Billboard. Advertising, as practiced today, increasingly requires lively subjects, which attract and hold the attention of the public.
In this vein, the present invention relates to a billboard, comprising a figurine with articulated arms and legs and provided with a movable counterweight, and a staircase on which automatically descends from '' one step to another said figurine under the effect of its counterweight, executing in slow motion the decomposed movements of a somersault by overturning the body and this until it reaches the last step, constituted by the platform of an elevator,
where the feet of the figurine press on a pusher which engages a reversible mechanism starting an electric motor in the desired direction to raise the elevator with the figurine to a determined position in which a vertical rod acts on said reversible mechanism for reversing the direction of travel of the motor,
position - in which the said figurine is hooked by its arms to a ferric cable carrier which is set in motion at this moment by the said mechanism in the desired direction so that, while descending along a slope, it leads the figurine on the step top of the staircase, in position to resume its cycle, the billboard including, in addition,
a luminous advertising motif whose switching on and off are controlled alternately by the articulated members of the figure which press on electric switches with which the steps of the staircase are provided.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example and schematically, an embodiment of the billboard, object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an overall view of the device, in elevation.
Figs. 2 and 3, on a larger scale, show an embodiment of the suspension of the figurine to the cable car transporter, fig. 2 being a section along the line II-II of FIG. 3, and fig. 3 a section along the line III-III of FIG. 2.
The panel shown comprises a fragment of staircase seen in profile, the upper step 1 of which is fixed to one of the side walls 42 of the panel and the last step of which is constituted by the platform 2 of an elevator. 3, located on the side of the opposite side wall 42 'of the panel. The successive intermediate steps 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are each provided with a contact 36, for example in the form of an electrical switch with a pressure button ensuring successively,
by the pressure of the feet or of the hands - a figure 27, the switching on, then the extinction of a luminous advertising motif 38.
The last step, formed by the platform 2, has a slot which passes through a pusher 10 secured, for example, to the lever 29 of a three-position switch 28, a switch intended to actuate a reversible mechanism making the device operate. sign.
In this case, this mechanism comprises an electric motor 11 whose shaft 13 is extended by a worm 14 which actuates, by means of an intermediate gear 15, a winch 16 on which is wound a cable 17 which is suspended elevator 3, cable guided by lower 18 and upper 19 pulleys.
In its turn, the winch 16 drives a louse 20 on which sit wound an endless cable 21, guided by pulleys 22, 23, 24 and 25, the purpose of which is to actuate in an inclined plane a cable car transporter 26, intended in automatically returning the figure 27 to its initial position, on the upper step 1 of the stairs. The mechanism further comprises a com mutator 28, .comprenant an oscillating .levier 29, drawn in its rest position (horizontal) in solid lines.
The mechanism is started by the figurine 27 when it arrives on the last step of the staircase, constituted by the platform 2 .de the elevator. At this moment, the foot of the figurine presses on the .pusher 10 which causes the lever 29 to pass into position 30, in phantom lines, where it establishes contact 32, which has the effect of starting the motor 11 in the desired direction to raise the elevator 3 and bring the cable car transporter from 26 to 26 '.
Finally, the mechanism comprises a vertical rod 34, which has at its upper end 3 'a beak curved at right angles and capable of sliding in a slot formed in the bottom wall of the panel. At its lower end, the rod 34 is terminated by a slide 35 in which the end of the lever 29 can move.
Before arriving at the upward stroke, the slide of this rod 34 brings the switch lever back from its position 30 to position 31, drawn in dotted lines, to operate the engine in the opposite direction. to the previous one, necessarily passing through the middle position; corresponding to stopping the engine.
The purpose of this reversal is, on the one hand, to bring the elevator back down to its initial position, at the bottom of the stairs and, on the other hand, to: bring back the figurine 27 by means of the transporter cable car 26, in its starting position, on the top step 1 of the stairs.
The billboard shown works as follows: By placing figure 27 on the first step 1 of the stairs, it performs in slow motion under the effect of its counterweight and in the direction of arrow f, the decomposed movements of a somersault, by reversing the body backwards, while going down the steps 1 to 9 of the stairs and this until she reaches the last step, that is to say the platform 2 of the elevator. At this moment, the feet of the figurine press on the pusher 10, which brings the lever 29 to its position 30, where it establishes the contact 32 of the switch, corresponding to the starting of the engine.
The elevator carrying the figurine will rise towards point 3 'and the cable car transporter 26 will move towards point 26', ie towards its upper end.
From point 3 'and up to the upper end-Min-Lus point, the elevator 3 drives the rod 34, the lower end of which in turn drives the lever 29 to bring it successively into the middle positions of stop and reversal 31, where the contact 33 of the switch operates the motor in the opposite direction. The elevator 3 will begin its downward run, while the cable car transporter 26, whose carriage has just hooked the arms of the figurine, will bring the latter back to step 1 of the stairs.
Figs. 2 and 3 show in detail how. the figurine, arriving on step 1, leaves the trolley of the cable car transporter 26. The figurine is suspended by its hands 39 from the oscillating supports 40, to see return springs and pivoting on axes 43 fixed to the flanges of the trolley 26 .
On the other hand, the side wall 42 of the panel is provided, facing the hands 39, with a stopper 41., which engages between the flanges of the cart to act on the hands of the figurine and release them. oscillating supports 40. At the end of travel of the transporter, the supports 40 pivot on their axes 43 and the figurine, disengaged from the carriage, is in place on step 1 to restart its cycle.
During this time, the elevator in its descent abuts with its platform 2 "against the pusher 12 (fig. 1), fixed to the lever 29, which has the effect of returning the latter to its horizontal position and '' stop the engine.
At each step, 7a figurine actuates the button of an electric switch 36 which controls the ignition on each of the successive descents. then the extinction of the lamps 37 of a luminous advertising motif 38.
In the written embodiment, it is the feet of the figurine which successively light the lamps of the luminous motif during the first descent of the steps to the staircase and which extinguish them in the same order during the first descent. the next descent.
The switches 36 of the steps .de l'es ca, link could also be operated by the hands of the figurine.
It goes without saying that the embodiment described is given only by way of example and that the combinations existing between the illumination of the light pattern and the path of the figurine may vary according to the arrangement and the mode of operation. operation of switches.
