The drawing shows a Ausführungsbei game of the subject invention.
Fig. I shows a section through the pump, the piston is drawn in its upper dead position (0T).
Fig. 2 shows the piston in its bottom dead center (UT) and the guide bush for the piston.
In Fig. 3, the piston is drawn in that stroke position in which it controls the return, also, in Fig. 3, a pressure valve arrangement is indicated by dash-dotted lines, which differs from that of FIG.
In a pump housing 1, a cylinder sleeve 2 is inserted into which the delivery member designed as a piston 3 is fitted. On the upper edge of the sleeve sits a valve carrier 4, in which the pressure valve 5 leads ge -and has its seat. Bushing and valve carrier are clamped in the housing by a nipple 6, which at the same time carries the connection thread for the pressure line device D leading to the injection valve indicated at E.
The drive-side piston end is pressed by a return spring 7 against a roller plunger 8, which is constantly driven by the cam 9 of a shaft 10 mounted in the housing 1 with a constant stroke. The piston end on the pump chamber side is designed as a control slide, the jacket 11 of which serves as a control surface at the top through a control edge 12 extending obliquely to the piston axis and at the bottom through an edge 13 of a ring pierced into the piston. 14 is limited.
From the base of the annular groove, radial bores 15 lead to a longitudinal bore 16 in the piston, so that the annular groove is continuously connected to the working chamber 17 of the pump via the bores 15, 16.
The piston itself can be rotated in a known manner in order to change the effective delivery rate by a displaceable control rod 18.
The upper part of the cylinder liner 2 is an annular space 19 recessed from the housing. The fuel supply line, not shown, which is connected to the channel 20 provided in the housing 1, opens into this annular space. From the annular space 7.9 a wall of the cylinder liner goes out transversely through the setting hole 21, which bil det the inlet or suction channel to the pump working space.
In addition, the longitudinal bore of the liner 2, which accommodates the plunger piston, contains an annular groove 22 below the kinlass channel 27, which is connected to the annular space 19 via a bore 23 penetrating the wall of the liner at an angle. The ring groove. 22 and the inclined bore 23 together form the return flow channel.
The inner mouth edge of the inlet bore 21, together with the inclined edge 12 on the piston, forms the pair of edges that control the start of delivery. Depending on the rotational position of the pump piston, the control surface 11 of the piston adjoining the edge 12 covers the inlet channel after a longer or shorter part of the piston pressure stroke, so that pumping begins later or earlier. In the rotary position of the piston shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the suction channel is covered approximately at the earliest possible point in time.
This position results in the highest delivery inconsistency, which is of particular interest in this context, as it is mainly important to influence the delivery characteristic at the set maximum quantity.
The promotion continues until the lower delimiting edge 13 of the control surface 11 changes to that indicated in FIG. Arrives position in which it is at the same level as the lower edge of the annular groove 22 in the sleeve 2 be found. Since the edges of the annular grooves 14 and 22 lie in imaginary planes perpendicular to the piston axis, this always occurs in the same stroke position of the piston, regardless of its rotational position.
In the further course of its pressure stroke, the piston immediately controls a relatively large ring cross-section, through which not only the fuel that continues to be displaced can escape practically no throttling from the pump chamber via the bores 16, 15 in the piston, but also a rapid pressure equalization between the high tensioned fuel in the pump head and the low tensioned fuel in the annular space 19 can fully pull. This prevents the subsequent conveyance mentioned at the beginning. or transformed into the described negative follow-up funding>.
The negative follow-up funding, that is. The backflow of fuel from the pressure line is strongest when the backflow channel is opened at the highest piston speed, because the pressure valve is most open, so the conditions for the backflow are most favorable.
Even when using a so-called equal pressure relief valve, which is known per se, instead of the usual pressure valve shown in FIG. 1, a negative replenishment results. Such an equal pressure relief valve is indicated in FIG. 3. It has a valve body 26 in which two valve balls 26 and 27 are seated. The ball 26 essentially only lets the fuel displaced by the piston over the duration of the cover of the inlet bore 21 and the return flow channel 22, 23 flow out into the pressure line D.
After each opening of the return channel, the ball 27 leads to a relaxation of the fuel contained in the pressure line in the pump chamber to a certain moderate overpressure.
At high speed, the pressure in the pressure line is higher at the moment the backflow channel is opened than at low speed. The spraying out of the nozzle E only stops when the pressure line is relieved of the nozzle closing pressure. Until that point occurs. the pressurized fuel from both the nozzle and the valve ball 27 from the pressure line.
At high pressure in this line, however, the portion flowing back via the valve ball 27 is greater than at low pressure and lower speed because of the possibility of flow without restriction. As a result, the negative replenishment to be increased with increasing speed results here, which leads to the desired decrease in the delivery characteristic. .
