Flush device, especially for water closets. The subject of the invention is a device for flushing water, in particular for a water closet, comprising a tank which is empty when the device is not in operation and the drain opening of which is intended to be closed when used. by a tilting vertical tube controlled by a piece forming a counterweight, which also controls the water inlet valve in the tank, the tilting of the vertical tube and, consequently, the opening of the drain opening taking place under the action of a float when the tank is filled, apparatus characterized in that the part forming the counterweight is a slide member mounted, integrally.
with a control lever of the hunting device, on a pivot carried by the water inlet valve, which is brought into the open position by means of a roller carried by said sliding piece and capable of coming into contact with a projecting end of the. valve valve.
In addition, according to a preferred embodiment, the action of the float on the bottom tube culant takes place by means of a detent lever engaging a projection of said. tube, which runs during tilting of the latter a curved guide surface (35) extending said lever towards its free end. Finally, the water inlet valve delivers into the flushing tank via a dip tube to near the bottom of the latter. The drawing appended to this memorandum represents, to. by way of example, an embodiment of a cistern according to. invention.
In this drawing, Fig. 1 is an elevational view of the apparatus, in the normal non-use or open position.
Fig. is a corresponding view, the appliance being in the closed position.
Fig. 3 is a plan view corresponding to FIG. 2.
Fig. 4- is an axial section, on a larger scale, of the pressurized water inlet valve.
Fig. 5 is an interior view of the closure member of the valve.
In the embodiment shown in the drawing, the cistern 1 has in the thickness of its lower wall a circular groove 1 'pierced with a central hole, which sees a nozzle 2, to which is connected in a sealed manner the usual flush piping. The nozzle 2 has, inside the tank 1, an ear 3 housed in a lateral extension 1 "of the groove 1 '; the latter, in addition to keeping the nozzle 2 in place, allows the tank to be completely emptied. 1.
The lug 3 of the nozzle 2 is crossed by a pin 4, serving as a hinge for a crown 5 surmounted by a tube 6, preferably made of brass, in order to ensure its inoxidability. This tube 6 has towards its top a tab 8 terminated by a sleeve 9 through which a horizontal axis 10 blocked by a screw 11 passes: this axis is off-center to the right relative to the vertical plane. passing through the axis 4 of the nozzle 2, in order to facilitate the downward tilting of the tube 6.
The pin 10 is able to slide in a groove 1.2 drilled in two parallel arms 13, inelined towards the tube 6 and pivotally mounted around 7 studs 14 carried by the closure member of the supply pipe. pressurized water. These arms 13 are braced at this point by a cross member 15, to which is fixed a lever 16, of suitable curvature, to the free end of which is attached a traction chain 17, on which is pulled to operate the machine. hunt.
Between the axis 10 and the cross member 15, the arms 13 are braced by a journal 18 integral with a central roller 19.
The closure member is constituted in the present case by a tubular body 20 (FIGS. 4 and 5) having a threaded portion passing through. the wall of the tank 1, against which it is. held by a nut 21. A connector 22 is screwed onto this threaded part provided with a pipe 23, which is connected to a pressurized water supply pipe.
The body 20 is traversed with an appropriate clearance by a rod 24 which, beyond a packing 25, carries inside the reservoir 1 a conical head 26 disposed in the field of action of the roller 19. On the side opposite to this head, the rod 24 ends inside the threaded part of the body 20 by a disc 27 forming a valve and normally applied against the seat 28 by the water pressure, with the interposition of a gasket. elastic 29. This disc 27 has, on its circumference, passages 30 shown especially in FIG. 5.
From the internal chamber of the body 20 starts a tube 31, which plunges inside the reservoir 1 and is provided with. near the bottom of the latter, a strainer 32. Finally, to the body 20 is fixed a finger 33, the role of which will be indicated below.
On the other hand, towards its upper end, the tube 6 has a finger 34 (FIG. 3) under which is applied a cam-shaped arm 35 of a lever 36 pivoting at 37 on a bracket 38 fixed in such a manner. adjustable in a groove 39 drilled in the rear wall of the tank see 1. This lever 36 door, to. its end opposite to the arm 35, a float 40 mounted also in an adjustable manner and under the weight of which the arm 35 is. applied against the finger 34. At the rear of the arm 35, the lever forms a stopper 41.
In the usual rest position of the hunting mechanism, the tube 6 occupies the tilted position shown in FIG. 1; the pebble 19 drank so much against the finger. 33 limits this tilting; finger. 34 of the tube 6 occupies a limit position at the end of the arm 35. The tank 1 is completely empty and the valve 27 is closed by the water pressure of the supply pipe.
If we now exert a traction on the chain 17, the arms 13 will straighten out by pivoting around the axis 14 and, consequently, the roller 19 carried by the arms 13 will come into contact with the conical head 26 of the valve stem 24 and will return it to the body 20, so that the valve 27 will necessarily abandon its seat 28, which will allow the water to pass through the passages 30, to pour the body 20 and to flow through the tube 31. to fill the reservoir 1. This filling takes place very quickly, the water being discharged over a large section by the body 20, for which the tube 31 serves. also. silent.
1-But, at the same time that the arms 13 are raised, they drive the axis 1.0 integral with the tube 6, so that it is forced to stand up by pivoting around its axis 4. Finally, the tube 6 comes. occupy the vertical position shown in fig. 2, in which its crown 5 completely closes. the nozzle 2. At this moment, the finger 34, having traveled through the cam 35, has hooked the stopper 41 of the lever 36, so that the tube 6 r is locked in its closed position by the weight of the float 40.
The water continuing to flow into the tank see 1, at a given moment it lifts the float 40, by causing its lever 36 to pivot around its axis 37; as a result, the cam 35 is lowered and allows the release of the finger I34 from the stopper 41, and, under the weight of the arms 13, the tilting of the tube 6. The drain nozzle is thus uncovered and allows the evacuation of the mass of water stored in the tank 1 through the flush pipe. The parts of the flushing mechanism are finally found in the position shown in FIG. 2.
In order to allow the fitting of the closure member on the left, as well as on the right, according to local requirements, a hole 41 is provided in the left wall of the reservoir 1 which can also receive the. intake valve; this hole is. in the present case closed by an elastic stopper 42. Similarly, the tube 6 has a second finger 34 '(FIG. 3) opposite the finger 34, while a second groove 39' symmetrical to the groove 39 is provided in the rear wall of the tank 1.
