I.a fig.
Device for the use of the driving force of the wind. The present invention relates to a positive device for the use of the driving force of the wind.
The drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, four embodiments of the device silencing the key subject of the invention.
I.a fig. 1 shows, in elevation, a first embodiment of which the wire. 2 is a fine view in right section following line 1-1 (la fi. 1.
Fig. 3 shows, in cross-section with respect to its axis, a second form (the execution of the device.
Bed fig. 4 shows, in perspective, a third embodiment.
lia fig. 5 shows, in cross section with respect to its median axis, a fourth embodiment of the device.
Fig. 6 shows the transmission mechanism for key movements (the rotation of the individual shafts in fig. 5 to the common shaft. The same numbers everywhere denote similar parts.
1 c1és1glle a vertical hollow shaft, on which are fixed two parallel plates 2 and 3, serving (the end connections to blades 4 to! L, parallel, to the shaft 1 and linked to each other on a part of their periphery.
The straight section (these blades include an arcuate part (the circle, 4 'to 9', whose center of curvature is at 4 "to 9", and ending on the outside with a arc of circle -13 èï 93, the center of curvature of which is on the key axis of shaft 1, and extends in such a way that the entry of the blade is offset on the side opposite to the direction of rotation of the device, which is in this case opposite to that of clockwise rotation.
In fig. 1. and. 2, 4 "to 9" also denote the axes of vertical shafts such as 10, 11, 12 and 1.3, on which are mounted cambered flaps 14 to 1.9, and provided at their end external to the plate 3 with toothed wheels 20 to 25 connected by a peripheral chain 26.
On an extension, towards the bottom of fig. 1 of tree 10 est. mounted a toothed wheel 27 on the periphery of which engages a toothed chain 28, one end of which is fixed to a spring 29 fixed, on the other hand, to the shaft 1., and the other end of which is fixed to a metal cable 30 passing over a pulley 31 mounted inside said shaft and fixed, on the other hand, to a pin 32, fixed by its ends to the edges of a part 33 which can slide along the shaft hollow 1. This peg goes through the walls of this. shaft in holes, such as 34, elongated in the direction of the axis of shaft 1.
The part 33 has a peripheral groove 35 in which is engaged one of the ends of a lever 36 pivoted at 37 and provided with notches 38 to 40. A weight 41, movable from one to the other of these notches, is suspended in the notch 39.
3 the base of the part 33 are mounted rotatably at the ends of the same diameter two arms 4 \ L and 43 whose other end is crossed by the axis 44, 45 respectively, of two balls 46 and 47 of metal can. move radially in a slide 48, respectively 49, fixed to a sleeve 50 which is integral with the shaft 1. Here is how. the device described and shown in figs. 1 and 2: The will rushing into the openings of the blades 4 to 9 causes the motor member or rotor 2, 3 to rotate in the opposite direction to. that of clockwise, whatever its direction.
The motor organ turns faster and faster, and the balls 46 and 47 tend, as a result of the centrifugal force, to move away radically from the shaft 1. But they are stopped by the action of the lever 26 on the part 33 and by the spring 29 which acts. in the same direction on part 33.
4 starting from a certain speed that we set in advance, the. centrifugal force exerted by the balls 46 and 47 away from the shaft 1 and lowered. piece 33 along shaft 1 and, with it, dowel 32, to. which one is. fixed the cable 30. The latter pulls the chain 28 which turns the toothed wheel 27 clockwise, overcoming the resistance of the spring 29 to the traction exerted on it by the chain 28. Because of this of this rotation of the wheel 27, all the flaps 14 and 19 rotate in the same direction inside the blades, which makes it possible to vary the. position of the flaps relative to the vanes.
The action which has just been described is adjusted mainly by moving the weight 41. along the lever 36, but also by the choice of the spring 29. In the. fig. 3, the motor member or rotor, of which. blades are designated 4-9, is. surrounded by two fixed crowns 51 superposed carrying double curvature blades 52 to 56. These blades could be made to move around trees such as 57 shown in dotted line on the blade 56.
Fig. 4 shows, in perspective, two motor members 2, 3 mounted on the same shaft 1. FIG. 5 shows four motor members 3 each mounted on a shaft 1 and so as to work on a common shaft 62 (fig. 6), whatever the direction II, III, IV or V of the wind , and intended for propelling a boat (not shown).
This device comprises parts 63 and 64 provided with elongated holes 65 and 66 parallel to the axis 62; these parts are profiled to guide the blowing air. in the general directions II respectively III towards the blades of the driving members, and are mounted on supports not shown provided with guide pins engaged in the holes 65 and 64. When the wind. breath in direction IV, a part 67, having a 6 o'clock long hole, occupies the position indicated in solid lines. She can. be moved manually. on mid support. not shown having a guide pin engaged in the hole 68.
When the wind blows in the V direction, said part occupies the position shown in dotted lines at 69.
Fig. 6 represents how the driving organs of the fi-. 5 act on the common shaft 62. Toothed wheels 70 and 71, mounted on said. common shaft 62 and meshing with tangential screws 72 and 73, 74 and respectively. 75 mounted on the shafts 1 of the driving members 1, provide. the connection of said shafts together.
