Apparatus for bagging granular products.
The present invention relates to a poni apparatus for bagging granular products, this apparatus comprising a passage for delivering passage to a load of the product, means for fixing the opening of a bag around the mouth of said passage, an openable cover. adjacent to the mouth of said corridor and having means making it possible to close this cover around the bag to form an airtight chamber around the latter, and means making it possible to suck the air out of this chamber.
According to the invention, this apparatus is characterized in that the mouth of said passage is arranged so as to be able to be inserted into the opening of the bag and in that fixing means are provided at the upper edge of the cover to cooperate with the 'mouth of the corridor, in order to seize the edge of the opening of the bag to apply it against this mouth and to close in a sealed manner said chamber formed around the bag.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the apparatus which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a vertical section through the apparatus with the cover closed and a filled bag shown in phantom.
Fig. 1a shows, on a larger scale, a detail of FIG. 1.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view through 2-2 of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a horizontal sectional view along 3-3 of FIG. 1, the cover being closed.
Fig. 4 is a sectional view along 4-4 of FIG. 3.
Fig. 5 is a view similar to FIG. 3, with the cover open.
Fig. 6 is a diagram of a complete installation comprising the apparatus according to the invention.
The complete installation includes a device for weighing grain loads. Such devices are well known and such a device is shown at 1 in FIG. 6. The purpose of this device is to unload the quantity of goods intended to fill a bag, and it is generally provided with a manual control member intended to empty the weighed contents of the device 1 into a hopper 2, at the lower end. of which is attached a bag B. The upper part of the hopper is not closed around the weighing device, so that air can escape through the upper end of the hopper.
The bags for the granular goods used by said apparatus are generally made of coarse fabric which is permeable to air. A cover 4 surrounds the bag and it is provided with means for fixing the latter and maintaining it in a position allowing it to receive the load, as well as for sealing the mouth of the bag. In fig. 6, the bag is shown in the position it occupies before receiving the weighed load from device 1.
The cover is generally formed by two flaps intended to be closed around the bag, and it is connected to a device intended to create a vacuum, represented by a pipe 6 leading to a suction device 7 through which the air discharged from the cover is discharged through a pipe 8 into a dust filter represented here by a filter of the centrifugal type 9.
In the embodiment shown, the mouth of the hopper 2 is provided with a flange 10 having a circular rib 12 by which the upper end of the bag is fixed to the mouth of the hopper.
On one side of the hopper is arranged a support for the cover 4. This comprises an upright 14 reposa.nt on a base plate 15 and a vertical shaft 16, the lower end of which is mounted on the plate 15 and the upper end fixed to the upright 14 by a console 17. The shaft 16 constitutes the pivot around which the two leaves of the cover can pivot from the open position shown in FIG. 5 to the closed position shown in FIG. 3.
Each leaf of the cover consists of a shell of semi-circular or semi-elliptical shape 20, 21, and comprising two bearings 22 arranged near the upper end, respectively lower end of the shell, these bearings being able to pivot on the shaft 16. Rings 24 are attached to the shaft to support the shells.
Each of the flaps of the cover is provided, at its inner upper edge, with two rings 26 and 27 spaced from each other, which cooperate with the upper face, respectively lower face of the rib 12 of the lower end of the hopper. , when the cover is closed. A flexible rubber washer 28 is housed between the rings 26 and 27; its thickness is sufficient to ensure a tight closure of the cover around the hopper and for the opening of the bag to be firmly maintained. Fig. 1a shows this arrangement in detail.
The lower end of each of the flaps of the cover is provided with a flange 30 on the upper face of which is fixed a rubber washer 32, the inner edge of which exceeds the inner end of the flange 30, so as to ensure sealing. of the joint formed with the outer surface of a pipe 34 disposed on a base 35 and connected to the duct 6.
The cover is opened and closed on the bag by means of two control arms 40, one end of each of which is articulated to a console 41, which consoles are fixed substantially in the middle of the periphery of each of the leaves and at the top. of these; these arms are oriented towards the rear of the device where they end in the form of a fork and are articulated to a head 44 which can slide in a guide 45 fixed on the upper face of a platform 46.
The platform 46 is fixed to the rear face of the upright 14 and it is carried at its outer end by an oblique leg 48.
The head 44 is fixed to the end of the rod of a piston 50 housed in a cylinder 51 capable of pivoting on a console 52 fixed to the upper face of the platform 46.
Pressurized fluid pipes 54 connect the ends of the cylinder with a distributor 55 located in a place where it is accessible to the operator when the latter is in front of the apparatus. The distributor contains valves operable by pedals 56 controlling the admission and exhaust of a fluid, respectively at the two ends of the cylinder 51, in order to close and open the cover.
Rods 60 are intended to facilitate the movement of the two leaves of the cover, which rods are articulated by their outer end to two consoles 61 each fixed to one of the leaves of the cover between the upper and lower edges of thes-ei. The other ends of the rods 60 are mounted so as to be able to slide in guides 63 each fixed to the end dBn arm 65, these arms being fixed to the underside of the platform 46. A coil spring 66 is mounted on each rod to damp the opening movement of the corresponding leaf of the cover; ; the front end of each spring is applied against a collar 67 mounted on the rod, near the console 61.
When the two leaves of the cover open, the springs are compressed between the guides 63 and the collars 67.
Resilient locking means are intended to keep the leaves pressed against each other as soon as the cover has been closed.
A simple arrangement of this lock is shown in the drawing by a lever 68 fixed on the leaf 21 and by a hook 69 fixed on the leaf 20.
A support 70 for the bag, in the form of a cradle, is mounted inside the cover 4. It consists of a frame disposed somewhat above the pipe 34, on the top of a member 72 pivoted at 73 on an upright 75 passing through the pipe 34. As shown in FIG. 2, the pivot 73 is off-center with respect to the cradle, so that the latter normally remains in the horizontal position shown in solid lines, being held by a stop 76. The cradle can be inclined as shown in phantom in FIG. . 2, so that the filled bag can be removed more easily from the apparatus, the cradle returning to its horizontal position as soon as the bag is removed.
When the apparatus is in operation, the suction member 7 can be continuously operated. When the hood is open, the operator fixes the opening of a bag around the hride 10, the opening being sufficiently stretched so that the empty bag remains suspended from the hride 12. The operator actuates the pedal 56 to close. the flaps 20 and 21 of the cover which, by closing on the opening of the bag, ensure the seal around this opening. The lower end of the cover is also sealed on the pipe 34.
As the bag is still empty at this time, it will partially close the mouth of the hopper; as the air can no longer enter freely through the end of the cover into the latter, the pressure in the cover will be appreciably reduced as a result of the action of the suction member 7. This will cause the bag to expand and load can fall freely to the bottom of the bag.
The operator then drops the load contained in the measuring device through the hopper and into the bag. The grain or the product falling into the bag is packed with compact dewlap in the latter due to the vacuum reigning around the bag. The load in a sack should be such that it does not completely fill the sack, so that the level reached by the grain is somewhat below the mouth of the hopper, as indicated by line X in fig. 1 ..
Thus, the contents of the bag leave a part of the bag free towards its opening, so that air can pass through there to destroy the vacuum in the cover which surrounds the bag. The operator then operates the lever 68 and actuates the pedal 56 which controls the opening of the cover. The time required for the operator to operate the lever 68 and to command the opening of the cover is sufficient for the pressure difference prevailing inside and outside the cover is reduced to such an extent that the latter can be open freely.
Opening the hood releases the top of the bag and the bag comes to rest on the cradle 70 from where it can be easily removed. When the hood is closed, the decrease in air pressure sucks in the air surrounding the grains that fall into the bag. This causes a more compact packing of the grains than that obtained with known devices of this type.
Air suction from inside the hood sucks dust out of the hood, which is retained by the dust filter, so that when the hood is opened little or no dust escapes .
Although the suction device 7 can operate continuously, it can also be put into operation only when the cover is closed, in which case the distributor controlling the opening and closing of the cover can also be used for start and stop the suction device, this distributor being particularly suitable for this purpose.
