Attachment device for securing a wristwatch, compass or other instrument to the wrist of the arm . The object of the invention is a device for securing a wristwatch, a counter, a compass or other instrument to the wrist of the arm.
This device comprises two arched bracelet branches, removably connected to the case of said instrument and shaped so that they can be engaged on the wrist and remain there in avoiding compression of the wrist, at least one of said branches being connected to the case by an articulation, so that the bracelet branches can be separated from one another.
According to the invention, the device is characterized in that at least one of said arched bracelet branches is formed by two adjacent curved metal blades including a rigid outer blade and a flexible inner blade springing, these blades being fixed. one to the other at their free end and connected, one, the inner blade, by a hinge, to a flange articulated on a bar of the housing, and the other, the outer blade, to said flange by another hinge,
the axis of this last hinge constituting a U -shaped stopping bracket, the ends of which spring out and rest on the housing, to limit the opening angle of the branch of bracelet.
This device is established so that the bent inner wool is bandaged when the rigid outer lsmo is removed, ensures the latter in this position and serves as a return spring.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention, the two bracelet branches of which are constructed identically, one of the branches being however provided with locking means.
Fig. 1 is an elevation view thereof.
Fig. 2 is a plan projection of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 shows a partial section on a larger scale, taken along line III-III of FIG. 2.
Fig. 4 shows, in section, an adjustable assembly of the free ends of the two bent metal cores.
In the example shown, the case 5 of a wristwatch has two handles 6 each formed of two case lugs and a bar 7 connecting the two lugs.
To each of these bars is attached and articulated a flange 8 forming the attachment member of one of the arched bracelet branches of the device.
These arched branches are each formed by two adjacent curved metal blades, of which a rigid outer blade 9 and a flexible inner blade 10 springing out. These blades are fixed to each other, at their free end, by repiiage 12.
However, they could be fixed to each other by an adjustable assembly, as shown in tig. 4 and. comprising a clamping screw 13 screwed into the blade 10 -and the rod of which passes through an elongated opening 14 of the blade 9, an arrangement which allows an adjustment to suit the size of the wrist.
Blade 10 is. connected and articulated to the flange 8 by a hinge 15, while the rigid blade 9 is connected -to the same -bridled by a hinge 1.6, one element of which is welded to said flange. The axis (pin) 17 of this hinge constitutes a U-shaped stop bracket, its ends springing. and extending between the horns 6 bearing on the housing.
To subjugate the. watch on the wrist, respectively to remove it, the two branches of the bracelet are moved apart from one another, by opening either one or both branches, as shown in phantom in fig. I. The blade 10 is then strongly bandaged and brought into a position where it keeps the rigid wool 9 apart, which position is. determined by the stopper 17. When the bracelet branches are closed, the blade 10 acts as a spring (the return by relaxing.
With blade 9 being rigid and blade 10 stretched, the bracelet branches do not exert any compression on the wrist when they are closed.
To prevent the inadvertent or inadvertent opening of the bracelet branches, at least one of the latter could be provided with locking means, although the action of the blade 10 is sufficient to ensure the closure.
This locking could be achieved by any suitable means - or mechanical elements, for example using a key screw; a locking lever, a clasp etc.
The drawing shows, by way of example, a key locking adapted to one of the branches and comprising a flat spring 18 fixed at 19 to the external face of the flange 8 and carrying at its other end a worm key. rusting 20 with oblong head. This key is pi voted in the flat etsa resmort. head can be passed through a corresponding buttonhole 21 made in the rigid blade 9.
After having put your head in the. buttonhole 20, the key is. rotated by 90, so that the head is disposed transversely with respect to it. buttonhole and thus prevent the blades 9 and 10 from moving away from each other.
