<tb> eine <SEP> Batterie <SEP> vorteilhaft <SEP> zum <SEP> Beispiel <SEP> zwölf
<tb> Zellen <SEP> riinfassen <SEP> kann. <SEP> Zur <SEP> besseren <SEP> Erläute rung <SEP> der <SEP> Erfindung <SEP> sind <SEP> die <SEP> beiden <SEP> Zellrei hen <SEP> 1mid <SEP> ? <SEP> in <SEP> zwei <SEP> versehiedenen <SEP> Zeitpunk ten <SEP> des <SEP> Gefriervorganges <SEP> gezeigt.
<SEP> In <SEP> Wirklieh keit <SEP> ist <SEP> es <SEP> zweekniässig, <SEP> alle <SEP> Zellen <SEP> der <SEP> glei ehen <SEP> Batterie <SEP> den <SEP> Gefriervorgang <SEP> gleiehzeitig
<tb> ilttrehlaul'c,n <SEP> zii <SEP> lassen.

<SEP> In <SEP> Reality <SEP>, <SEP> it <SEP> is double, <SEP> all <SEP> cells <SEP> of <SEP> are the same as <SEP> battery <SEP> to <SEP> Freezing process <SEP> at the same time
<tb> ilttrehlaul'c, n <SEP> zii <SEP> leave. At each cell a sehwenkbaren floor 4 is on a horizontal hinge 3 is arranged.
This is provided with a ('fine-weighted'), which allows it to be lifted or held in the closed position. All cells of a battery are built into a housing, which acts as an evaporator in the circuit of a cooling system and is covered for two weeks by an insulating layer is.
The supply line for the liquefied coolant is located in the lower part of the inlet screen and is. by the pipe 7 at # g-indicated. The derivation R is provided in the upper part. In normal operations, the evaporated coolant is sucked off through line 8 from a compress #.
In the case of the - #, btative process, on the other hand, the warm, condensed coolant is let into the evaporator 6 from the outlet of the compressor dui-eli, the line l #, and warms it up, so that it can then flow out again through the conduit <, - i.
The cells are fed with water at the container 9. These can, for example, be dimensioned in such a way that they contain more than the amount of water required by the cell, or they can be provided with level regulators that only allow the water to flow as far as is sufficient for one cell filling. Each cell has a connecting piece 11 on its removable top 10.
This is connected by means of a rubber sleeve 12 to the outflow line 13 of the water aerator, in which a valve or flap 14 is located. In a cell, for example in one of the "cells", there is a thermostat 15 which controls an electrical holding mechanism. The thermostat is arranged approximately in the center axis of the cell a little below the level up to which the ice block rises through expansion.
The salts dissolved in the water collect here during freezing, so that at this point the freezing point of the water is progressively lowered and you can see a water-filled, trapezoidal cavity in the resulting ice block, into which the thermostat dips. If the temperature has dropped to a predetermined value here, for example -1 C, the thermostat actuates a switchover valve 22 which is provided in the coolant line.
During the freezing process, this valve connects the line 8 with the suction line of the compressor. But if the thermostat reverses the valve 22, the pressure line of the compressor with the device 8 Lei is connected. At the same time, the line 7, through which the cold, liquefied coolant flows into the evaporator during normal operation, is switched off by the condenser and connected to a collecting vessel.
In the factory, several batteries are conveniently connected to the same coolant circuit, and their operating phases are offset from one another in such a way that the compressor is fed with evaporated coolant from at least one battery, which it sends to the evaporator of another battery for defrosting .
On the outside of the battery, a stop element 16 is provided against which the counter weight 5 strikes when the bottom 4 is pushed open (cell 1). This switch is also in a control circuit for actuation of the switching valve 22 and is intended to return the valve 22 to its normal position in which the evaporation of the coolant iiii evaporator 6 takes place.
Another thermostat. 17 is attached in the immediate vicinity of the bottom of the cell. This thermostat controls. by means of a controller 33, the water line valves 14 in such a way that these after restarting the freezing process. the defrosting by the Temperaturerniedrigiin- in the vicinity of the thermostat 17 are opened. The valves 14 are automatically closed by a device not illustrated, for example operated by a float, as soon as the water level in the cells has reached the required level.
Slides 1 are provided below the battery, which catch the blocks of ice falling out of the cells and guide them onto the tables 19, where they run against a spring against the stop 20. In the chutes 18 resilient flaps 21 can be provided which are pushed back by the ice block as it passes into corresponding recesses of the chute and brake its fall.
The system described works as follows. At the beginning of the work, the floors are in contact with the lower part of the cells due to the counterweight. As soon as the coolant is let in and allowed to evaporate, the floors freeze to the cells, be it that there is still moisture on them or that the first part of the flowing in as a result of the thermostat's response The cells are filled with water to a height which is about a tenth less than the height finally reached by the ice block.
The amount of water required for this is prepared in the container 9 assigned to each cell. and, as soon as this amount has flowed into the cells, the valves 1.4 are closed again. Subsequently, another automatic Steue tion can set the refilling of the container 9 in motion, which in turn is turned off in a known manner as the, z. B. by means of a float valve as soon as the desired level is reached.
When the block is frozen through and the temperature in the water funnel in the upper part of the block falls to the temperature at which the thermostat 15 is set. is, it comes into action and controls. the switchover valve 22 switches over, whereby the freezing process is interrupted. In this Unisehaltstellung warm coolant is now introduced from the compressor through line 8 into the evaporator chamber and the liquid coolant still present in the latter is diverted through the line 7 into the collecting vessel.
The evaporator is warmed up and the ice block is defrosted, so that after a short time it detaches itself from the cell walls and the floor and breaks open the floor due to its own weight (see cell 1). The block falls onto the slide 18 and remains at the stop 20. When swinging up, the counterweight 5 has actuated the switch 16, whereby the defrosting process is interrupted and a new freezing process is initialised. The floor, which swung back into its closed position immediately after the ice block had passed, freezes again on the cell, the thermostat 17 comes into operation again, and a new work cycle begins.
The automatic switchgear described above can be used for individual cells as well as for whole batteries. In battery operation, it will generally suffice to arrange only one thermostat 15, one thermostat 1.7 and one switch 1.6 for a whole battery, the actuation of which affects all cells of the battery.
Many changes can be made to the embodiment described as an example within the scope of the invention. For example, the counterweight 5 can be replaced by a spring. In this case, a special stop is to be provided on the floor 4 for actuating the switch 16. For certain processes, a timer can also take the place of the thermostatic control, for example for closing the valves or flaps in the water supply line, since under constant pressure conditions the flow of the same amount of water always requires the same time. The end of the defrosting process could also be done by time switches.
Basically, an ice system, the ice cell of which is provided with pivoting floors, allows fully automatic actuation by various kinds of control elements, since the ice blocks leave the cells by their own weight and release the floors immediately after falling out, so that the system starts up again immediately can. The invention is therefore as far as the with ice cells with. systems equipped with pivotable floors are designed to be fully automatic at all, not limited to the selection of certain thermostatic, time-dependent or other control elements.
