  <B>Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen</B>     Amino-aryl-pyridyl-alkanole.       Das vorliegende Patent betrifft ein Ver  fahren zur Herstellung eines neuen     Amino-          aryl-pyridyl-alkanols,    welches dadurch ge  kennzeichnet, dass man     1-Dimethylamino-3-          phenyl-3-pyridyl-(2')-hexanon-(4)    mit einem  reduzierenden Mittel behandelt.  



  Das so erhaltene     1-Dimethylamino-3-phenyl-          3-pyridyl-(2')-he-xanol-(4)    ist ein     viskoses    Öl  vom Kp. 106 bis     114     (0,1 mm) und bildet  .ein leicht wasserlösliches Hydrochlorid. Es ist  neu und soll als Heilmittel oder als Zwischen  produkt Verwendung finden.  



  Als reduzierende     Drittel    werden insbeson  dere     Dimetallhydride,    wie ein     AlkaIimetall-          Aluminiumhydrid,    in erster Linie     Lithium-          Aluminiumhydrid,    ferner auch Natrium- oder       Lithiuni-Borhydrid    verwendet.  



  Das verfahrensgemäss erhaltene     Alkanol     kann in üblicher Weise in seine Salze über  geführt werden, wie zum Beispiel durch Um  setzen der freien Base mit den entsprechenden  Säuren in Abwesenheit von Wasser.  



       Beispiel:     15,4 Gewichtsteile     1-Dimethylamino-3-phe-          nyl-3-pyridyl-(2')-hexanon-(4),    gelöst in 100       Volumteilen    absolutem Äther, werden in klei  nen Portionen zu 2,1 Gewichtsteilen     Lithium-          Aluminium-Hydrid,    suspendiert in 300     Vo-          lumteilen    absolutem Äther, unter Rühren zu  gegeben.

   Das Reaktionsgemisch wird nach Ab  klingen der Reaktion zum Schluss 1 Stunde    auf dem     MTa.sserbad    am     R.ückfliiss    erhitzt,  dann mit Wasser zersetzt, die ätherische Lö  sung abgetrennt und die wässerige Lösung  erschöpfend mit Äther extrahiert. Die verei  nigten ätherischen Auszüge trocknet man  über Pottasche, dampft das Lösungsmittel ab       Lind    destilliert den Rückstand     -unter    vermin  dertem Druck.   Das als Ausgangsmaterial verwendete     1-          Dimet        hylamino    -3-     phenyl-3-pyridyl-    (2')     -hexa-          non-(4)    kann durch Umsetzung von     a-Phenyl-          a-pyridyl-    (2)     -y-dimethylamino-buttersäure-ni-          tril    mit     Äthyl-magnesium-bromid    hergestellt  werden.

Das so erhaltene 1-Dimethylamino-3-phenyl- 3-pyridyl-(2)-hexanol-(4) ist ein viskoses Öl vom gp. 106 bis 114 (0,1 mm) und bildet ein leicht wasserlösliches Hydrochlorid. Es ist neu und soll als Heilmittel oder als Zwischen produkt Verwendung finden.
