Method and device for cutting a strand, in particular textile fiber strands. In technology, use is being made to an increasing extent of short-fiber material, for example by using the same so-called velor papers or other documents and objects with a velvety cover to be produced. In general, this short-fiber material, which was originally called dust, is sprinkled or blown onto the surfaces of the support that are provided with a sticky coating or otherwise made sticky.
More recently, electrostatic processes have been introduced which consist in giving the short fiber material a high potential so that it aligns itself in parallel and, under the influence of electrostatic attraction, is guided at high speed to the base where it is in the adhesive gets stuck. In this way, you get extraordinarily thick and beautiful covers with a velvet or suede-like character, especially when using homogeneously dyed artificial silk fibers.
While originally such dust was only obtained as waste from fiber production, preparation and processing, where only longer fiber material was crushed in ball mills or the like, staple fiber production or cellulose technology led to the need to use synthetic fibers, but also Wool, cotton, hemp, jute, etc., i.e. primarily all natural and synthetic fibers, have to be cut to lengths between 30 and 150 mm. Cross knives were used for this purpose.
The process itself was carried out when the fibers were wet, in order to stretch them out and straighten them by washing them out; In the case of synthetic fiber material, the production meant that the fiber material assumed wet conditions that could be used to carry out the tendon process. However, since the flocculation technology greatly increases the consumption of short fibers, which the amount of waste dust that accumulates is no longer sufficient to satisfy, one has already started cutting short fibers.
Here, a 2-illotine-like bevel cut is used. The fiber material itself must be collected in paraffin blocks so that it can be summarized so compactly for the cut that the cut can even be carried out.
The washing out of the paraffin does. however extraordinary difficulties. The cut lengths obtained are also completely irregular, because the fiber yarn is never in parallel individual fibers, but always in loop and curl shapes, so that loops occur when bundling in strands or blocks, so you can see the cut length after opening - Longed loops enlarged to double.
The cut slices that remain collected after washing are clumped and do not readily disintegrate into fiber particles.
The invention now relates to a method for cutting a strand that does not require complicated and costly block formations and washing out processes by subjecting the strand to the action of centrifugal force according to the invention and being guided against a cutting edge in this state. Since, in one embodiment of the method, each individual fiber is subjected to centrifugal force, regardless of its type, length and condition, the fiber must stretch automatically when the centrifugal force is high enough, that is, when it rotates sufficiently quickly, so that all loops -, curls and loops are excluded.
The centrifugal force can moreover easily be brought to an extent at which even loose, fluffy fiber material becomes stick-like before the cut, so that it can be cut particularly well in this state. However, since it would lead to structurally difficult conditions, string-shaped material of the length with which it is generally produced or comes on the market, to fling, so the procedure in a Ver procedural example is that the string-shaped material from a axial feed movement is converted into a radial centrifugal movement.
In this case, however, it is inevitable that the fiber strand twists around its axis and thus becomes twisted. This distortion would, however, lead to the disadvantages, the elimination of which is sought. In order to prevent this, the twisting of the strand that occurs is compensated for in a further implementation example of the inven tion by turning back the radially directed strand end. In this way, it is possible to subject the strand-like product to centrifugal force at such a centrifugal speed and to such a length that non-straight strands are straightened out.
In addition, the strand-like material can be subjected to centrifugal force at such a centrifugal speed and to such a length that the latter is greater than the resistance to movement of the strand material. In this way, in this example, the strand is fed completely automatically to the interface. This is advantageous because other means would make it extremely difficult to advance loose and fluffy fiber material without impairing the parallel fiber layer.
Accordingly, it is possible here to subject the strand-like material to the centrifugal force at such a cutting speed and for such a length that the length of the automatically occurring feed reaches a predetermined size. By changing the resistance to movement of the strand material, it is in this procedural example in hand to set the feed rate to a certain size. In addition, it is advantageous to train the resistance to movement in a rhythmically variable manner.
This gives the possibility of increasing the resistance to movement during the actual cutting process to a level that prevents the advance. Then the fiber material remains completely at rest in the time element within which the first fiber touches the cutting edge and the last fiber leaves the cutting edge, so that a flat cut surface and, accordingly, a completely constant length of the cut fiber piece is created.
The cutting edge is expediently moved at least during the actual cutting process. The cutting edge can be given a speed during cutting that is greater than the test speed with which the strand material is moved towards the cutting edge, so that a pulling cut is created.
In addition, the cutting edge can be given a double-sided view of the longitudinal direction of the fiber strand so that a force component falls into the direction of the direction of the fiber flow during the process of selenium, thereby avoiding forces being generated during cutting which could change the directional position of the cut fibers. The same purpose serves an execution example, in which the air sensitive to the Sehneidstelle is put into circulation.
A draft of air can be sufficient to bend or flutter particularly fine-fiber strand material at the visual cutting point, so that small differences in length would result if the occurrence of such a draft of air was not prevented.
The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method, which is characterized by a centrifugal device for the strand end, in whose path a blade arrangement is laid. An exemplary embodiment with a circumferential disc body with a hollow hub serving to feed the cut material before the cut and with guides arranged in the direction of a diameter for the cut has proven to be particularly suitable.
Embodiments of the invention are tert erläu with reference to the schematic drawing, which illustrates a vertical longitudinal section through a cutting device.
In the drawing, 1 denotes the strand-like fiber material, which is referred to, for example, in artificial silk technology as lamoband. This strand-like starting material lies. in the direction of the axis 2-2 of a cutting head designed in the manner of an annular disk body. The cutting head is mounted on one side and can be brought to high speeds via a non-drawn drive device, for example by means of an un indirectly coupled electric motor. The innermost ring 3 forms a hollow hub 4, which grants the possibility of deflecting the goods 1 from the axial feed direction 2-2 in the radial centrifugal direction x-r, while the ring on the other hand delimits an annular space 5, the task of which he will be explained below.
The annular space 5 is delimited on the outside by a ring 6, while a last annular flange 7, together with the ring piece 6, forms an annular chamber 8, inside which the actual cutting process is carried out. The guide tube 9, which is supported at 10 and 11 in ball bearings, is used to guide the extrudate 1 in the radial direction. On the guide tube 9 is set on the friction roller 12, to which the non-rotating annular surface 13 is resiliently pressed.
The diameter of the friction roller 12 and the diameter on which the parts 12 and 13 touch are matched to each other so that with a full order of the disc body 3, 6, 7 also a full circulation of the friction roller 12 and thus the Guide tube 9 comes about in the opposite sense. So it occurs when the fiber strand 1 rotates around the axis 2-2 no twisting of the same do its longitudinal axis. The extruded material 1 is guided through the stationary tube 14 in the axial direction 2-2. The tube 14 has at 15 from cuts through which the rollers 16 are carried out so that they come to the fiber strand 1 to the plant. In the direction transverse to the fiber strand 1, the rollers 16 are movably mounted.
On them are the brake shoe-like friction pads 17, which are via one-armed lever 18 under the influence of an adjustable via adjusting member 19 we effect of springs 20 are. In this way, an adjustable, constant braking effect can be exercised on the movement of the strand of fiber material 1, which regulates the resistance to movement of the strand and thus the cutting feed. Instead of the device 20, however, the cam arrangement 21 with the adjusting sleeve 22 can also be used.
The number of revolutions of the cam 21 is. chosen so that in the cut position of the cutting head drawn, the resistance to movement reaches a level at which the fiber strand is completely retained. During the cut, the fiber material does not move in the radial direction of the cutting head. The adjusting sleeve enables the adjustment of the brake pressure during the period in which not. is cut.
In the chamber 8 protrudes at 23 inclined t-bearing llesser disc 21, wherein the cutting head is shown in a position in which cutting is being carried out. The cutter disc is set in revolutions by a special drive, not shown. The number of revolutions is determined so that the circumferential speed of the knife is greater than the circumferential speed at which the cut material, i.e. the radially guided strand 1, is moved towards the knife disk 24 by rotating around the axis 2-2.
This leads to a pulling bevel cut, which has the advantage that no forces are exerted on the material after it emerges from the mouth of the tube 9 that would significantly change the position of the individual fibers of the strand. The same purpose is used by the annular flange 7, which completely covers the cutting chamber 8 except for the insertion slot 25 for the knife disk 24, so that the air in the cutting chamber 8 must participate in the circumference of the cutting head.
As a result, there is no relative displacement between the circling the air ring and the likewise circling, radially directed fiber strand, so that all of the fibers of the same keep their position unchanged during the cutting process, especially when they are under the influence of the powerful pulling and directing effect of the centrifugal forces that occur . A hole 26 in the flange 7 is used to remove the cut material.
The bore 26 is in the drawn sectional position of an opening 27 in the stationary casing body 28 opposite, while the casing body 28 is closed except for the opening 27, so that no disruptive air currents can come about through the recess 26; while the position of the recess 26 can be changed in a circle, the recess 27 in the jacket body 28 is clearly fixed in relation to the position of the interface (knife disk 24).
Under the effect of centrifugal force, to which the circulating air ring is also subjected, the air flow sets in like a centrifugal fan immediately when the recesses 26 and 27 overlap, so that this air flow can be used to carry away the cut. It is therefore before geous to close the cavity 29 of the casing body 28 largely and to transfer it into a pipe that is used for pneumatic discharge of the cut material.
During the period of time in which there is no cutting, the knife disk 24 comes under the influence of a sharpening device, such as a rotating Sehmirgelseheibe 30, which is stored longitudinally displaceably for this purpose. A cam 31 accordingly controls the emery disk shaft, which is driven at 32. For better clarity, the sharpening device is shown in the sharpening position, while in practical versions the sharpening is expediently not carried out in the time span in which the cut is made.
The operation of the Vorriehtun g results from what has been said directly.
It can be seen that the axially fed strand material after being introduced into the guide tube 9 is subjected to the effects of centrifugal force, which grips, stretches and brings all the fibers of the strand-shaped fiber bundle into a parallel position to one another. It has been shown that at about 5000 revolutions per minute, the loops, loops and curls that such strand-like fiber bundles generally have due to the Ilerstellurigsvorga.ng-es are just pulled out.
At this number of revolutions, a tensile force is also exerted on the fiber strand, which would throw the entire fiber strand out of the tube 9 even if the strand was guided in the tube 9 to close. if not artificial movement resistance in the form of the brake rollers 16 is arranged. would be. With the arrangement 19, 20 it is completely up to you to control the feed of the strand zir and to adjust it in the required manner.
In this way, according to the microscope image, it was possible to achieve completely uniform cut lengths from briieli parts of one millimeter to the desired whole numbers of millimeters. will. Higher speeds than they correspond to 15,000 revolutions per minute are not, apart from special cases. required to achieve the desired result zti. The capacity of the device shown can be increased significantly in that, instead of one strand, several strands are fed and cut. For example, further friction rollers have been indicated at 33 and 34, to which the corresponding guide tubes and thus interfaces are assigned.
These interfaces can be arranged evenly distributed over the circumference of the cutting head, so that a number of strands pass through the knife disc assembly 24 directly one behind the other and are cut off in this way.
