Process for the production of guilloché patterns as substrates, frame drawings, etc. for securities, diplomas, posters, labels or the like, as well as equipment for carrying out the process. In order to make the forgery of securities, in particular banknotes, more difficult, these papers in most cases have what is known as a guilloche pattern as a background, which usually consists of a single or multi-colored drawing with fine, intertwined lines. Such drawings are also often used for the borders of securities.
So far, such guilloches were ent neither by hand or with the help of mechanically working drawing devices in relatively laborious and, above all, time-consuming Ar work, which resulted in a very high price of the Chüllochierungen.
The present invention aims to simplify the production of guilloche patterns without reducing the difficulties of forgery. The invention relates to a method for the production of guilloche patterns as Untergmünde, frame drawings, etc. for securities, diplomas, posters, labels or the like, and a device for practicing the method.
The method according to the invention consists in that a basic motif is reproduced several times at the same time by photographic means in such a way that the reproductions are created in the desired size and arrangement on a light-sensitive layer and in their entirety form the guilloche pattern.
The device for exercising the process is characterized by a holder for a basic motif having a position before, through a cassette for receiving a light-sensitive layer wear the base and dureh a carrier arranged between the holder and the cassette with a plurality of lenses Depiction of the basic motif on the light-sensitive layer in the size and arrangement required to achieve the desired guilloché pattern.
An example embodiment of the device is shown schematically in the attached drawing in side view and partially in axial longitudinal section.
On a frame 1 in the form of a table, three support rings 2, 3 and 4 standing in vertical planes are attached at intervals from one another. In the support rings 2 and 3, a hollow cylinder 5 is longitudinally displaceable ge superimposed, at one end of a cassette 6 for receiving a layer provided with a photosensitive union 7 is detachably arranged .. The cassette 6 is rotatable about the longitudinal center axis of the device, and the Photographic base 7, which can be a plate or a film, is displaceable in its plane with respect to the central longitudinal axis of the device with the aid of means not shown in detail, preferably in two mutually perpendicular directions.
Between the support rings 3 and 4 a hollow cylinder 5 partially concentric surrounding tube is attached. On the support ring 4, which is on the side of the hollow cylinder 5 facing away from the cassette 6, there is a holder 9 for a transparent template 10, on which the basic motif for the engraving to be produced is recorded. A can 11th is. mounted in the interior of the hollow cylinder 5 in a longitudinally displaceable manner and has a diaphragm 12 which is provided with a plurality of openings 13 on the end face facing the cassette 6.
These openings 13 have a diameter that is at most 1j100 of the distance between the photographic base 7 and the aperture 12, where each of these openings 13 acts as a photographic lens that reproduces the basic motif on the original 10 on the photosensitive layer. the base 7 is generated. In practice, there are at least 1,000 such openings 13 on the panel 12, which is designed as a kind of grid. The openings 13 can be arranged in equal distances from each other and in straight lines or circles, etc. is arranged.
However, the openings can also be arranged according to a certain rule at uneven distances from one another. The diaphragm 1.2 is expediently fastened to the bush 11 in an exchangeable manner, so that, from case to case, a diaphragm with the desired distribution and arrangement of the openings 1.3 can be used in the device. On the sleeve 11 a radially outwardly protruding Actuate supply handle 14 is present, which protrudes through a slot of the hollow cylinder 5 and by actuating the distance between the aperture 12 and the photographic support 7 can be changed.
By moving the hollow cylinder 5 in its longitudinal direction, the distance between the diaphragm 12 and the template 10 can also be changed. Zweekrriässigerweise the holder 9 for the template 10 is rotatable about the central optical axis of the device and also displaceable with respect to this axis, preferably in two directions at right angles to one another Rich. The resources required for this, as known per se, are not shown in the drawing. On the side of the template 10 facing away from the cassette 6, a housing 15 with an electric light source 16 is arranged for illuminating the template 10.
The method for producing guilloche patterns is carried out with the aid of the device described as follows: The basic motif illuminated by the light source 16 is applied as many times on the light-sensitive layer, the base 7, by means of the openings 13 in the diaphragm 1.2 acting as photographic lenses pictured, as openings 13 are present, provided that all images really fall within the surface of the pad 7.
The size of the individual reproductions of the basic motifs, which in practically all cases are always smaller than the basic motif itself, is given by the distance between the screen 12 and the base 7, but the arrangement of the reproductions against each other is determined by the arrangement of the openings 13 in the aperture 12. The relationships can be made in such a way that the illustrations of the basic motif line up without gaps or that they partially overlap each other. In the latter case, depending on the type and extent of the overlapping, the most varied of guilloché patterns can be achieved with one and the same basic motif.
If the plane of the diaphragm 1.2 is exactly parallel to the light-sensitive layer, the use of a uniform diaphragm results in a uniform circumference, the size of the individual reproductions of the basic motif remaining constant.
Stands. the aperture 12 however obliquely to the plane of the photosensitive layer, which is possible with a suitable design of the device, the distance between individual photographic lenses and the other changes in a regular manner, which also increases the image size of the individual reproductions of the basic motif the guilloché changes.
This then results in a guilloche pattern which is non-uniform according to a certain regularity. Quite uneven and irregular guilloche patterns can be achieved by inserting a film carrying the light-sensitive layer into the cassette 6 in a wave-like manner, for which purpose the cassette can be specially designed. A guillotine created in this way shows a constantly changing picture that is extremely difficult to imitate.
Since the holder 9 for the template with. The basic motif can be rotated around the central optical axis of the device, a whole series of different guilloche patterns can be produced with a single basic motif, in which one can hardly tell that they contain the same basic motif, because when the original is rotated in relation to the aperture 12 there are other disagreements in the reproductions and thus completely new drawings of the guilloche lines.
The basic motif itself can be any, for example any geometric figure, lettering, coat of arms, a trademark or a halftone image, etc., as well as any combination thereof.
The built-in light source 16 has the advantage of constant light conditions in the \ reproduction, with the parts 7 and 8 of the radiation; between the original 10 and the cassette 6 is shielded from external light.
After developing the image, a printable cliclie or film can be produced from the exposed photographic base 7 1 to 3 in a known manner, which can be used to create backgrounds or for the production of frame drawings on securities, diplomas, posters, labels, advertising slides etc. can be formed. Of course, several different colored prints of different guilloches can be printed one on top of the other.
Instead of a diaphragm 12 provided with openings 13, there could also be a carrier for other photographic lenses which can be manufactured in sufficient numbers and small units and arranged on the carrier. Single lens lenses could e.g. B. can be produced coherently by pressing synthetic glass in one area.
