wobei (Y eiehzeitig nach Auflage des Stempelbundes <B>6</B> und der ringförmigen 3latrize <B>10</B> auf der Bleehwand der Rand des Loches<B>9</B> in der Bleehwand <B>8</B> aufgebördelt %vird. Fig. <B>'22</B> zeigt die so entstandene Verbindung vor Entfer nung des Stempels und der 31atrize;

Method for connecting a pipe socket to a sheet metal wall and device for carrying out the method. The invention relates to a method for connecting a pipe socket to a sheet metal wall and a device for carrying out this method.
<B> n </B> The method according to the invention is characterized in that a ring-shaped die is pushed over the socket provided with a bead, and that the socket is pushed into a hole in the sheet metal wall until the bead rests over its entire circumference is lifted into the wall so that further the nozzle with the part having the bead is slipped over the mandrel of a stamp, which mandrel has a transition line at its foot with a constantly increasing diameter merging into a collar of the stamp,
and that the die and punch are then pressed against one another in such a way that the bead is pressed together in the space created between a recess in the die and the surface of the punch and the end of the nozzle protruding through the hole in the sheet metal wall is carded over the sheet metal wall.
The device according to the invention is characterized by a mandrel arranged on a punch, which has a transition surface at its foot with a steadily increasing diameter in a collar of the punch and also by an annular die, which at the edge of the hole on one side of the ring has a - taking the compressed bead of the connecting piece and the connecting piece end rolled over the sheet metal wall in a certain ring shape,
has ge recess. The transition area on the punch can be dimensioned in such a way and the reason for the exception on the ring-shaped die can be shaped in such a way that, after the stamp collar and the ring-shaped die have been placed on the sheet metal wall, not only the end of the nozzle is rolled around the sheet metal wall, but also the Edge of the hole in the sheet metal wall is flanged.
Furthermore, the method according to the invention can be carried out in such a way that the rolled-up end of the nozzle is pressed against the sheet metal wall with the aid of a recess in the form of a ring flush with the sheet metal wall that follows the recess on the edge of the die on a ring side of the die becomes.
The mandrel is advantageously formed with a suit so that it has a smaller diameter at the outer end than at the connection of the transition surface.
The process for producing a connection according to the invention is explained using the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing of the device for implementing the process, for example.
FIG. 1 illustrates the individual parts on the basis of a first exemplary embodiment and FIG. 2 shows the finished connection of a pipe socket to a flat sheet metal wall after pressing.
Fig. 3 shows a detail of a further embodiment on a larger scale. The z-linder-shaped pipe socket <B> 1 </B> (FIG. 1) </B> has an annular bead 2 which can be attached to a commercially available pipe section, for example by cold forming. Below the bead 2, a short pipe section <B> 3 </B> connects to the socket.
The mandrel <B> 7 </B> of the punch 4 has at its foot a transition surface <B> 5 </B> that merges with the collar <B> 6 </B> with a steadily increasing diameter. The mandrel <B> 7 </B> is designed with a tightening so that it has a smaller diameter at the outer end than the mandrel diameter equal to the inner diameter of the pipe socket when connecting the transition area <B> 5. </B> The punch 4 can be connected to the fixed part of a press device in a manner not shown.
The bleed wall <B> 8 </B> has a circular hole <B> 9 </B> into which the connecting piece <B> 1 </B> with the pipe piece <B> 3 </ B > is lifted in until the bead 2 rests on the sheet metal wall <B> 8 </B>. The ring-shaped die <B> 10 </B> can be connected to the movable part of a pressing device in a manner not shown; its inside diameter corresponds to the outside diameter of the pipe socket.
On one side of the ring, the die <B> 10 </B> has a recess <B> 11 </B> on the edge of the loell, the base of which is sawn off and the cylindrical part of which has an inner diameter equal to the outer diameter of the circular bead .
Before pressing, the pipe socket <B> 1 </B> is pushed into the circular hole of the sheet metal wall <B> 8 </B> until the "##, 'Lilstes 2" touches the wall <B> 8 </B> B> with the part occupied by this bead placed over the mandrel <B> 7 </B> and then pushed the die <B> 10 </B> from above over the pipe socket.
Under the influence of the pressing force acting on the die, the die and die are then pressed against one another in such a way that the space between the die recess and the surface of the die is pressed together by the bead of the tube Hole in the sheet metal wall <B> 8 </B> the protruding end <B> 3 </B> of the connector <B> 1 </B> is rolled over the sheet metal wall,
where (at the same time after the stamp collar <B> 6 </B> and the annular 3latrize <B> 10 </B> have been placed on the sheet metal wall, the edge of the hole <B> 9 </B> in the sheet metal wall <B> 8 </B> flanged% vird. Fig. <B> '22 </B> shows the connection thus created before removal of the punch and the matrix;
Corresponding parts are provided with the same reference lines as in FIG. 1. After pressing, the punch and die are separated from each other and the pipe socket with the sheet metal wall that is now firmly connected to it is released.
The die <B> 10 </B> can also have a recess 12 Tig. That adjoins the recess <B> 11 </B>. <B> 3) </B>, in which the turned-up end <B> 3 </B> of the connecting piece <B> 1- </B> in the form of a flat ring <B> 13 </ B> is pressed against the sheet metal wall <B> 8 </B>, which ensures increased rigidity of the connection thus obtained.
The invention is not limited to the Ausführungsbei games illustrated in the drawing. Rather, the over-, -an ", sfläche kn <B> 5 </B> of the punch 4 could be shaped differently C in order to adapt the inner boundary surface of the connection as favorably as possible to the flow course of the gaseous or liquid medium flowing through the nozzle .
The circular bead 2 could also be formed by a fixed ring attached to the connecting piece. The sheet metal wall <B> 8 </B> can represent a part of a container or a channel or also a piece that is cut out of a sheet metal as a flange. By suitable shaping of the punch and lathe, as well as the pipe socket end and the hole in the sheet metal wall, connections can also be made in which the sheet metal wall forms a curved surface or part of the same.
To do this, it is necessary to shape the sides of the punch collar <B> 6 </B> and the die <B> 10 </B> facing the sheet metal wall during the pressing process in such a way that all points of its surface touch the sheet metal wall without a gap. The hole in the sheet metal wall as well as the bead arranged on the socket and the annular recess at the edge of the hole in the die are also to be designed according to the shape of the penetration curve between the bent surface of the sheet metal wall and the cylindrical surface of the pipe socket to be fastened.
Advantageously, pipes of commercially available lengths can also be connected at their two ends to a flange-shaped sheet metal piece by means of the method according to the invention and then joined together to form a line by fastening two pairs of flanges to one another.
The sequence of the operations prior to pressing is not essential, it can be replaced by any other sequence. presses and the end of the nozzle protruding through the hole in the sheet metal wall is carded over the sheet metal wall.
