Process for the preparation of a monoazo dye. It has been found that a valuable monoazo dye can be obtained
when diazotized 4-nitro-6-acetylamino-2-amino-1-oxybenzene is combined in an alkaline medium with 4-methyl-2-acetylamino-1-oxybenzene and the dye obtained is combined with the dye of the composition
EMI0001.0016
Treated with chromium-releasing agents in such a way that a chromium-containing dye is produced which contains one molecule of each of the two starting monoazo dyes complexed to one atom of chromium.
The new dye dissolves in water and dyes wool from weakly alkaline, neutral or acetic acid baths in brown tones with excellent fastness properties.
The diazotization of 4-nitro-6-acetylamino-2-amino-1-oxybenzene can be carried out according to conventional methods known per se, e.g. B. with the help of mineral acid, especially hydrochloric acid and Na trium nitrite, are carried out.
The coupling is carried out in an alkaline, for example alkali carbonate or alkali hydroxide alkali agent, advantageously with the addition of sodium 1-naphthalenesulfonate.
When chromating, it is advisable to use a mixture consisting of about one .Hol of the dye thus obtained and about one mole of the dye of diazotized 4-nitro-2-aminophenol and 4-methyl2-acetylamino-l-oxybenzene to use about a gram atom of chromium-containing amount of a chromium-releasing agent and / or to carry out the chromating in a weakly acidic to alkaline medium.
Accordingly, those chromium compounds that are stable in an alkaline medium are particularly well suited for carrying out the method, e.g.
B. Chromium compounds of aliphatic or aromatic o-oxycarboxylic acids, which contain the metal in a complex bond, such as complex chromium compounds of aromatic carboxylic acids of the benzene series and, above all, complex chromium compounds of salicylic acid.
The chromizing is done with advantage in the heat, open or under pressure, z. B. at the boiling point of the reaction mixture, ge where appropriate in the presence of suitable additives to, for. B. in the presence of salts of organic shear acids, bases, organic solvents or other means that promote the complex formation.
Example: 21.1 parts of 4-nitro-6-acetylamino-2-amino-l-oxybenzene are suspended in 50 parts of water and, after the addition of 15 parts of 30% strength hydrochloric acid and ice, at 5 to 10 with 25 parts by volume 4-n -Sodium nitrite solution diazotized in the usual way. Sodium carbonate is added to <RTI until the Congo acid reaction disappears
ID = "0002.0005"> and carries at 5 to 10 in a 19.1 parts of 4-methyl-2-acetylamino-1-oxybenzene, 100 parts of water, 11.9 parts of sodium hydroxide, 10 parts of anhydrous sodium carbonate and 7 Divide 1-naphthalic acid sodium into a mixture obtained.
The whole thing is stirred until the coupling has ended. The resulting dye is, if necessary after addition of sodium chloride, filtered off as the sodium salt and washed with 5% INTatrium chloride solution.
4.10 parts of the sodium salt thus obtained and 3.61 parts of the sodium salt of the dye from diazotized 4-nitro-2-aminophenol and 4-iXethyl-2-acetylamino-1-oxybenzene, both dyes in the form of a moist paste (filter cake), are stirred in 300 parts of water and mixed with 25 parts, a solution of chromsalicylic acid sodium - potassium with a chromium content of 2.6 / o.
After adding 6 parts of sulfonated castor oil, the whole thing is heated to the boil for one hour under reflux. The dye mixture goes into solution.
After the metallization is complete, the complex is completely separated by acidifying with acetic acid, filtered and the filter cake is dissolved in 500 parts of water and 5 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution. The chromium-containing dye is separated from the alkaline solution by adding sodium chloride.
