Differentialschutzeinrichtung.
Fehlstromes Ja in Abhängigkeit vom Durchgangsstrom JL aufgetragen.
Differential protection device. It is known to protect electrical machines, apparatus and cables against internal Feh ler with the help of differential protection. This is based on the comparison of the current (the currents) that flows into the contactor with the current (the currents) that flows out of the protégé. In error-free operation, these currents are in a certain constant ratio, for example they are the same in a generator. These currents are monitored with the help of current transformers. If a fault occurs in the protégé, the ratio of the currents changes and a current flows through the relay.
With these known differential protection devices, however, the inconvenience arises that the relay can also respond if a fault is outside the protection range of the differential protection device. In the case of a regulating transformer, this incorrect response can be due to the fact that the transformers of the differential protection are not changed in terms of their transmission ratio when the transformation ratio of the regulating transformer is changed, but rather, as is common practice, to a mean transformation ratio stay set.
You can set the differential relay so that the differential current flowing through the relay in healthy operation does not cause it to respond. If, however, an external short circuit occurs, the current can become so large that the relay responds.
Another major cause of the incorrect response is the inequality of the converter characteristics. If the converters were to translate linearly for all currents or if they would always have the same characteristics if the linear translation were to deviate, no differential current would occur in the fault-free state of the protégé. In practice, however, when the converters come into the saturation area, there are differences in the translation, due to differences in the burden for the same converters or because the converters are saturated at different currents when the same burden is present.
As a result, in the event of a large short-circuit, which is caused by a fault outside the protégé, large differential currents can occur which cause the relay to respond.
In order to avoid this inconvenience, it is known to use a so-called percentage relay, that is to say a relay in which the differential current acts in the triggering sense, whereas the through current acts in the blocking sense. This gives the protection a response characteristic (differential current at which the relay responds, depending on the through current), at which the level of the differential current required for the relay to respond increases with increasing through current, i.e. the sensitivity of the differential protection device decreases.
This percentage relay can be used well to avoid incorrect response of the differential protection in regulating transformers. On the other hand, in order to avoid the difference in the transformer characteristics on the response of the relay, the response characteristic of the protection has to be set very steeply, where the sensitivity of the protection suffers in the event of internal faults.
The invention relates to a differential protection device which avoids this difficulty. According to the inven tion, the differential current and the through current are rectified and brought into effect on the relay in the opposite direction, and a direct current source is provided which counteracts the flow of the through current through the relay. For this purpose, for example, a voltage can be inserted into the connecting line between the rectifier arrangement, which rectifies the through current, and the relay.
which counteracts the flow of the rectified through current through the relay, and in series with this voltage switch on a valve which prevents a current resulting from this voltage from closing through the relay. You can also, for example, lead an auxiliary current from the auxiliary voltage source via the rectifier, which rectifies the through current. This ensures that the response sensitivity of the protection remains constant from zero through current up to a certain value of the through current, but the sensitivity of the protection decreases from a certain level of the through current.
It is advisable to dimension it in such a way that the a balanced total current only has an impact on the sensitivity of the protection at a through current which is equal to s one to two times the nominal current. The rating depends on which through-current can still be expected when a fault occurs in the protégé. The response characteristic remains constant, for example, up to a through current that is equal to 1.5 times the rated current and then increases.
This prevents the relay from responding incorrectly, caused by transformer errors, without the need to reduce the sensitivity of the protection in the event of internal errors.
In the drawing, two execution examples of the invention are shown for a three-phase system.
In Figure 1, 1 is the protégé, for example a regulating transformer, be distinguished. The three current transformers on the input side have the reference number 2, the three current transformers on the output side have the reference number 3. The secondary sides of the two current transformer groups are connected one behind the other. The difference between the currents in converters 2 and 3, i.e. the differential current or fault current, is recorded by converter group 1. The currents of the converters .I are rectified via a rectifier arrangement 7.
There are four groups of rectifiers provided in order not only to rectify the phase currents, but also to rectify any zero current that may occur. The coil 9 of a relay, for example the coil of a moving coil relay, is located parallel to the direct current side of the rectifier arrangement 7. It is also seen a rectifier assembly 8, which is fed by the through current ge. The current supplied by the rectifier arrangement 8 acts on the relay coil 9 in the opposite sense as the current supplied by the rectifier group 7.
In the exemplary embodiment, two current transformer groups 5 and 6 are provided to form the through current. The secondary sides of the converters are connected in parallel in each phase. In this case, the through current is not recorded by a single Z converter group, but the sum of the incoming and outgoing currents is formed, which is advantageous if. the converter groups 2 and 3 differ greatly in their characteristics.
As already mentioned, the through current or the sum of the input and output currents is rectified by the rectifier group 8 and acts in the opposite sense as the current of the rectifier group 7 on the relay coil 9. In the connecting line between the rectifier arrangement 8 and the relay coil 9 there is a resistor 11, via which a DC voltage source, only represented by a plus and minus sign, sends an auxiliary current via a resistor 14 and thereby generates a DC voltage at the resistor 11 the flow of the rectified through current over d:
e relay coil 9 or the converter group 7 counteracts this. In series with this counter-voltage or the resistor 11 is a valve 12 which is switched so that the voltage at the resistor 11 cannot drive any current through the relay coil 9. A resistor 10 is located parallel to the direct current side of the rectifier arrangement 8, in the place of which parallel resistors can also be provided on the alternating current side of the rectifier arrangement 8.
As long as the voltage caused by the through current at the resistor 10 is smaller than the sum of the voltage at the resistor 11 and the voltage in the winding 9, the through current has no influence on the size of the differential current required to respond to the relay. The differential current required to respond to the relay remains constant up to this value.
But if the voltage at the resistor 10 exceeds the sum of the voltages at the resistor 11 and the winding 9, the through current acts to reduce the sensitivity of the protection, that is, an increase in the differential current required to respond, so that from this value from the response characteristic of the protection increases (break point in the characteristic). The influence of the through current depends on the size of the resistors 10 and 11 and on the size of the flow resistance of the valve 12, for example a dry rectifier.
As already mentioned, the counter voltage at the resistor 11 will be selected so that the kink in the characteristic is at a through current that is approximately 1.5 times the nominal current, i.e. from here onwards the differential current required for response increases. The inclination of the response characteristic to the right of the inflection point can be changed by changing the size of the resistors 10 or 11 or the resistance of the valve 12.
In order to achieve with regulating transformers that the response characteristic also rises slightly in the range below 1.5 times the rated current, albeit less steeply than from a through current equal to 1.5 times the rated current, a resistor 13 is also provided in the exemplary embodiment provided, the par allel to the series circuit of the counter stand 11 and the valve 12 is connected.
In Fig. 2, the size of the required to speak to differential current or fault current Yes is plotted as a function of the through current JL. You can see that the current Ja initially remains constant with increasing through-current, and then rises steeply at a through-current equal to 1.5 times the nominal current, whereby, as mentioned, the steepness of the characteristic can be adjusted by selecting the sizes of the resistances .
If the resistance was 13 present, a characteristic is achieved which is shown in dashed lines in FIG. 2, in which the current Ja also rises below half the 1.5 times the rated current and the slope changes when the through current is equal to 1.5 times the nominal current.
As already mentioned, an auxiliary current can also be introduced instead of an auxiliary voltage, via the rectifier arrangement B. As long as the rectified through current is less than this auxiliary current, it does not affect the response characteristic until the through current exceeds the auxiliary current predominates, the differential current required for the relay to respond is greater. It is useful to bridge the DC terminals of the rectifier assembly 8 by a resistor and to connect the relay coil to a tap of this resistor, since the slope of the response characteristic can be adjusted by changing the tap to.
An exemplary embodiment for this is shown in FIG. 3, namely only the circuit on the direct current side is shown. In the arrangement of Figure 3, the DC source represented by a plus and a minus sign is connected via a resistor 15 (the resistor 16 is first to be thought away) to the DC terminals of the rectifier arrangement 8, which is bridged by a resistor 10 who the. The relay coil 9 is connected to a tap of this resistor.
As long as the rectified through current is less than the auxiliary current of the direct voltage source that flows through the resistor 15, the total current does not affect the response characteristic.
Only when the total current is greater than the auxiliary direct current is the differential current required to respond to the relay increased so that the characteristic shown in FIG. 2 is achieved. The steepness of the characteristic curve to the right of the break point is set by changing it the tap at the resistor 10.
In the exemplary embodiment, similar to the arrangement according to FIG. 1, a valve 12 is also inserted into the connecting line to the relay coil in order to prevent a current from flowing through the relay coil from the DC voltage source. This valve could be omitted if the flow resistance of the aligning arrangement 8 were zero.
In the exemplary embodiments, a relay with only a single coil is easily seen. But you can also use a relay with two coils that counteract each other, one of which is traversed by the rectified differential current, while the other is connected via the valve in the same way to the rectifier 8, as in the Fig. 1 and 3 for the coil 9 is shown.
If a relay with only one coil is used, the level of the voltage that occurs when the relay coil responds has an influence on the location of the break point of the characteristic. If you want to make the response value of the relay adjustable without moving the break point, the response voltage of the relay must remain constant.
For this purpose, the response value of the relay is not set by changing the pretensioning of the return spring of the relay, but by a variable resistance 14 to the relay coil 9, which is shown in FIGS.
In the arrangement according to FIG. 3, when the slope of the claim characteristic changes, the position of the break point is influenced by changing the tap at the resistor 10 if a relay with only one single coil is provided.
In order to avoid this influence, a resistor 16 is provided in the embodiment, the size of which is selected so that the auxiliary current of the DC voltage source flowing through it causes a voltage that is equal to the response voltage of the relay change the steepness of the characteristic by changing the tap without shifting the position of the break point of the response characteristic.
