Press, especially for sticking pictures onto cardboard. Zulu gluing paper images on cardboard, etc. are used, especially by photographers, presses with a fixed, level pressure plate and one that can be pivoted from above against the same pressure plate, the movable pressure plate being brought up to the other plate with the help of a toggle system with high pressure. can be.
The one, preferably fixed, pressure plate can be heated with the aid of electrical heating elements to accelerate the gluing process. To actuate the pivotable pressure plate by means of the toggle system, the press has a pivot lever which, in the known embodiments, is arranged laterally next to the press.
A major disadvantage of these presses, which are still in use today, shows when pulling photographs on documents of different thicknesses, because then the two printing plates of the press are not always exactly parallel to each other when the pivoting plate begins to sit on the objects to be glued together. The consequence of this is that the pressing does not take place over the entire surface of the picture or the base with an even thickness and can be inadequate at certain points, so that proper adhesion of the picture to the base is not guaranteed.
The present invention makes it possible to remedy this inconvenience and relates to a press, in particular for gluing pictures onto cardboard, which press is characterized in that at least one of the pressure plates pivotable with the aid of a toggle system is movably supported on its carrier.
An embodiment. the subject matter of the invention is shown schematically in the attached drawing, namely FIG. 1 shows the press in side view and partly in vertical cross section, FIG. 2 shows a plan view of part of the press, partly in section.
According to the illustrations, the press has on a frame-shaped lower part 1 a horizontal, flat pressure plate 2 which is provided with electrical heating elements 3 on its underside. An angled arm 4 is mounted pivotably about a horizontal axis 5 between two plates 6 which are fastened to the rear wall of the lower part 1.
The arm 4 has a with respect to the pivot axis 5 backwards - in Figure 1 downward - directed extension 4ca, on which a pivot 7 pivotable link 8 is mounted. The free end with the help of an axis 9 is articulated is connected to two tabs 10 which are arranged parallel to one another and which can be pivoted about a further axis 11 supported in the plates 6. The knee joint system formed from the handlebar 8 and the two tabs 10 is used to pivot the arm 4.
An actuating lever consisting of two interconnected parts 12a and 12b is rigidly connected to the handlebar 8 by means of the part 12b according to FIG. 1, in such a way that the knee joint system 8/10 is stretched or by pivoting the actuating lever 12a, 12b by means of a handle 13 can be kinked.
It can be seen from the illustrations that the actuating lever can be pivoted in the plane of symmetry of the same normal to the pivot axis 5 of the press and is located in the middle above the arm 4 when the press is in the position of use.
A tension spring 14 engages with its one end on a pin 15 fastened in the circuit boards 6 and with the other end on a pin 16 present on the rear extension 4a of the arm 4 and tends to pull the arm 4 when the actuating lever is released 12a, 12b, 13 to pivot upwards into the position shown in FIG.
At the end of the arm 4, a cooperating with the pressure plate 2 second pressure plate 17 is supported in the middle of its surface by a perpendicular to the plane of the pressure plate 17 attached to the same Bol zen 18 protrudes through a sleeve 19 on the arm 4 and on which the Pressure plate abge turned upper end with the help of a head 20 against axial displacement after Lunten ge is secured. Between the lower face of the sleeve 19 and the upper side of the pressure plate 17 there is a helical compression spring (, r 21, which is wound around the bolt 18 and strives to push the pressure plate 17 and the bolt 18 down so far that the Head 20 is pending on the opposite side of arm 4.
The use and operation of the described press is as follows: The objects to be pressed, for example a cardboard base with a photographic image glued on, are placed on the fixed, horizontal pressure plate 2, whereupon by pivoting the actuating lever 12a, 12b, 13 down , that is to say in a clockwise direction in FIG. 1, the knee joint system 8/10 is extended and the arm 4 is thereby pivoted in the same direction as the actuating lever until the bolt 18 is perpendicular to the fixed pressure plate 2.
This position of the arm 4 is fixed by stopping the tabs 10 on the bolt 15. The pivotable pressure plate 17 lowers. This stands on the objects to be pressed, the spring 21 being compressed more or less strongly depending on the thickness of the same. The two pressure plates 2 and 17 of the press are then parallel to each other and thus press the objects evenly over their entire surface. The force causing the pressing is generated by the compression spring 21, which is able to compensate for differences in thickness of the objects to be pressed.
The heating of the fixed printing plate 2 caused by the electrical heating elements 3 causes the adhesive used between the substrate and the image to be glued to dry quickly, so that the press only takes a short time. must be maintained. The handle 13 of the actuating arm 12a, 12b is then lifted so that after the dead center position has been exceeded, the spring 14 can move the movable parts back into the position shown in FIG. 1.
In the embodiment described, the desired parallel pressing position of the two pressure plates 2 and 17 is achieved by the stop 15 and in that the pressure plate 17 is supported on the arm 4 in an elastically flexible manner in the direction normal to its plane. The same purpose could also be achieved by the plate 2 being supported in an elastically yielding manner on your lower part 1.
According to an embodiment variant not shown, one of the pressure plates could also be supported with the aid of a joint on the arm 4 or on the lower part 1, which joint has a pivot axis parallel to the pivot axis 5 of the press. According to a further variant, one pressure plate could be supported so as to be pivotable to a limited extent in all directions (for example a ball joint). In both cases, the parallel seating of the Drlielz plates is guaranteed regardless of the thickness of the objects to be pressed.
