Verbindungseinrichtung an Kabeln.

Connection device on cables. There are cable junction boxes for cable lengths known in which a pressurized fluid is part of the impermeable sheaths of the cable lengths ent, - held dielectric of the cable lengths bil det, which jackets include the cable conductors and their insulation.
The connection device according to the invention on cables is characterized in that the cable connection box has a solid, cylindrical metal tube which closes the connection between the conductors and which is at least partially flexible with the ends of the sheaths of the two cable lengths to form a fluid-covered sheath between the sheaths Organs are firmly connected, and also two solid, fluid threads,
has end sheaths filled with insulating fluid, each of which surrounds one end of the pipe and one of the flexible organs and is attached to the outside of the pipe at one end and to the cable jacket at the other end.
The two cited flexible organs have two parts on the outside of a truncated cone, the end of which with the smaller diameter is attached to a cable jacket and the end of which with the larger diameter is attached to one end of the pipe. In two ways, these organs are made of thin lead and are attached to the sheaths and to the fixed tube, for. B. fastened by means of a lead-in.
The flexible organs can also be made of other materials, e.g. B. made of thin copper sheet, s & n, and other types of connection can be used.
The fixed end sheaths can be attached to flanges at one end, which can themselves be attached to the solid tube at the ends of the tube in a mechanically rigid manner or can form part of the tube. The other ends of the fixed end sleeves can be attached to the cable lengths in any way, for. B. by means of the glasses described in Swiss patent no. <B> 291017 </B>. These end shells are expediently filled as completely as possible with a preferably viscous insulating liquid.
If the fluid under pressure in the cable is a liquid, the insulating liquid for the end sheaths must in any case be one which is more viscous than this liquid. The closure formed by the solid tube and the flexible parts at its ends can put the cable lengths in connection with the inside of the jacket and in these cases contains fluid under an overpressure equal to that of the fluid in the cable.
Since the flexible organs at the ends of the rigid tube separate the insulating fluid in the rigid end sheaths from the fluid in the rigid tube, they work as a membrane and transfer the pressure of the fluid to the insulating fluid, whereby they see according to the change in volume of the rigid ones Bend the insulating liquid contained in the end sleeves. Since this keeps the insulating liquid in the solid envelopes under pressure,
'n which is the same as that of the fluid contained in the cable, this fluid is used as a control means to prevent fluid from escaping from the junction box to the outside. The solid pipe is preferably made of copper and must have a sufficiently large inner diameter to enclose the insulation built up over the connection of the conductors and to create sufficient clearance between the pipe inner wall and the outside of the insulation.
The additional solid end sheaths are preferably brass castings with a hollow conical part, the ends of which have the smaller diameter tubular stubs of sufficiently large inner diameter to fit over the cable sheaths and the reinforcements provided on them, and which have the larger diameter The ends fit over the ends of the solid pipe and are attached to the pipe by means of splatters which are firmly soldered to the pipe and which form a fluid-reversed connection with the end of the fixed end shell
on which these splashing can be attached by means of bolts.
An embodiment of the invention, applied to single-core high voltage cable lengths with steel tape-reinforced Bleiman tel and impregnated paper insulation containing nitrogen under 14 atmospheres, is shown in the drawing in a longitudinal section through one half of the cable connection device.
The connection between the two conductors is made in the usual way by means of a clamping sleeve <B> 1 </B>, with the insulation drawn back from the ends of the two cable lengths by an insulation 2 made of paper and silk tapes has been replaced. A solid copper tube <B> 3 </B> whose inner diameter is greater than that of the insulation 2. unisehl closes the conductor # connection coaxially with the two cable lengths.
The length of the pipe <B> 3 </B> is approximately equal to the distance between the sheath ends of the two cables, and its wall plate is chosen so that the pipe can withstand an internal pressure of 14 atmospheres without armouring.
Since the two ends of the connection box are formed the same, only one is miehnet and described. At the end of the copper tube <B> 3 </B> a flexible, -ysames organ 4 made of thin lead sheet is attached, which has a tubular extension <B> 5 </B> or <B> 6 </ B at both ends > has. The extension <B> 5 </B> fits into the end of the fixed tube <B> 3 </B> and is soldered to this at <B> 7 </B>. The approach <B> 6 </B> fits over the cable jacket <B> 8 </B> to which it is soldered at <B> 9 </B>.
A flat brass ring <B> 10 </B> is provided at the end of the fixed tube <B> 3 </B>, which fits over the tube <B> 3 </B> and is soldered to it, or from one #; tüek with the pipe could exist. The ring <B> 10 </B> forms one end wall of the fixed connection box.
The side wall of the box end part is of an end shell. Formed, which consists of a cast piece and has a hollow cone-shaped part, the end 1.2 of which is of larger diameter against the ring <B> 10 </B> and on this by means of a number of threaded bolts <B> 13 < / B> fluidurnsdiellt is attached.
The end 14 of smaller diameter of this end sheath has a connecting piece <B> 1.5 </B>, the inner wall of which is provided with a thread and the inner diameter of which is larger than the outer diameter of the steel band armoring <B> 16 </B> of the cable. Between the inner wall of this connecting piece <B> 15 </B> and the reinforcement <B> 16 </B> there is a pair of glasses of the type described in Swiss Patent No. 291017 </B>. As described in this application, the two glasses provided at the opposite ends of the connection can have some inaccuracies.
In the present example, the glasses consist of one attached to the jacket <B> 8 </B> and to the armored -, #, <B> 16 </B> with a lead <B> 18 </B> Sleeve <B> 17, </B> a rubber threading ring <B> 19, </B> a pressure ring, - 20 and two lock nuts 21, the jacket ends of both cable lengths are in.
free connection with the interior of the fixed pipe <B> 3 </B> so that the gas contained in one cable length freely passes through the pipe <B> 3 </B> into the jacket space of the other cable length can. If the connection is to be at least partially a line of sight, then the sheath end of one cable length can be closed, e.g. by means of a cover made of silk ribbon strips. In this case, the gas pressure in the fixed pipe the same as that in the other cable length.
At the top, the fixed end shells each have a filling hole closed by a pin 22 and an overflow hole (not shown), the latter also being closed in a liquid-tight manner by a threaded pin.
The overflow hole is located in a position which makes it possible to completely fill the end casing with an insulating liquid, this liquid being poured in through the filling hole 22 and all air released in the end casing being expelled through the overflow hole.
The cable connection box according to the invention can be designed in such a way that it has the advantage over known boxes for fluid-filled cables of simplicity, easier installation, lower costs and smaller space requirements.
